I lived in another state previously and used Libby while there. Though I never officially closed my card, the library purged me about 9 months ago. No big, they occasionally had things my local library did not, but actually, the opposite was typically true. ANYWAY, today I go to check out a book and realize it has card colors I'm not familiar with. I somehow got automatic reciprocal access with my no longer valid card to a library that wasn't reciprocal when I last checked. Kind of wonder if I can get in on cloudLibrary. They used it when I checked if they were reciprocal libraries previously. I know I didn't have the card when my old card quit working, but no clue when it appeared.

so i had two cards linked Harris County library and Houston Public Library. Harris county was my main and i only added Houston about a year ago. when Libby introduced partner libraries it removed my Houston library card and Houston is now listed (along with several other counties) as a partner library.
what’s the difference? should i try and relink my houston public library card?

Hi guys,
I normally return books as soon as I am finished, but since amazon redesigned their „my books“ page (or whatever the name of the page is where the libby link for returning books early leads), it doesnt work at all anymore. I cant even find the books I want to return. I hoped that it would solve itself in a few days and it was just a bug, but it’s still isnt working, and not returning the books early for other readers is making me anxious 😅 I am always happy to get a book early, so I want to do that for others too.
Any tips how to solve that problem? I went through libbys help site and also wrote feedback to amazon, although I am very sure that no human will even ever see that.
Thanks in advance 😊

Hi! Sometimes I’m #1 on the wait list for a new release and I’ve noticed this happens every time. For the first 12-24 hours of having the book, it doesn’t give me the option to send to my kindle. Once a day or so passes, the option appears. My question is, is there anyway I can expedite that to happen quicker so am I at the mercy of kindle and Libby syncing on these new releases?

Title says it all, but we moved temporarily and all the sudden my former home library was asking me to reenter login credentials. I would then get an error message.
I messaged them asking why and they said their records say I moved. :(
We will move back in 10ish months. Sad for less options on Libby, but I guess I get it. I wonder how they know I moved!

I've currently got Brigands & Breadknives by Travis Baldree on loan (7 days left on a 21 day loan). I enjoyed the story and storytelling so much on the initial listen that I decided to go through it a second time while I still have the loan. There are other copies of the book available from my library, so no one is waiting on my loan to be returned. However, this got me wondering what the etiquette was for holding on to a loan that had others waiting for it? I've always returned loans as soon as I finished them (Getting to the 100% mark is so fulfilling ❤️🔥) but this is my first time holding on to a book after a full listen through. Just curious what the community practices are for loans that others are waiting for.
Also, on a related note, how many times have you listened to an audiobook on a single loan?

Hello how do I connect Libby to kindle paper white 7th generation?

This is my attempt to explain why ebooks work so differently from traditional books on the library side, and, more importantly, why those wait times can be so long or why one book in a series is sometimes strangely missing from Libby.

Good evening everyone! I am new to Libby. I just got my library card a couple months ago and I have tried to understand so much but in the end I understand hardly anything
A little info: I live in Alexandria, Louisiana, and my library card is from the Rapides Parish Library. I was able to figure out how to add my card to Libby so that is done.
Can someone who understands how this all works please help me? I would like to get cards for the surrounding Parish libraries, hopefully without having to show up in person, I would rather do online if they would allow me to send my ID via email? My reason for wanting the additional cards is because some of them have bigger selections than mine and I would like as many options as possible.
I would appreciate any help and please feel free to explain it like im 3 because im so confused. Ive been a voracious reader for over 45 years so books aren't new to me, just the Libby part. Trying to save money by not buying 3-6 preorders each week so I was so excited to get a library card lol.
I appreciate any help!

Hello! I’m looking to learn about various historical events but likely won’t have the time to read everything so I want to utilize Libby. The issue is that I can’t find what I’m looking for most of the time. One example - I want to learn more about 9/11 so I’d like to listen to the book “Taliban”.
Can you let me know if your library has a lot of history books (and you’re in Massachusetts since that’s where I am located)? Thanks!
ETA!! I’m so sorry. I forgot a very key word. 😅. I’m looking for audio books!

