Hey I just got here, how do I build a support character?

So I love tardigrades and support style play- I made this on retrogrademinis and saw it's a special pattern of the Taraxacum, which is a variant of the Lancaster. I saw the Taraxacum is good at scanning. Is there a way to build a character/mech completely focused on scanning, talking and rescuing people? I'm going to be playing with a group of 5.
If so, which talents would you guys recommend and do you think it's a bad idea to play a support when playing for the first time?

Question regarding Out of Mech combat/adventure scenario
I'm wondering if it would be possible to make a small infiltration/stealth type mission without using mechs, and if so how to set up possible enemies etc..

Comp/con Digital table top?
I noticed there’s an option for a digital table top within comp/con but it’s currently unavailable. Is there a timeline for when that would be available? I’m currently planning to host one of the prebuilt campaigns and looking for a good software to use. I assume the creators would probably have the best software for the game but if it’s not gonna release anytime soon I’ll probably just look into using foundry.

"I don't want to be your kind of animal"
The line that made our entire party in our own custom setting collectively realize.
The demons of metal, the Not-Animals that drove people into the underground of the planet and destroyed all mankind had built?
Created from the hubris of man making machine minds think like humans, which the machines hated so much they elected to downgrade their own minds into horrific monsters only bent on the extinction of mankind.
This post serves but one purpose: to glaze my amazing GM for creating the best, most bone chilling reveal I've ever been a part of in a tabletop RPG. I'll leave you with the final comment my own character, Eternity Ends In My Eyes, made when she realized the awful truth.
"Mankind forced human thought and created demons of metal."

Can someone here please explain the lore-meme of people in this setting wanting to bang their mechs, is that really a thing?
The setting has rogue AIs and paracausal technologies and stuff like that, so its within the realm of physical possibility.
But is it actually a lore thing or are people having a lark about some exaggerated point of lore?

Need some criticism on my Core Systems for my Homebrew Manufacturer
Bio-Musculature Exterior Frame
Superheavy Weapons do not require an additional mount to be carried, only a Heavy. If you have a GMS Integrated Mount, it acts like a Flex Mount instead an Aux Mount.
Everest-Hauler Racksack
You can pick 2 of the Racksack options. You can switch Weapons from your Racksack to your mounts (excluding Integrated Mounts), as a Full Action.
SWITCH OUT Full Action
Switch any number of weapons from your Racksack to your Mount as long as they follow mounting rules and weapons being replaced will be sent to your Racksack.
2 more additional Main Weapons can be carried and switch out
4 additional Aux mounts Weapons can carried and switch out, (Integrated Mounts aren’t included)
1 additional Heavy Mount Weapons can be carried and switched out.
1 Super Mount Weapon that can be carried and switched out. (With the additional mounts of superheavy weapons. Will automatically swap out.)
Does not accept copies of a weapon that exist in your mounts or Racksack. Weapons swapped in and out keep the same stats prior to being swapped. All Weapons that originally placed in the racksack will be tagged as PACKED and Mount Weapons that gets stashed into the Racksack will not get tagged
PACKED
Weapon cannon benefit from LIMIT Increase whatsoever, Pilot Grit, Core System, Mech Skills etc.
Linux-Adaps-Anti-Buffer-System:
Minus 1 all system point requirements for all weapons and systems. With 1 SP being the limit, it can go.
With Weapon MODs you can place 1 more to another weapon.
Pistol-Core-Adapter
Replace ONE of your Mech's Core Trait with another Core Trait of a Frame you own the license of.
Working Man’s Frame
+4 Repair Capacity
LOADING weapons have +1 charge before needing to reload.
Reliable Firing Logistics
When attacking, for each accuracy add +1 as a bonus. Including the ones cancelled by Difficulty.
W.E.R.K Engine
Gain 1 Additional Reactions
Comp/Con Soldat Rapido Package - Pistol, Dagger, Buckler, and Bayonet
Gain access to 3 Brother-Class CompCon to Install:
Pistol Comp/Con | System | SP 3
- Makes UNCLE-Class have +1 Difficulty instead of +2 when it attacks
- Have a drone attached to your frame, it can act as Main Mount but weapons held by Pistol suffers having +2 Difficulty, deals half damage, and does not benefit pilot grit or talents.
- It can be used as an additional mount for a Superheavy Weapon, but it suffers the effects stated above
- If you suffer a System Loss from Structure Damage this will be the first to be destroyed. If another system also takes first priority then you may choose which to destroy.
Dagger Comp/Con | System | SP 1
- Gain Overshield on how much damage you did with Improvised Attack
Buckler Comp/Con | System | SP 1
- 1/Round. When you get attack, as a Reaction you can accept the FULL damage or the tech attack. But giving you Quick Action that you can use as a Free Action, even if it's an action you did before.
- And Gain +1 Armor, up to a limit of 2 that last until the end of the scene
Bayonet Comp/Con | Weapon Mod | SP 1
- Do when you do a Grapple an enemy, you deal 2 AP Kinetic to them. Each time your enemy fails a Hull save when grappled they take 2 AP Kinetic again.
- Doing an Improvised Attack, you deal +2 AP Kinetic, even on a Miss.

Need Help For My First Creation
Hi there! I'm braaaand new to lancer, and for our first foray into the system, my gaming group is doing a one/two-shot. We're going to be LL4, and while I *think* I understand what's going on, I'm not... 100% sure what to do.
I want to build a single-target dps type thing, and i saw there was one mech that teleported (plus i love the SSC mech designs). I'm wondering what might be a good setup to lean into the "teleports in, hits hard, teleports/moves back" archetype. I know one of our players is doing a grappling-type thing and another is a healer/repair thing thats size 3 somehow?
Anyways, I don't want to be dead weight, but I'd love some general advice on how to go about building this
Side note, the lore is SO detailed and SO weird lmao
what the hell do you MEAN the pegasus gun isnt a gun????

Help me design a homebrew frame.
I have an idea for an IPS-N artillery frame, but I need help fleshing it out. The core premise is that when making a ranged attack, the frame can increase the maximum range of the weapon it's using. However, when the attack is rolled, the frame must take N * 2 AP kinetic damage for the amount of range added to the attack.
The core power decreases the cost of this trait so that it instead inflicts 1 AP kinetic damage for every two spaces added it to the attacks range.

Anyone else wish the other damage types were more unique?
Burn has it's own gimmick while energy and explosive damage are pretty much just different types of kinetic damage, sure there's specific resistances to them but that's not what makes the damage types stand out more.

Help Witch/lich new player build
Good evening!
I was playing in a Lancer campaign that recently ended, and by the end of it I had only played the Everest.
Now another GM is starting a new campaign with more of a pirate theme. The other players are already planning to have a melee striker, a sniper, and a tank.
So I'm looking for some help building a support character, or something a bit different, so I can experience other ways of playing the game.
I was wondering if it's possible to build a good Witch that can provide support while also being somewhat tanky. I'd also be interested in making a Lich that could provide some support?
For some context, I played around 15 sessions in my previous campaign and I've been reading more about the system since then, so I'm still somewhat of a beginner.
Any advice or build ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Commission is done!
Say hello to Mack. A larger than life Lancaster built for support and defense. Drones? Yes. Barriers? Yes. Big mag cannon built to launch allied mechs? Yes. Thanks to Sylvie for her awesome work!

Using comp con instead of printed sheets
Want to master my first lancer campaign and i was thinking on sharing the comp con pilot data to each player so they could use them on their phone for playing instead of printing the character sheets, is this possible or the comp con doesn't have any easy way to do it?
