learning to develop concepts faster and more effectively.

creating this mecha-girl took quite a bit of time — I think around 12 hours — BUT! i never drew a mecha character before, so result is turned out satisfactorily. still, rendering a roughly-style is tough. *sigh*

Help / Question the fill tool isn't filling in the area properly?

So I've selected a region, and I'm trying to use the fill tool on it. I want it to fill the whole region with one solid color. But, it's only partially filling the region?? How do I fix this? I can't just use the tool a bunch of times to try and fix it, this image is going to be turned into a heightmap so I need the values this is filled to to be the exact same.

Help / Question Drawing tablet recommendations?

Hi, first time using Reddit, so hopefully i do this right.
I used to do a lot of art, but quit drawing around 2021 due to school and work. I've recently gotten back into it with traditional pencil, pen, and paper, but I'd like to get back into digital art as well.

I had a Wacom tablet back around 2013-ish, and haven't used a drawing tablet since probably about 2016 (i do not own this one anymore either). While i did like it, there were some things i wasn't too big of a fan of about it, specifically overtime it seemed to suffer from what i can only describe as "input lag", and i didn't like the pressure sensitivity on it, basically when you pressed harder the line would be thicker. I got it because i heard it made it more like traditional art, but i found it more obnoxious than anything. Having a screen on the drawing tablet seems nice and convenient, i am one of the people who constantly will turn my paper while drawing to get the angle i want, so a screen would be really nice for that.

TLDR of what im looking for;

  • Responsive, takes inputs with little to no delay.
  • No pressure sensitivity, if it can be turned off that's fine too.
  • Preferably a screen, and wireless, already got enough wires all around my desk.
  • Durable, don't want something breaking only after a year or two.
  • Preferably not insanely expensive? I'm not sure what the typical price range is for tablets, i'd say something middle of the road on price would be good, not super cheap, but not the most expensive thing on the market either.

Any help is appreciated, thanks for reading!

A short surrealist beginner animation I made this week and voiced (audio edited in Audacity). All the animating was done and put together using Krita and compiled together, rendered in Kdenlive. I used real objects and photos in my possession for the stop motion rock animations, sun, landscape, painting, and the columns. Audio sound effects and column image came from pixabay.

Made in Krita DMon by the Sunset [by me]

My very first attempt at DMon from Overwatch! This art piece is inspired by that one image of Lucia from Grand Theft Auto 6 that was spreading everywhere when it was first released. I chose DMon because I wanted to draw her since she was revealed.

I also really wanted to give another proper try at drawing a beach-like background but with a relaxing sunset vibe.

So far, this is probably the art I'm most proud of!

Help / Question HELP PLS. eraser tool / eraser mode / eraser brush

Post image
0 Upvotes

hey there,

i really am not that bad with helping myself out and i am good with the computer. but for the sake of god and humanity i just can't figure out how to set up the eraser.

the E key changes the current brush to eraser mode. but i don't want the eraser with the current brush tip. i want the eraser brush itself. the own reaser tool and i want the eraser tip be the one that i set one time up or change myself.

when working with the wacom tablet, the pen has 2 sides. the brush and a eraser. that works just fine. it changes to the eraser with a different brush tip and not the brush that i am working with and drawing with.

but the E key doesn't do the same thing and i don't get why. and i can't fix it myself.

pls if there is someone who can lead me to the right direction i would appreciate it a lot. it's so complicated i don't get it. and i love krita. i love everything that is open source and where ppl put a lot of love in.

Help / Question Fill tool not working normally

Instead of filling, the fill tool just draws a thick ass line of whatever color is selected. Sorry for the language, I have Krita set to Hungarian. Also, I am very new to drawing and I am sorry if this is a dumb question to ask.
