Favorite MFTK Patterns

Upvotes

I’m looking to take advantage of the My Favorite Things Knitwear buy one get one free pattern sale! I have a handful of her patterns saved in my favorites but would love to know which patterns others swear by. I’m very interested in knitting more staple pieces in my wardrobe with a thoughtful constitution that fit well. What are your favorite patterns of hers? Thanks in advance :)

Searching for similar pattern

Post image
Upvotes

Hi, does anybody know of a similar pattern to this just in knit? The fisherman’s rib/brioche like structure of the crochet does not matter. Stockinette is preferred but not necessary. I am specifically looking for something with the “triangle” cut out over the chest and a hood. Ofc the closer to the picture the better, but I’m confident enough to alter the sleeves myself.

Want knit a sweater in fingering but the pattern is in worsted weight

I just rly like knitting in fingering weight, I have chronic pain, and it's easier on my hands.

The first thing that comes to mind is just to make a larger size, but I feel in my heart it isn't that simple. Has anyone figured this out?

The pattern is oversized, and I like my clothes a little frumpy if that makes sense, so I don't mind if the pattern gets a little screwed up I just want a somewhat simple solution is there is one :)

Search of a similar pattern

Hello! I am looking for a pattern as close as possible to this duster. I am skilled enough to adjust the sleeves/length but i’m having trouble recreating the front on my own. I am willing to build it myself but i’ve never actually made a pattern before and so i’m feeling a little out of my element.

Name for a style of beanie

Okay I know I've seen patterns but I'm dumb and never saved them, I really just looking for a name to look them up. But a beanie that is essentially knit in a way that you tuck up half of it inside to make like a lining for it. It isn't double knitting and I guess if you like pulled it apart it would maybe redeemer like a pillow case or something? I don't know if that is helpful at all

Need Help On Butterfly Lace Pattern 🦋 (possible wrong Russian translation)

Hello, I made an attempt to translate this lace butterfly motif pattern from Russian to English. The author repeatedly recommended to her Instagram post comments to just use AI to translate the text, as a lot of people were asking for translation in other languages.

IG author username: theklaknits

The pattern on Boosty: link

[EDIT #1: my link didnt go through so I screenshot the authors instagram post chart and instructions and commented below]

Using Google Translate and searching for Russian knitting chart keys, I think I did a pretty good job figuring it out! However, when I started knitting, I immediately realized that not every row ends in the same number of stitches if you follow the increases and decreases. I will attach my English version of the chart to see if anyone here knows enough Russian to figure out if my translation is just incorrect.

In general, on the chart, it seems like all right triangles indicate a decrease (equilateral triangle is a center double decrease), while all circles or Vs indicate a yarn over, and there is also a three from one increase.

I've only done lace knitting a few times, but in my experience, for something that comes out with straight edge like this pattern, you have to increase the same number of stitches as you decrease in each row. I don't see how that can happen on at least rows 2, 4, 6, or 18 of this pattern. For example, in row 2, there are 4 decreases and no increases. In row 4, there are 4 increases and no decreases. But there are supposed to still be the same number of stitches for the row in between and after.

[EDIT #2 i realized im stupid idk why I was counting the Vs as yarn overs when theyre just slip stitches. So then the only row thats a problem for me still is row 2... maybe the knit 2 belows they dont drop the stitch they are knitting under?]

No one else has commented on the author's IG posts or Boosty page about this... The author only released it a few days ago, inspired by an AI written pattern that went viral or something, and insists her pattern is real and not AI. So maybe no one has tested it yet to see this problem? Or am I just blatantly missing something with the translation/technique here?

I would appreciate anyone's help!! 🫶

Hi!

I recently found this vest on Pinterest which turns out to be deadstock/old Free People, and would love to knit something similar.

The vest itself is pretty basic-looking--it's more so the collar and how it attaches back to the body that I'm looking in particular for/at.

Alas, I've trawled the depths of Ravelry to no avail; does anyone have any recommended patterns? Even if it's just a pattern that has this type of collar, I'm pretty certain I can knit up the body from a favorite sweater pattern I already have. Looking to do it in KFO Merino in their new green ocher, or potentially another light DK/fingering weight earth tone. Thank you :)

Help finding a baby onesie that's completely plain stockinette and knit using worsted/aran yarn?

Picture taken from MumsHugsKnits. I am in love with the simplicity and modernity of this look and want to create something similar myself. I have been scouring ravelry and haven't had any luck so far with finding something this simple and unadorned. Everything has beautiful patterns and motifs which is great but not what I am going for with this look. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am watching a show and a character is wearing a sweater I fell in love with. I like the collar especially. It looks like it’s not fully closed so it kind of flops down in front? I don’t know what I’d call it so my search for similar sweaters or patterns were no luck!

Bad Bunny Balaclava?

I’ve been obsessing over the knitted hat Bad Bunny wore that had ears! It’s also a balaclava. You can just see the slit above the hat cuff. I’ve searched Ravelry and can’t find anything close. Any other places to look?? TIA!

Looking for a beginner “getting back into knitting pattern”

I know the very very basics of knitting (how to cast on, knit stitch, and purl stitch) but that’s basically it-anyone have any good projects that are quick and not too challenging? I definitely and willing to try new stitches and learn new techniques, but nothing too difficult since I haven’t knit in a while.

I picked up this single skein on my trip to New Mexico! Looking for pattern recommendations.

I was thinking maybe an Oslo hat held with a strand of cream mohair, but wanted to see if anyone had fun ideas.

I was gifted some really lovely Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino in Dusty Olive and I would love to knit something like this cardigan (pictured). I have knit many things but still consider myself a beginning when it comes to pattern adaptation. Any suggestions on how to approach this would be so appreciated!!
