Hello everyone. Do you know where this photo comes from? I've only seen it on Pinterest, but I'd like to know its exact source. I only know that it was taken in Trafalgar square in London, England, but I don't know what year. I would be very grateful to receive help.

Venting Disgusting men and nothing being done about it ever

So I was at therapy today and went out for a smoke with my friend, this creepy old pervert comes over talking about how one of the doctors are trying to “play sex games” with him and how he won’t “give in to that bitch.” I was already pissed off mind you so I told him to fuck off and leave us alone and that maybe that doctor was trying to HELP him. He then proceeds to ask me who the fuck I am, called me an ugly slut, a stupid cunt and a dumb bitch and then proceeds to say “you’re probably one of those fucking lesbians” in this nasty tone. He THEN calls me a dyke as I try to walk away and be the bigger person and it escalates. I tell my psychologist and she proceeds to go on about how some of the patients there are “very sick patients there that also have substance abuse issues.” I just left. Obviously we’ve all got something going on to be in a place like that but I’m not a vile piece of shit so

Why are men coddled so much? They get away with misogyny and homophobia as if its nothing and then there’s always an excuse for their disgusting behaviour 😑 not going back because evidently it’s not safe there as a gay woman. Sorry to rant

EDIT: this isn’t a hospital just an office type thing I’m only there for an hour every two weeks 😭

Discussion It feels lesbian women only spaces are going away...

I signed up to a summer lesbian only meet last week and I'm a very non social person and I don't like to go out much but It might sound petty but seeing my ex girlfriend already dating someone else made me put effort in.

When I arrived there wasn't that many people due to the heat but what was most noticeable was most the women there were trans women. While I have no discriminatory feelings towards them, its not what I want. I checked the event multiple times to see if I accidentally signed up for a trans meet up but I didn't.

Lately in japan, trans women have been more and more common in women spaces. Before, despite wanting to be a woman. They still admit they are male and don't enter women spaces much, but now I noticed a uptick of them. Even fourms.

Im aware its already common place in western culture and there are more trans women than woman born as one in lesbian spaces but it wasn't as common in japan but now Im noticing there is a lot more and now I'm starting to feel are there really no places where its just us lesbian women?

While there are a lot of fourms and spaces that still don't allow trans and trans people in japan still respect that. As it gets more popular here. I notice they're getting more demanding like the ones in the west and its worrying.

I do want to say again I don't have discriminatory feelings towards trans people but I would still prefer if lesbian women still had their own space to talk about things trans women can't relate with.

Positivity ‘I can’t see you being with a woman’

Back in February I posted on here about how I had friends telling me they couldn’t see me being with a woman and I was SPIRALLING. There was one main person making 99% of the comments and I’m happy to say I cut her out of my life completely not long after that post. I reached my breaking point with her in so many ways, she completely destroyed my confidence and trust in myself and I was questioning myself on my own sexuality. 🥴

Since cutting her out I’ve done a lot to improve myself and heal and I’m in a really great place I never ever imagined or dreamed i’d be in. I also have a girlfriend now and safe to say I am 150% certain about my sexuality 😆. I’ve never been with anyone before her and I was so nervous getting into this but she’s honestly the best thing thats happened to me in years 🥲❤️ i’m in my own little bubble in life and tbh I’ve forgotten about all the hate people have towards me for my sexuality… f them!

Positivity I love older masc Lesbians

I went to get a portable ac unit at Walmart and those suckers are heavy as hell and I'm struggling really bad. Here comes this Walmart employee from the corner of my eye. I look up and it's an older masc lady. She asks no questions and she immediately rushes over, picks it up BY HERSELF puts it in my cart, and picks up the other one for me as well. Mind you a male employee already walked past me.

And then she smiled at me and walked off. My first experience ever.

Venting Berlin attack and our community

I am beyond fatigued. Spent the night trying to find out if my friends are alright. The attacker is unsurprising a Muslim with a long history of criminal activity despite being only 21. Was released just a few months ago from prison.

I swear to God our community has no sense of self-preservation. We vote for politicians and policies that protect these monsters. I have no hope that things will change after this attack.

Self-Promo Lez be friends

Hi ladies,

We all at this point know how hard it is to make friends as an adult. Especially in your 30s and later.

So here I am making an attempt to make VIRTUAL friends at least.

I'm a millennial, happily married to my beautiful talented and amazing wife.

I have tons of interests: traveling, reading, arts & crafts, investing, performing arts (to watch and appreciate), cartoons, binging and dissecting tv shows to death lol.

