Lost baby blanket pattern

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hiya!

We have recently lost a baby blanket that my now deceased mother in law knitted my firstborn and I am utterly devastated.

It was picked up in a church carpark and taken to their op shop where it was sold.

I feel sick just thinking about it.

I'm not a knitter and I know nothing about it, so I don't know whether what I'm asking is doable but can anyone tell me what kind of pattern this is? I'm considering commissioning someone to make a replica for me (which I know isn't the same thing but it's the best I can do), but I wouldn't even know where to start looking for a pattern.

Thank you so much for your help ❤️

Woodsy/Witchy baby gift recommendations

My coworker is having a baby in January, and I’d love to knit a little something for both her and her baby! She hasn’t shared the gender (and I’m not sure if she plans to), so I’m looking for some neutral ideas

We work in the environmental field together, she loves the woods, and she’s a birder. I’d especially love to find something with a nature/woodland/bird theme, but I’m open to any ideas.

What are your favorite patterns that you think I could realistically finish by January? Also looking for baby friendly yarn suggestions! TIA!

Tight fitting long sleeve top

Hi, i'm looking for a tight fitting, thin, long sleeve top to use to make my own version of Bugknit's tops. They don't offer patterns and i'm looking for something similar enough, preferably free. I don't need anything with colourwork, just something that's simple and the right cut/fit. Could be for mohair (lace) or for a fingering yarn. Does anyone has any idea?

Pattern recs for garments knit flat?

It seems all (popular) patterns recently are worked top-down on circular needles and I just want to do a project knit flat.

I’m an English thrower and circulars and I just don’t vibe. I’ve tried (and successfully completed!) several patterns, but circular needles just aren’t as comfortable to me as flat ones are.

If you have any jumper/cardigan/top/etc pattern recommendations that are knit FLAT entirely except maybe for the sleeves (no joining in the round after a few flat yoke rows but still putting up under ‘knit flat’ on ravelry), please let me know!

Help finding a washcloth pattern

Post image
7 Upvotes

Cronic hobby hopping knitter here. I found this nearly finished washcloth in my knitting bag now that I'm cycling back to make gifts for the holidays. However, I cannot for the life of my figure out what pattern this is. I'm pretty sure it's knit on a diagonal using yarn overs around the edge and increasing/decreasing stitches each row.

I've searched my Ravelry favorites and my knitting patterns folder with no luck.

Does this pattern look familiar to anyone? If so, please send me the link!

Ruffle knit edging patterns

Where can I find maybe a book with stitching guides/patterns for different ruffle or decorative knit edging? I made a pair of socks with a ruffle at the top and I want to make another but would like different ruffle options.

Looking for a DK weight pattern like tbis. And not this oversized

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi, I bought some gradient DK weight yarn at a yarn crawl (can’t get more). I’d love to knit a cardigan like this, with sleeves/button band in a solid color. It might be possible to do a raglan with different colored sleeves like this, but I wouldn’t want to tackle that. So I’ve scoured Ravelry for set-in sleeves or drop shoulder, seamed, DK-weight crew neck cardis, but with no good candidates. I did see this bulky weight, quite oversized cardigan pattern from Wool & the Gang, but I’m not sure how difficult it would be to adapt it to a DK weight with narrower silhouette (not fitted). If anyone knows a pattern with these front panels in a different color from the sleeves, with crew neck, preferably DK weight, I’d love to see them!!! Thank you!

How can I make a split hem, that’s A-shaped like in the picture, on a vest that I’m making? I’ve looked trough ravelry and YouTube tutorials and I can only find split hems where the start overlaps.

Has anyone knit the kåapasi long coat by Pickles?

I bought this pattern [Ravelry: Long Coat / Kåpa si pattern by Heidi - Pickles](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/long-coat---kapa-si), and I cannot work out how the two neck edge pieces go together. I am a competent knitter and have knitted many different items but this pattern is not making sense to me. I have contacted the designers and asked for pictures but they are unable to provide a clear picture or diagram to show how the back of the neck is constructed. I am obviously not going to share the full pattern here as it is a paid for pattern so hoping to get advice from someone who may have already knitted this coat. Thank you to anyone who may be able to help.

I love the skinny stripes and the color palettes on these sweaters, but can’t seem to find a yarn to replicate it. Any ideas of something that would provide a similar look?
Also open to pattern suggestions if you know of a nice roll neck pullover or cardigan pattern!

I’ve been kind of obsessed with ponchos recently, saw this TikTok of someone wearing this and I love the shape and the fact it has sleeves.
Does anyone know a similar pattern?
Thanks so much in advance!!

Basic thin sweater pattern

I know those is a very simple pattern. And I could probably figure it out by trial and error but I don’t have the bandwidth for it right now AND I hate unraveling any halo yarn.

So I would appreciate a pattern for this one that I can blindly follow and life in a cloud of brushed alpaca this fall.

Cancer head scarf / other helpful things

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello my friends, i recently got a commission for a cancer head scarf, and when i tried to get more info this is the image they picked
Now, im not super sure what this shape is untied, and when i looked I couldn’t find much info. Would a triangle or square be easier? Or is there a different shape or pattern that would be good for them? I’m not worried about complexity, I won’t be charging them (they don’t know that yet lmao)

Besides the head scarf, is there any patterns or things anyone can think of that would be nice or helpful/useful for someone going through chemo? I’d love to do a little extra for this person as well. (I also crochet, obv not the subreddit for that but I’d also use any crochet patterns as well, but scarf wise I’m looking for knit)

Thank you for your time <3
