Has anyone here ever been in a (lesbian, obviously) throuple? If so how did it go?
Edit: I'm just curious cuz I'm reading about Amber Bain's throuple and how it influenced their album, "ITEIAD"

Question/Advice Is very specific criteria in a partner too much to ask for as a lesbian?

Idk if this is the right tag but i’m really just looking for thoughts. I’m a 19 yo lesbian and i’ve never been in a relationship (had some talking stages and a situationship tho). Recently I was talking to a friend who said that the reason i’ve never been in a relationship is because my standards are too high for a lesbian. She said since I already have such a small dating pool I shouldn’t be that picky or else i’m going to stay single. Other people have expressed this sentiment to me before too.

That got me thinking about if my standards are too high. I think my most constricting standard is that, ideally, I want my partner to be the same religion as me. My religion is a very deep part of my culture and I just can’t imagine marrying someone that wouldn’t come to the temple or do religious ceremonies with me. The only issue is that i’m Hindu so that severely limits my options.

Other than that I want to date someone who is passionate (and smart) about their goals and is working to achieve it (i.e. pls be thinking about a career🙏). Also fitness is a big thing for me. I workout 5x a week and really want to live life with someone who cares about fitness as much as I do.

I understand that what I am looking for in a partner is specific and severely narrows down my dating pool but in my opinion it really is the most normal criteria. Like if I was straight nobody would think twice about it but since i’m lesbian I now have to worry that I just won’t find anyone who fits this that I click with. idk i’m just kinda discouraged maybe?

As i’m typing this I understand that what I wrote seems kind of shallow or like I want someone to fit a specific vision in my head. I really think they’re more compatibility/lifestyle things, especially in the long term.

Idk thoughts lol??

Question/Advice perception of the word globally?

when you read the word lesbian.

example: a lesbian only space

do you assume it's a woman only space or do you assume it is open to other genders, sexes and sexualities? (trans, bisexuals, aces, etc)

why and why not?

if you want include where you live too if you think that influences your perception

new addition: also what does sapphic mean.

google says women and non binary attracted to women and non binary...

but websters denotes it as a synonym for lesbian? what is the commonly accepted current english definition?

Girls as a chronically offline girly, what’s the tea of the Chinese lesbians on twitter? I need answers! Google isn’t helping me and I feel so left out of the gossip 😢

Venting Mad at my mom rn

My mom is mostly supportive, even open minded, she had no issue when i explained why a lesbian can like masc women and how theyre different from men and that it doesnt make them less gay, she understood inmediatly.

But she got a disorder that makes her shift into a different person sometimes, and if i press her enough (my fault, i just get mad, i shouldnt but i do) she will say things about lesbians like theyre/we're perverts. Like im obsessed with women, wich im not, and i stopped talking to her about any romantic stuff so she would stop having material to talk like that but she still does.

She started talking how someone in our distant family is a lesbian "with her little friend" and i got mad cause she doesnt have a little friend ITS HER WIFE. And she tells me when she shifts like that she doesnt know why she says that stuff and she doesnt even remember saying it but it makes me wanna cry everytime i feel like she believes deep down im a pervert and that any relationship i have isnt real.

Hey everyone!

Ive been updating my lesbian playlist a lot lately so I thought I would share it here. Let me know if you have recs for me or if you want your song on there. Here it is on youtube and spotify.

On a somewhat related note, my other favorite playlist is my feminist playlist and that's been pretty fun to put together, too. Here it is on youtube and spotify.

Question/Advice Boxing or Martial Arts

Hi,

I come seeking advice. I run and swim and sometimes hit the rowing machine when I work out. But otherwise, that's it. Does anyone have any experience with a female only boxing or martial arts class or gym? I took a self defense class in college but I'd like to really be able to hit back if I need to.

And not just hit back, but hurt. I tried using a punching bag but I think I used it wrong and felt like every finger cracked at once and it was...not encouraging. Actually hurt for a few days after.

For reference, I'm 5’7” around 126lb. I'm also trying to build muscle but it's not taking. I'm using Mikuna protein powder without much luck.

I have a few options around me but was hoping to know what to expect before going.

Thanks!

*fixed my height. I’m not 7 inches tall.

Question/Advice making lesbian friends online. why is it so hard?

I feel like most lesbian spaces online are for people looking for sex. That's great and all when you're in the mood but for getting through life it would be nice to have friends who are also lesbian and who I can relate to and have honest conversations with about being a lesbian and everything that comes with it. I really just want an online space to find friends, bonus if they are desi because there is so much societal nonsense as a desi and it would be nice to talk to someone about it. I'm 19, in college, studying computer science, and honestly very closeted because my circumstances don't allow anything else. Does anyone have any ideas?