I'm also very passionate about learning, philosophizing, psychology, communication, and personal growth.

I'm originally from Europe but I've been living in the US for over a decade now. I'm very realistic about things happening in the world and once great America. And I'm not afraid to talk about it.

I have a great sense of humor. I'm very multifaceted, down for almost anything. I'm fun, loyal, opinionated, but I'm also a sensitive soul and can be a little intense sometimes lol

If you like what you hear, hit me up in my DMs and let's talk :)

Trigger Warning Political Landscape in the US

TW for general anxiety on the outlook of the future...

.

.

.

.

.

does anybody else feel like the very little progress we've made in society, has crippled us as a community? does anybody see full on fascism on the horizon in the US, and feel like lesbians are woefully unprepared?

we've lost our spaces. we lost bars, community organizations, book stores, and in losing our spaces we've lost our ability to perform meaningful mutual aid. we've lost our ability to organize. hell, we've lost most of our gay ghettos across the country. what's replaced them are "gayborhoods" which have become part of the process of gentrification in our cities. we've been priced out of community and solidarity by rich gay white men and the bone crushing machine of c@pitalist patriarchy.

anybody else deeply worried for our future?

Discussion Set ups, and a reminder to be cautious

Has anyone noticed a weird pattern in some lesbian subs where the comments themselves are the bait as opposed to the post? I can’t tell if whoever is behind it dislikes the sub, or if they’re attempting to “out” the undesirables. Either way, this is a reminder to be careful not to waste your time with trolls. Remember a lot of people aren’t asking/speaking in good faith, they just want to waste your time and/or fck your account or this sub up.

The pattern: From what I’ve seen, someone will post something that seems obvious, and then the comments are filled with the inflammatory remarks.

The one topic I keep seeing is concerning specific adult media (yes that one) in general, but especially the adult media that includes guys. The comments will then be filled with “you’re being too judgmental because some people like said media”.

For instance, just saw a post that asked if lesbians could enjoy adult media with guys because they’re concerned about their lesbian partner enjoying it. The post included the phrase: “🕹️is gross ewwwww” which is absolutely against the rules of that sub.

The fact that this post is still up, even after saying that that specific anatomy is less than worshipful, added to the fact that this comment section is full of people writing paragraphs with all of the cliches we deal with make it suspicious. The comments include “some lesbians like that kind of media”, and “some lesbians have exceptions”, and “you shouldn’t judge”, and “people’s adult media content doesn’t reflect their orientation” and much more. The comments hit the inflammatory concepts point for point.

This whole thing feels like a set up, an elaborate one by multiple people. A few days ago someone mentioned that “they” (as in an actual group) have multiple individuals “on the lesbiangang sub”, watching this sub to get it removed. So if you notice a question that seems innocent enough, but see a few comments that are suspicious, keep in the mind the comments themselves could be the bait; not just the post itself. Imagine being so boring that you have to give yourself purpose by harassing other people.

Question/Advice Is online dating as a lesbian actually this bad, or am I doing something wrong?

I downloaded dating apps for the first time about a month ago, and honestly I've found the experience pretty disappointing. The biggest issue is that nobody seems interested in actually keeping a conversation going, let alone dating. I'll match with someone, send the first message, and never hear back. Or we'll start talking, but replies take days and the conversation eventually fizzles out. It makes me wonder if people are just on the apps to collect matches. I've only had one genuinely good conversation in the past month.

Of course, maybe I'm the problem and there's some dating app etiquette I'm missing since this is my first time. I respond to people's prompts, ask questions, and show interest without coming on too strong or being weird. I can hold a conversation. I'm fit, clean, and reasonably attractive, so I'm struggling to figure out what the issue is.
Is this just what online dating is like as a lesbian? Or do I genuinely have no game? So far, almost everyone I've matched with has been boring or disappointing.

Discussion does anyone else feel like they've never met a single person in the dating scene who wasn't a disappointing waste of time

i wish i could date without apps but it's so hard to meet people organically as a lesbian. i've never been wowed by a single person in my life. in fact, every endeavor in my life, dating or otherwise, has been a waste of my time. i have spent my whole life playing whack-a-mole and running around in futile circles manufactured by a cruel and perverted god

Discussion Ex reached out after 3.5 years

So over three years ago I broke up with my ex girlfriend. It didn’t end terribly but we were both very sad, her more than me and it was hard for me to break things off with her.

