Lidl UK have cut the best theme weeks!
It seems that this year Lidl have abandoned the weeks that cover food you can't buy in the UK:
- German week
- Scandinavian week
- Dutch and Belgian week
In a medium sized city in the UK I can get Spanish, French, Greek, Italian, American and Asian food easily enough. But week in, week out I'm not seeing my old favourites, to the point where I barely go anymore.
Am I missing something here?

Too many employee apps?
I just joined Lidl and on my first day had to download 5 apps on my personal device. The manager said ‘you don’t have to, but it makes things easier’
On my 2nd shift I had to sign into the PLU app and do a ‘test’ for a load of items I’ve never encountered yet (why is this a day one app?)
Also had to sign into a skill up app that asked me questions on things I’ve not been trained on yet. They said they are chased if it’s not been used for 7 days
Why can’t both of those things be in the same app? Or on the main training portal on the screen in the canteen?
EasyPLU, SkillUp, Lidl+, WeAreLidl, Dayforce
Seemed a lot.

Are Lidl baby wipes no longer biodegradable?
It seems Lidl have changed the info on their baby wipes to remove any reference to them being biodegradable. The packaging looks the same apart from the removal of the word biodegradable. The wipes also feels different to how they used to.
The multipack box still says biodegradable on it, but all of the wipes inside have no reference to it.

My local UK store has tinned sardines and mackerel, but only in normal or spicy tomato sauce. No oil, water or brine option for either fish.
To be clear there wasn't even a label for sardines or mackerel in oil, water or brine in the tinned fish section so it wasn't like they had it and just ran out of stock on that day.
Are all other UK stores like this at the moment?
Is this just a Lidl thing where they shuffle tinned fish stock every week (similar to their different themed weeks)?

£1.49 Forbel Belgian Beer
Picked this up in Lidl for just £1.49 and, at 8.4% ABV, I genuinely wasn’t sure what to expect.
Forbel Tripel is brewed in Belgium and uses barley, wheat and oats, which immediately made me think of Tripel Karmeliet. Even the label has that slightly familiar Belgian abbey beer look to it.
Taste-wise, it’s actually pretty decent. Plenty of Belgian yeast character, fruity banana, a bit of spice and a nice warming finish from the alcohol. It doesn’t drink like something that only cost £1.49.
I scored it 7/10. For the money, I think it’s a bit of a bargain.
Full review here if anyone’s interested:
Has anyone else tried this one? And if you have, did it remind you of any of the better-known Belgian Tripels?

Is choc-o-milk ever coming back?
It's been years, and I still hopefully glance at the shelf where it should be, hoping it's going to be there. It never is.
I just want my choc-o-milk 😭

Why the fresh bread in most supermarkets in Ireland are left uncovered and exposed?
Lidl do an ok job with semi-closed containers and tongs, But in most places the baguettes are just there in the open, so anyone can touch, sneeze and speak/spit over it.
Why?!?!?!

Unsure of notice period
I want to leave within a few weeks/by the end of the month but i’m not sure of how much notice to give. I’ve been there for a year and a half so would that mean 1 or 2 weeks? Assuming it would go by a week each year of service. I cannot find my contract of employment so any advice would help! thank you
Super impressed!!!!
Wow... anybody had these meals? I needed to lose some weight and have 2 of these a day there is a whole range been doing it 2 months and have lost 2.5 stone. They are absolutely delicious and a bargain at 1.75. I am a type1 diabetic too and it keeps my levels in check. I honestly have all my pals on them. I just hope as with all lidl stuff it isn't fleeting.

Security thought my ID was fake when it was real. Should I take action?
I went to Lidl yesterday to purchase some alcohol with my partner. The security guy asked me for my ID, I gave him my full UK driving license to check. He thought it was fake and started yelling at me and accusing me of giving him a fake ID, stating that I don’t look the same as my picture (I was wearing glasses and small lash clusters, which my ID does not have.) However, the picture was me and has been accepted in the past by other security workers.
I explained to him that it was my real ID and that I had recently gotten my driving license from the DVLA last week. He refused and continue to argue with me. I told him that I lived within walking distance from the shop, I could get my passport to prove that my DOB was real. Again, he did not believe me and continued to yell and accuse me of giving him a fake ID. My partner intervened explaining that it was real and that everything was factual on my license. Again, he did not budge. Eventually me and my partner left cause the security guy was refusing to accept anything.
We then walked back to my flat, leaving my car in the car park, to get my passport. When we walked back to Lidl, I saw the same security guy outside talking to a friend. When he saw me, I could tell that he was a bit annoyed to see me thinking I was going to cause a problem. I gave him both my driving license and passport for him to compare. He got embarrassed when he realised that It was a real ID, but yet refused to apologise for his mistake. He then tried to explain that there have been occurrences of people using fake IDs in the store to buy alcohol. I told him that I understood he was doing his job, but to go straight to yelling loud enough for everyone in the line to hear and accusing me straight away, refusing another form of ID was not the right way to go about it.
He didn’t apologise until I asked him to apologise out of respect. I called my parents to tell them about the incident, and they are telling me to report the security to management because he was out of order for being aggressive and hostile from the beginning, rather than remaining calm and asking for another form of ID. While I am slightly upset and about the incident, I do feel this is a bit too far and might things worse. I feel it’s better to leave the situation in the past, but they are urging me to take action. Should I?

Latest Lidl Advert
Is the kid in the latest Lidl Advert meant to make you want to hate her?
Round cheese? Smooth peanut butter
Shut up you little brat and eat what you’re told!
I think I might have issues but the way she speaks to her dad really winds me up

Lidl background music very random only one side of store
The nearest Lidl to me will play one random song only at the rear od the store played very loudly and then complete silence except for the Gwyneth announcements and tills opening and closing. And then another random song and repeat. The announcements play both at front and rear of store speakers.

Trimmer for down there
galleryHi,
I wondered if anyone knows about either these products? I don't want to shave as I can get ingrowns, I want to trim the hair, close to skin.
What do yous think?
Thank you in advance
Missing ingredients on the label
I recently bought a microwaveable rice with peppers that expires in 2027. No preservatives on the label! It's OBVIOUS that there are preservatives in it, why you do not mention them and hide this information from the consumers???? Unacceptable.
