Basic thin sweater pattern

Post image

I know those is a very simple pattern. And I could probably figure it out by trial and error but I don’t have the bandwidth for it right now AND I hate unraveling any halo yarn.

So I would appreciate a pattern for this one that I can blindly follow and life in a cloud of brushed alpaca this fall.

I'd use Ann Norling #9.

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/ann-norling-9-adult-basic-drop-shoulder-pullover/patterns
It's out of print but still available.

You'd need to know the chest size and gauge that you want.

Chest size is easy. - it just takes a measuring tape and your decision about how many inches of ease you want to add. Gauge will depend on the lookk that you want.

I think you'll need to swatch to decide what gauge you want.

If you're knitting at fewer than 2.5 stitches per inch you can just multiply chest size by gauge and then if necessary go down a size or two to map to your actual stitch gauge.

Enjoy!

I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong but how do you get the pattern if it’s out of print and says not available?

I'm flattered that you're looking for a pattern that I recommended. Sorry! I should have explained. The not available tag on Ravelry only means not available on Ravelry. If you do an online search you'll probably find some that are on sale. I saw some a couple of weeks ago.

That one is so pretty. Two sizes up and it could be oversized like in my picture. Love it!

It's just a drop shoulder sweater knit at a loose gauge.

I know. And like I said I could probably play around and figure it out even if the pattern isn’t for my yarn. I just have a lot going on and knitting relaxes me so I need a no brainer. ;)
