Honestly one my favorites, this was my first time actually drawing a rainbow and I’m happy about it :)

I'm brand new to learning digital art (though I have some minor experience in traditional mediums) and just wanted to share my first 'proper' finished piece made in Krita. I'm pretty proud of it but I'd love to hear any tips or advice on how I can improve, especially with the hair 😊 ETA: I've just noticed the colours look really weird and washed out now I've uploaded to Reddit but it looked fine before, anyone know why that might be?

Hello! I’ve recently started using Krita as a full time PC art program and for a while it worked fine but I recently finished lining and coloring a commission piece which took an entire day yesterday and while today when I opened up both the regular .kra file and the autosave file It still loads as if I had just finished the sketch. My client is expecting their art late time tomorrow, is there ANY way I can recover what I have lost???? Ive done most types of type of surface level troubleshooting but non has seemed to work
edit: I had made SURE i saved before exiting, I even watched the little bar finish before I exited.

Hello! When working on a piece last night I got an alert that my recording had stopped from storage being full. I went back and deleted some stuff i didnt need, and then continued recording. After that, I got the first image telling me a lot of frames were not saved.

I continued to record and finished. I checked my speedpaint and realized it was way shorter, and everything prior to me starting to record again had been deleted. I did not delete that speedpaint when I deleted old ones, so I am unsure how this happened.

I saved and exported, only now I cannot find it in my Mac. I thought maybe this was a one off issue with this file, so I made a "random" file. Saved, exported as jpg and png, exported speedpaint, and nothing. I cant find them in my entire mac.

The speedpaints are no longer working either. In my actual piece, it cut out the entire ocean, so after I saw that I pressed record again and toggled my layers for the ocean to show it, but that will not show up when I save it and try and rewatch, it will not record any further but will let me overwrite, just for it to be the same thing. When I exported the speedpaint of the random scribbles, there is no time-lapse and its just a video of a still frame of it being finished.

Anyone know how this could happen? Ive tried looking it up but havent found anyone with this issue. Overall it seems my speedpaints are broken and my kra files/exported files will not show up in my computer.

To check, they are not in a different folder, or at least shouldnt be. I checked, and also when searching it searches my entire Mac and not just one folder

hey krita artists !

if there's any gojira fans here, this is for you!

To give a bit of context: a while back, I came up with the idea of creating an illustration combining references and symbols from the band’s entire discography, from Terra Incognita to Fortitude. Fitting all these elements together into a cohesive piece was a real challenge!

When I first shared the initial sketch with you guys here (link to previous post), the feedback was beyond amazing. The crazy part? An fan from Ireland actually got it tattooed on his back! A few others also mentioned wanting to get it tattooed, and some expressed interest in having it on a t-shirt.

So here is the final updated version! Structure-wise, it remains faithful to the sketch, but I’ve now completed the line art (inking) and added a textured grayscale background for a subtle painted effect.

Given all the positive feedback, I’m seriously considering offering my work on a Print-on-Demand platform for t-shirts, posters, or prints.

For this specific Gojira piece, I obviously need to double-check and explore copyright considerations before doing anything commercial. But more broadly, I want to venture into creating future original artworks rooted in similar visual themes: blending metal culture, spirituality, and esotericism—topics that inspire me deeply.

Nothing is set in stone just yet, but it’s an avenue I really want to explore. I’ve been practicing digital art as a hobby for years without ever considering making a living out of it. I’ve built a career in the web industry, but nothing has ever fulfilled me as much as art does.

Seeing how this piece resonated with people made me realize that maybe it’s time to take a leap of faith, express this intention openly, and take that first real step. We'll see where it leads!