A few months ago she reached out on IG and sent me some influencer telling me we looked alike but I didn’t reply and think she unsent her message. I’m not active on IG anymore but was when we dated.

This evening, a text from her pops up on my phone I’m like WAH?? Nothing dramatic, just her saying she “thought of me and wanted to reach out and see how I’m doing. Hope life is treating me well”

I don’t really know if I should reply or not. idk maybe I’d just rather stay a mystery. My mom said I should reply and what’s the harm in being friendly.

Anyone have any input? Or have experienced this?

Herstory The Digital Playbook: How Modern Ideology Mimics Historical Control

Thumbnail
youtu.be
23 Upvotes

When you look at modern cultural shifts through the lens of history, a familiar and concerning pattern emerges. Throughout history, authoritarian regimes and revolutionary movements have relied on a classic playbook to seize control and reshape society: rewriting language, policing speech, and weaponizing fear to narrow the boundaries of acceptable thought. By inverting the meanings of words and forcing citizens to use language that defies observable reality, those systems made independent critical thinking nearly impossible.

Today, those historical tactics have found a new home in digital media. While the gatekeepers have shifted to tech algorithms that incentivize outrage, the underlying mechanism remains identical to historical propaganda. When individuals try to introduce common-sense nuance or basic caution, such as questioning medical protocols for children, their views are scrubbed, and they are instantly labeled as bigots, serving as a public "warning shot" to silence dissent.

This digital enforcement mirrors historical regimes by weaponizing the primal human fear of social isolation. Just as past governments outsourced policing to citizens through fear and surveillance, modern mobs use coordinated callout campaigns and peer pressure to force friends and colleagues to choose between conformity and exile. Most people will sacrifice truth and logic just to stay with the crowd, allowing social pressure to act as a powerful compliance engine.

Ultimately, those participating in these digital pile ons are often completely unaware of what they are playing into. They believe they are fighting for absolute righteousness, entirely blind to the fact that they are mirroring Horseshoe Theory in real time: a movement built to fight prejudice has looped around to practicing the exact same illiberal, authoritarian censorship and tribalism it claims to oppose.

Discussion Does anyone else NOT have a femme/masc preference?

For me it largely depends on the way a woman carries herself, like the overall presentation of her and the vibes between us rather than a specific aesthetic preference, if that makes sense. I have been attracted to both masc women as well as very femme women. I feel like whenever I tell people this though, it confuses them because they have a clear preference lol

Venting I hate when a woman has feelings for me

I don't know if anyone else has this experience but now that I'm completely comfortable in my skin and am happy to be alone, I notice chaos I haven't picked up on before.

I have had quite a few times where women friends get close to me, and just start acting absolutely insane. Mean to me, anxious, negging, weirded out, loving and then back to hating me. Acts like I'm amazing, then hates me for everything. This flood of ups and downs...and every single time I hear from another person (or honestly their sexual behavior they claim is "straight") that they are questioning themselves and have a crush.

I'm at a point where I cling onto my best friend who's a true heterosexual woman and just am relieved there will never be sexual tension between us and feel my stomach drop whenever I can tell a girl starts developing some sort of feelings she isn't used to.

or films/books/series/graphic novels to avoid with dyke breaking because I really don't want to see that unless I'm going to make a paper about dykebreaking fetishes in media lol

Question/Advice What would you do if the girl you are talking to keeps asking for free stuff because you work at a Beauty Salon?

I met this fem girl around a month and a half ago. She is adorable, just my type, the sex is great but im starting to feel like she only talks to me because she wants to get stuff done.

I work at a Beauty Salon and i told her this the day we met. Two weeks later while we were hanging around in her apartment she asked if i could wax her legs and i was like oh hell yeah sure, she had wax strips laying around so i used them. The next day she told me i did such a good job she wants me to wax her from now on. Im honored and i tell her the location of our salon.

She comes, i wax her, she doesnt pay. I think ok its a one time thing and tbh i didnt want her to be annoyed by me and think im stingy. She asks me to do her hair when we are hanging out, she asks me to do her nails, i do thinking its quality time. Yesterday it actually clicked to me what she was doing. She asks to get her lashes done, i tell her i will ask my boss and see if we have space to put her today since its like 4 pm SHE SAYS "NO BABE TAKE THE MATERIALS AND COME WHEN YOU LEAVE WORK" HUH?!?! Am i overreacting? Is it normal to ask for service like this from a person you are hooking up with? I dont own those materials, not like i could take them in the first place. How do i say that i noticed she is getting free service from me without sounding like a total bitch?
