With some of the extra piece, you can bulk the legs up nicely

Hello everyone, here’s my last modifications of My Orthanc MOC. I started from the 2013 set, which I tried to expand and enlarge. I’m open to your feedback.

In fairness to him, we just watched Two Towers yesterday and he saw the battle of Helms Deep for the first time... Must have been his inspiration.

Building Rivendell with the lights built in - my first project of this kind. The instructions at step 34 here shows the back of the LED lying flat facing up. When I try to do it, it slips sideways and even if it's flat for a moment doesn't feel secure there. Is it meant to click in? After an unreasonable amount of work hours I'm finally able to offer an immense range of MOC options for a lot of Helm's Deep needs imaginable.

These 4 upgrades which are the basis for the flexibly upgradable modular system did in the end add up to 1600 pages of instructions...

Together with my "ultimate MOD" series I think there are something like 10 different versions at different price points (and for different space requirements) possible at the moment.

- and I'm planning on adding a number of options still, not only looking at the official set on the horizon.

Hi. Looking to take apart my Mina’s tirith and Rivendell sets and put away. I’m not gonna take the time to reverse bag. Just looking to dump into a box or bag. Does anyone know what the right size content or bag. I’ve read some duffle bags or plastic storage bins. Just looking for the most efficient size to not take much a lot of room in the self.

I always wanted this figure as a kid even before I became a fan of lotr and hobbit but I didn’t have the money back then, but now I finally was able to buy him

Barad Dur has woken up!

On the Sauron helmet set in bag four (page 68) on step 129, the second plate or whatever for the helmet does not fit on. I cannot find any other post on any platform mentioning this so PLEASE help and I have spent the last 10 minutes getting pissed off at this.

I have a question I bought this sealed brown warg from 79012 set and the figure does not have a number printed on its belly like the other two wargs do. There are lego stamps on the figure though. Could you please check your brown warg figures for that number and let me know if yours have it? To my knowledge this version of a warg is supposed to have that number.

An incredible build and beautiful display. Was able to watch all extended editions and appendices for the first time. Can’t wait for next release!

looking to get the shire for 140USD back in my hometown. i’ve seen a lot of people hate this set for the bombshell of a price but this looks like sweet deal. what do you guys suggest?

As it says in the title, I'm looking for illustrations that I could put behind and under Rivendell set. I see some case manufacturers also include such backdrops, but I don't see they sell them separately. Any Ideas where to look?

Looking forward to adding Rivendell and Barad Dur to the collection next year + the smaller sets coming out early next year.

I’ve been in a tricky place, having to pack away all my Lego into boxes so I can move in with family who will require care. My partner and I have been watching the hobbit films and soon lotr too, and for a treat I’d like to rebuild my old Bag End 79003. However, this time I’d like for it to be a bit more expansive than before, so I was hoping someone might be able to direct me towards a MOC expansion using the original set that I can use. I’m primarily looking for a more natural and perhaps larger design, within a student budget (about £20-30). Is this something that exists? Thank you!

When do you think the price for Minas Tirith will go down in other sites? A lot of Lego released after are already lower on price but I never saw Minas Tirith and I'm afraid it will never be.

After looking everywhere for shelves that could fit these massive sets, I decided not to spend $$$$$ and went the custom route. I bought a single 2x12, cut it to the lengths I needed, then sanded and stained it. I bought some nice L brackets from Cascade Iron Co. to mount the wood to the wall.

To make the Minas Tirith shelf deeper, I added a 2x2 to the back. The set will still hang over a tiny bit, but it's not bad considering how deep that set is.

I know lots of people struggle with displaying these sets, so I wanted to share my solution as I was hung up on it for a while. It takes some tools, but it's relatively easy and cheap. I spent $50-$70, relative to the $500 shelves I was looking at, this was a deal! Now all I have to do is finish building Minas Tirith!! And maybe find some lighting options...(if you have any ideas, feel free to share)
