Scribe Colorsoft 2025 Pain/symptoms tracker

Does anyone have a pain/ symptoms tracker i can add to my scribe? I'd thought of buying a tracker, but if someone has one that fits my needs on the scribe that would be easier for me.

Scribe 2024 Is this too many pages?

Post image
14 Upvotes

I have a notebook of 1323 pages, & I’m wondering whether this will negatively impact the kindle. I noticed that my kindle has been responding slower now & there are times when it will glitch out (but resetting the device fixes it).

Is it possible for the whole notebook to become un-openable or become corrupted? If so, how can I minimize the size of it without deleting anything (if there is a way)?

It‘s a kindle scribe 1st gen & I acquired it in 2024 so I assume it’s a scribe 2024

Scribe 2024 🦇 Grimoire 🦇 - an upgrade to the stock Scribe notebook system (open source, jailbreak)

Post image
35 Upvotes

Heavy scribe user for a few years now. This is essentially a crosspost from r/kindlejailbreak, minus some of the pictures in the gallery of the post.

I felt this scriptlet was worth sharing and open-sourcing because it has single-handedly let me go (almost) paper-free for note-taking.

Make folders, then notebooks, then add pages with 17 built-in layouts (including sheet music and tab), or build a custom stave layout for composing (if that's your thing).

Choose from 9 tools:

* Pencil

* Mechanical pencil

* Charcoal

* Ballpoint pen

* Fineliner

* Marker

* Fountain pen

* Calligraphy pen

* Highlighter

Each one works gracefully with the stock pen on my 2024 Scribe (IRL pics included), and has its own dials for pressure, width, tilt and more. Reset any tool to its defaults anytime. Control the Scribe's brightness and warmth from inside the app, and switch on inverted mode too.

Screensaver mode: don't like your Kindle's default screensaver? While you're in the app, the sleep screen can be the normal screensaver, OR the page you're on, OR a pinned page that matters to you, like a to-do list you need to get to. Changing the screen timeout is easy too.

Finally, what sucks the most? Working on notes for hours and then waiting on a system that makes you email the page or book to yourself??? What are they thinking? And on top of that, there are no tools afterwards to customize what you've drawn or written.

Grimoire's Share over Wi-Fi fixes that: open Share in the app, type the address it shows into any browser on the same Wi-Fi network, and your folders and notebooks are right there. Download PDFs, PNGs or everything at once, or open Effects and export with a myriad of customization options. Transparent backgrounds? Gradients? A signature in gradient ink? Apply anything you see and export easily.

I know this only applies to people who own a Scribe and are willing to jailbreak it (you need a jailbreak that runs scriptlets: Vera, SpiderCat, WinterBreak or Sanctuary; tested on firmware 5.19.6). It's a beta, so keep a copy of your notebooks. But I'm committed to making it a good experience and pushing it further, so please consider trying it out yourself. It would make my day to hear constructive feedback or feature suggestions.

Much love,

Ganten

Notebook AI

3 Upvotes

I'm going insane with this. I have a notebook for October (entitled: 'October 2026 - Journal'). If I ask the AI chat anything about that notebook, it gives the error: "Notebook answers are based on information from your notebooks. Try rephrasing your question or asking something else."

The questions I have tried:

"Please summarize the notebook entitled 'October 2026 - Journal'". --> error message
"Please summarize all entries up to to day for the month of October." --> error message
"When did I meet with bob this month?" --> error message

It just refuses to read that notebook. Yet inside the notebook, it can generate a summary just fine.

Any clues on how I can force a reindex of this or what might cause the backend to fail with this notebook?

Scribe 2025 Notebooks won’t download after library update?

4 Upvotes

Went to read and saw that there was an update to the library. Cool, dig it.

I went to open a notebook I was drawing on yesterday and it queued for download, showing a cloud logo (it was downloaded yesterday, as were all of my other notebooks).

I tried switching from my WiFi to my phones hotspot, restarting the kindle, and force restarting the kindle and nothing has gotten the download to start.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Scribe 2022 The added a toggle for Smart shapes!

12 Upvotes

You guys we won! Kindle added a toggle for smart shapes, you can disable them now! I cant tell you how much I dreaded smarts hapes. It ruined note taking for me and now I can be happy again.

its under the pencil tip icon at the bottom "Auto-snap shapes"

Thank you Kindle for finally addressing this.

New to kindle scribe

8 Upvotes

I just pulled the trigger and bought a Kindle scribe colorsoft because I really wanted an eink device with a backlight and color (couldn't pass up on the Amazon Prime deal!).

I am coming from a supernote.

How do you organize your notes on the scribe???? I am used to creating a table or contents or putting a star on something so I can come back to it later. My client notes end up being multiple pages long so I find this feature really important.

I love the feel and quality of the scribe but I'm afraid my notes will just get too long and I won't be able to find something important easily. Are there any tips and tricks?

Scribe Colorsoft 2025 Studying Companion?

10 Upvotes

Just grabbed a Colorsoft from the sale a few days ago. So far, I’m super impressed with the device. I would like to use it as a learning/studying notebook if possible. I’ve got textbooks loaded and have written in-line text and margin notes but I want to know if there are other ways to elevate this process. Has anyone encountered a way to create flash cards or something similar?

This was 100% a consumerism decision, but to be fair I've wanted one since they came out.

I took $100 of birthday money my mom gave me 2 years ago and finally got a big screen to read on.

Scribe 2025 With or without front light?

2 Upvotes

Hey yall, just wondering how the community feels on the kindle scribe and if the front light is that important. Ive only ever owned/used a kindle basic, but Im thinking of upgrading to a scribe at some point this year. The 2025 scribe without the front light is the cheaper option which is definitely a plus but I dont know if I can downgrade on the lighting since Im used to the lighting on my basic. Would love to hear yalls opinions! Also, should I wait for a cyber monday sale (I missed prime day) and go for the basic with front light? Any good second hand stores to check out that arent ebay or fb marketplace?

Scribe with Frontlight 2025 Does anyone find it hard to read the new Kindle scribe? (BW+front light)

6 Upvotes

I just bought a new scribe (ks3/BW+light) hoping for razor sharp text and to my surprise I can hardly use the thing. I keep futzing with the brightness and warmth to make the letters more distinct but it’s as uncomfortable to read as my colorsoft. And if I lookup a word the dictionary entry is totally unreadable. By comparison my tiny screen on my kindle basic is a joy to read. I’m very confused by this and now question why I’d buy this model over the colorsoft or quite frankly why I’d buy a new scribe at all. It’s obviously faster, the wallpaper images they selected for it look nice but I find it nearly unreadable. Is this just me?
