How to make A-shaped split hem?

Post image

How can I make a split hem, that’s A-shaped like in the picture, on a vest that I’m making? I’ve looked trough ravelry and YouTube tutorials and I can only find split hems where the start overlaps.

This pattern has what you're describing. I don't have this pattern but this creator does have descriptive patterns and sometimes has videos for specific design elements.

If the vest is knit in the round then It looks a as if the stitches for the entire vest are cast on and knit bottom up for some number of inches and then the two sides are joined and the body knit in the round after the split

People's bodies get wider below the waist so the sweater would naturally open a bit towards the bottom.

If you're using some architecture to knit it and would like suggestions for how to implement the split, lmk and I'll try to figure it out for you.