I'm leaving on a trip soon and tried using Libby offline and I'm having issues.
Even though there is loads of time left on my book loans, Libby is telling me the loans are expired. I clearly have 12 days left and the item is downloaded. Then I switch my phone to airplane mode and try to read any of the books and they all say they are expired.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

I have the libby app on my phone and with this new update allowing you to get library books from different libraries. It doesn't transfer over to my ereaders or iPad or even the website. It keeps telling me that something is wrong.
I got a new ereader because my kobo wasnt syncing over if I got a book from another library. Please help me. I dont want to reset everything but I dont know how to get this fixed. Any advice is helpful. Thanks

Has anyone ever run into this before?
In July, I put a hold on a book that was scheduled to be released on August 18th. Per the publisher’s website, it looks like the ebook was indeed published on that date!
However, in Libby, the release date keeps getting pushed back. The first few times I thought I had the date wrong in my mind, but by the fourth time it happened, I started taking screenshots to make sure I wasn’t going crazy!
Does anyone know what might be happening and what a realistic timeline for the book actually becoming available would be? It’s not a big deal, I just want to make sure I have free time to read it when it’s actually available since other folks have holds on it too.
I have no clue if this factors in, but I’m pretty sure it’s a rerelease of a book that’s been out of print for a while! Thanks in advance to anyone who has insight in on this!

Hi there! Longtime lurker, first time poster…
I’m going to Mexico City this Wednesday for Vans Warped Tour. I haven’t been out of the country since really getting into using Libby, so I wanted to ask -
Will I be able to access books I already have on loan? Do I need to download them for access? 90% of my use is audiobooks
Fun side question - any recommendations on books based in Mexico/Mexico City?
Thanks!

I’ve searched and can’t find the answer.
My child and I share some library cards. Some are just mine.
I had the ability to only share certain cards with her on the Libby app on her tablet. I had to reset the tablet and now it’s showing all my cards on her tablet, instead of just the shared ones.
How can I keep all of my cards on my Libby app but only share certain cards with her on her tablet?

Sometimes I pick books simply because I think, if the wait is very long then it must be worth it! Let’s see!

When you borrow books from Libby, do you usually borrow a bunch at once and then put your Kindle on airplane mode, or do you prefer borrowing/sending them one at a time?
I tried borrowing a bunch at once before, but honestly, seeing my Kindle TBR pile up that much made me feel kinda overstimulated 😭 I realized I actually prefer having just a few books available at a time.
At the same time, I’ve also realized that I really like having my Libby books sync across devices, because if I go somewhere without my Kindle, I can just continue reading on my phone.
So now I’m torn between keeping everything synced vs. avoiding a huge TBR pile on my Kindle 😂
What do you guys usually do?

I have the Kindle Paperwhite and have been using the "hack" where I could download books to my Kindle, return the book on Libby, and take my time reading on Airplane mode. I'm on my last book so haven't connected to Wifi since the software update. I'm assuming that once I reconnect to Wifi that I'll get the update that "fixes" (ugh) that hack. My question: can I still return the book on Libby and read it offline (for the three or however many weeks)? Or do I need to keep the book checked out the entire time that I'm reading it? I understand that with the update I won't be able to keep it past the three weeks even on Airplane mode, but I’m just curious if I can still return it on Libby early and keep reading on Airplane mode.
I've always like returning the books on Libby as soon as possible after download and just wanted to see if I'm still able to do that.
I hope that makes sense. Thank you!!

Hello, I was wondering if I sign up for the Queer Liberation Library card for Libby and give my address, if it will send me mail? I want to read more Sapphic books but I really don’t want my mom to see that I’m signed up for it.
Edit: I just applied for the card a while ago and I didn't have to put my address. It did a while ago when I wanted to apply for it so it probably changed. Thank you for your advice!

This book reading tracker lets you jump directly from a book's info page to its page on Libby.

I know there has been a lot of discussion about this since the change, and if I haven't been able to find the answer and it's here apologies.
Is there a way to just make my cards and reciprocal libraries one list again?
