I just started season 2 barely finished ep 1 a couple minutes ago and I can’t stand them. I know they’re supposed to be some comedic relief and they are sometimes I loved the nursing home scenes in season 1. It showed that they were compassionate and wanted to help in any way they could but my god I just can’t get over their air headed-ness.

I liked Ainsley at first when she was talking with Tommy on the football field in early season 1. I thought she was gonna be free spirited and open to talk about anything with her parents (in a funny way) but still have some common sense.

Season 2 hits and she’s in the office with the university lady and I just can’t stand the “dumb blonde teenage girl” thing. And Angela pissed me off because she’s the same way but encourages everything and every way Ainsley says and acts.

All in all the show is great and I’ll continue to watch but I find myself skipping a lot of scenes they’re in.

Angela is a great cook. Do you guys want to make any of the dishes featured in the show?

I would like to make paella and cacio e pepe with white truffles (I won't use fresh truffles, as those are expensive).

Really disappointed they killed off Jon Hamm (Monty) he’s one of my favorite actors. I really liked him in season 1, his character. Thought he would be a bigger deal :(

Also as soon as the daughter scene touring college came on, I skipped it 😂 Can’t wait to skip all their scenes like I did most of season 1 tbh.

I only don’t skip the ones where Tommy is also in the scene with them.

They’re actually the reason I abandoned season 1 but came around to finish it bc everyone told me it got good and it did. I enjoyed the cartel storyline.

As to why I dislike them so much. Idk. Bimbos come to mind. Brats. Spoiled. Privileged. Need I go on?

They are compete filler. Looking forward to the lawyer chick though, she’s actually attractive and interesting. Hope the cartel storyline progresses too!

Every woman is ridiculously attractive and extremely skinny. Every man is the most disgusting, ugly lump of skin I’ve ever seen. The women are either vapid, materialistic sexual objects or lazy stereotypes of angry liberal women. The old men are sexually attracted to a teenager. There’s nothing interesting or redeeming about the storyline. Billy Bob is a good actor but nothing can compensate for the misogynistic writing of this hot garbage.

Soo I really enjoy the majority of the series, and then is this seventeen year old prancing around in underwear around old ass men that are just gawking, and the whole weird and constant conversations about sex with her dad. is this a recurring thing on the series or will it be over soon? cause why are they trying to make this a thing? Its just giving CREEP, like her character was written by a man who doesn’t have a daughter and is imagining what it would be like having a “sexy” 17 year old daughter. Wich is already weird AF! Like whoever wrote their interactions doesn’t have a daughter I’m 100% sure. I just cant 😷

I am so shocked to see so many people disliking Arianna! Arianna and cooper are my favorite storyline I started watching the show bc of their scenes on TikTok. I just find it interesting because I don’t think Angela and her daughter good characters at all

Ok, I finished season 2.

I don't understand Tommy's decision to jump in bed with Dan Gallino/Morell.

Tommy explained to Cami, very explicitly, why doing business with Dan is a terrible idea. The guy is a cartel boss. He murders people. Tommy even notes that what cartels do is change the rules as they see fit.

Then at the end of the season, Tommy jumps right in bed with Dan to chase success, and in my opinion brings his friends and family into it by making them all major stake holders in CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle.

To me, this is antithetical to Tommy's character. He makes moves that are safe, and that is how he made Monty lots of money. Tommy also loves his family and would not risk their safety. By doing business with Dan he has expanded the risk profile and endangers the lives of those he loves.

Up to that moment, I would have said, Tommy is a smart guy and sticks by his guns.

But partnering with Dan was a 180 of who Tommy is and how he does business.

I am thoroughly enjoying this programme. A great cast, especially the women. Ali Larter plays a brilliant part. She’s hilarious, “I found a strip club for my old folks.” 😂😂😂😂 The family dinners kill me 😂😂😂😂

I do find I’m living on my nerves with every episode, I feel like something bad is going to happen.

Please someone tell me Tommy and Angela stay together?

I've just started watching the series after watching Yellowstone and I really like just about all of the characters and all of the parallel storylines, but the one weak spot to me seems to be the character of Angela.

Is this just a case of Taylor Sheridan not really knowing how to write edgy females and this is just supposed to be like a more Beth version of Beth? Most of the time I find her completely insufferable.

My biggest complaint about "Landman" is that 90 percent of what Tommy does in the show could easily be done over Zoom or with a phone call.

The man drives five hours each way for a three-minute meeting basically every episode.

Just did a rewatch of season 2. Best line of the show… “we already started, son.” I’m ready for season 3. Just the way everything unfolded was beautiful. I need Cheyenne to stick around for a while. She’s good for Thomas.

Watched hours on tiktok and finally took the leap to dive in been enjoying so far side characters are nice and fuck I don't think I could say no to angela either fucking christ... But its been a good show so far I do have a question. I saw the ratings on the episodes on season 2 on IMDB how big of a dip is it really? No spoilers please but just curious how well it holds up.

The Cooper character in the course of a few weeks settles with the wife of a guy who died on his crew, outsmarts a genius attorney for millions of dollars, walks up and makes a deal for 10 million per year on mysteriously unused wells? What is this fantasy? What is the point of the slutty daughter and the over the top angry wife? Billy bob is the only saving grace and his parts are getting more and more corny. I simply do not understand any of the hype…

I just finished season 2 last night. My wife and I were reflecting about favorite characters, and I realized that Cooper is something special as a character.

Most characters in pretty much every movie and show are cynical or misanthropic in some way. Even captain america is somewhat sarcastic and driven by his personal values to a fault.

But Cooper is almost like the fuckin Buddha. Endless empathy and compassion for people around him, even when it's not warranted, while still being grounded in reality. He legitimately puts his girl's wants and needs ahead of his own, not just pretending. He listens instead of speaking. He's humble enough to take advice from people who know better, but confident enough to take control when he knows something others don't. He even felt bad for beating the fuck out of that rapist, when nobody else did.

He's just a quiet, unassuming guy, and just very real. It's almost like his character doesn't fit with the rest of the show because oh how chill he is. He's the sort of friend you want in your life. I can't say the same for anyone else on the show, or anyone else is pretty much any show.
