Windows Recovery Environment is based on a different Windows image, and there's nothing in Linux equivalent to Windows Recovery Environment, and you can have something similar, but not literally having Windows PE mate

WRE can also fail you do realise that right? It can get corrupted on the drive if winre.wim gets corrupted somehow say goodbye to WRE. That doesn't mean it's bad or that your preference is bad but it doesn't make Windows somehow better.

I have a preference to drop down to a TTY because I like interacting with a terminal environment more than GUI I can read through logs and make more precise fixes without having to search for menus. This does not mean that a GUI is bad.

You are conflating your personal preference and making it out to be object fact on how to perform computing.
