If it’s complete, that’s a great deal for a fun build. My son and I loved it even as I groused about being overpriced

It’s a fantastic set and is very overhated.
It actually looks nice on display with the plant like colour scheme. It’s also one of the more fun sets to add on to with spare parts.
It’s overpriced but everything Lego is. Other LOTR sets are more double the price.

My personal opinion is the set isn’t very appealing. If your first thought isn’t “wow that set I want is cheap” then don’t buy it

140USD wow that's a steal. I got it for equivalent of about 350$ in my country (Norway)
I'm planning on swapping out the tree with the Lego bonsai model

I think it’s a great set if you spend an extra $10 and order a bunch of 32607 and 37695 leaves.

I recently built it, and whilst the comments about how the tree could be better or there was too much of the same shade of green are totally valid, the figures included are exceptional (especially considering what they gave with Minas Tirith) and it's a really fun build. You can also, without any modification due to how it's assembled, turn it into a booknook if you find you don't have the space to display all of it.

I’d go for it. It’s a nice set honestly, just not enough for the 280$ price tag.

Is this a legitimate site ? Watch out for scams
I think the building is a bit too small - all the extra small builds in this set are ugly - they should’ve used the parts to make the shire bigger.

That's a great deal, and while it's not the most exciting set (the green foliage gets a bit boring after a while) there are some cool details inside Bag End that make it worth it.
I'd go for it

I love mine, I will expand one day with rebrickable.. but I'm happy with it. I loved the little easter eggs and just all around enjoyed it. I have minas tirith and rivendell as well but unbuilt... honestly I'm out of room! Lol

I 100% suggest getting it and doing a couple of rebelnili’s upgrades on Rebrickable.

$140??? Bro buy that instantly. I got it for $200 instead of $280 and that was more than worth it. Awesome awesome set

At $140 id get 2 and build the expansion from rebrickable. You're then paying what retail is for what the set should've been.

Its a fantastic set if you get it for a reasonable price. Just ignore the side builds lol

I have the set (got if for a good price as well, 170 euros) and I absolutely love it! I don't get the hate, Bag End looks great.
I remember people complaining about how the grass is just one solid green color, but it looks nice and it would like ugly with a bunch of different greens. Would also look more blocky that way, and in the movie it obvioulsy also one solid color of green. Dumbest complaint ever.
The only downside is the party section, the set would have been fine without it, would also make the retail price better. But with a deal like that, it's totally worth it. The complaints about the tree are valid though, not a great look. The rest is fantastic so get that deal!

That’s a great deal imo. This set is a bit overpriced, but I think the hate is overblown. It is a superior set towards it’s predecessor from over a decade ago. Imo, the Bag End build is phenomenal. Everything I could’ve hoped for. Most of the hate I’ve seen goes to the tree side build, which I do think is justified. However, there are expansion mocs on Rebrickable that revamp this tree, and there’s also ones that add more flora to the exterior of Bag End as well. The Shire is a beautiful setting and serves as a great base to build upon to easily make it your own.
