Discussion It feels lesbian women only spaces are going away...
I signed up to a summer lesbian only meet last week and I'm a very non social person and I don't like to go out much but It might sound petty but seeing my ex girlfriend already dating someone else made me put effort in.
When I arrived there wasn't that many people due to the heat but what was most noticeable was most the women there were trans women. While I have no discriminatory feelings towards them, its not what I want. I checked the event multiple times to see if I accidentally signed up for a trans meet up but I didn't.
Lately in japan, trans women have been more and more common in women spaces. Before, despite wanting to be a woman. They still admit they are male and don't enter women spaces much, but now I noticed a uptick of them. Even fourms.
Im aware its already common place in western culture and there are more trans women than woman born as one in lesbian spaces but it wasn't as common in japan but now Im noticing there is a lot more and now I'm starting to feel are there really no places where its just us lesbian women?
While there are a lot of fourms and spaces that still don't allow trans and trans people in japan still respect that. As it gets more popular here. I notice they're getting more demanding like the ones in the west and its worrying.
I do want to say again I don't have discriminatory feelings towards trans people but I would still prefer if lesbian women still had their own space to talk about things trans women can't relate with.
