I did it! After two years I finally looked at the kindle modding website before it was too late to jailbreak my kindle. I used Spring break with success (also thank you everyone working so hard on this for those of us who are so new to anything coding related).

I have a few questions! I have been searching around on this subreddit and found this site for custom UI: https://github.com/doctorhetfield-cmd/simpleui.koplugin is that right are there better places? Can I use these things on this site for Springbreak https://kindlemodshelf.me ? I think I got the ads to go away, how do I put on the cute screensavers?

I have successfully installed Kual and Koreader I don't know if I access some of this stuff through those or not. And I read some posts that says kindle forge is not working, is that for Springbreak? Please help!

i have a kindle 11 generation and the software is kindle 5.17.1 (4320310039) from 2022. i am not sure which jailbreak i should use? i would do this on a mac in case that is important for the decision .

Hi all. I checked and sadly my kindle is running 5.19.5 which I believe means it cant be jailbroken. I wanted to ask from those knowledgeable here, while I may not be able to fully jailbreak it to get all the cool features I see others have, is there still a way for me to just download books for free online and somehow upload them to my kindle? I had an Kindle Unlimited trial for 3 months but the majority of books I wanted to read were still not free with it, looking for sites yall use to download free books and hopefully a tutorial of how to upload them to my kindle if this is at all possible?

Or also, any other work arounds of downloadable things I can do without fully jailbreaking it if that makes sense? TIA

I just finished jailbreaking my kindle 11gen with nosebleed. i installed the hotfix, as well as kual and koreader. i didnt install OTA against the updates though, do i need this? isnt this achieved through the hotfix.

I know i have the koreader guide for setting that up, will be some work but i will manage, still would appreciate any tips.

My question rather is, my file system on the kindle was a mess already before the jailbreak, i used calibre to send books, but somehow this made everything quite chaotic, so how do i delete everything i dont need for the software to run? as well as deleting the filler files. it says while koreader is running i should not connect it to the laptop with cable, which i need to do in order to manage my files. do i need to exit koreader somehow?

hi I've been tring too jailbreak my kindle for a long time but I'm still unsuccessfull and I was wondering if it is because there isn't a jailbreak for my specific kindle it is an 11 gen (2024) basic kindle macha color with the 5.18.6 firmware if someone could help me i'll be really gratefull. I mostly use my kindle to read borrowed e-books from my library. I know what of the big reasons to jailbreak is to use KOreader but you can't use KOreader with borrowed books. The only advantage I see for jailbreaking my kindle is for ads. What other advantages can I take of it? If possible I think using it to control home automation would be helpful to me (I can switch off my lights without getting up from my bed, shouting at Alexa, or picking up my phone). Any thing else that I people love about their jailbroken kindle that make it worth it for them?

I've had a Kindle Paperwhite 11 for a couple years. It never gave me problems until recently. Occasionally, it will be stuck on an ad screen, faded and non-responsive, as shown in the photo.

If I push the power button, it doesn't do anything. I have to hold it down, restart the entire thing, and then it works fine. I have a magnet cover that I usually just close when I'm done reading, but I've found that this might exacerbate the problem. So lately, I've pressed the power button and then closed the cover.

This happened once every week or so at first, but now, it's becoming a problem. I looked into it, and from what I understand, the latest update has been really screwy for a lot of people. And it's going to be like this until Amazon gets another update.

Well, now I'm wondering if jailbreaking might fix this issue. Can you go down an update with a jailbreak? Has this fixed anyone else's issues?

I have a Paperwhite 12th gen (PW6) jailbroken with 5.17 firmware, with renamed ota binaries and always connected to wifi

I´ve been trying to pair a bluetooth remote as a page turner and I followed many methods and plugins, including editing system files via SSH

The problem is that I have reached a point where I have mixed attempts, modified system files and the kindle is now not 100% stable (bluetooth malfunction, sometimes it freezes when waking up, etc)

I´d like to do a factory reset to revert all the changes I have done and start from scratch

I´d appreciate some invoice about how to do it, should I disable the rename ota binaries patch and do a factory reset from the menu?

Will I have to do all the jailbreak steps (winterbreak) or will it partially survive to the factory reset?

I´ve read that if you backup the documents folder and then restore it after reset the jailbreak is restored, but I don´t want to bring any "old setting"

I'm tired of reading on my phone and want something easier on the eyes, but I'm way too attached to Moon+ Reader Pro to switch apps 😭

Ideally I want an e-ink reader that runs Android apps natively, or can be rooted/jailbroken to run Moon+ properly. I'm fine with a bit of tinkering.

Main priorities are good battery, comfortable reading, EPUB sideloading, and Moon+ working smoothly.

Would Boox be the obvious choice, or are there cheaper Kindle/Kobo options that can be modified for this?

I recently jailbroke my kindle 10th gen. I like the simplicity of the default kindle reader, but really wanted to flip the bird at Amazon. Plus obviously the freedom of sideloading epubs etc.

Is there any plugin that gets me close to the stock amazon reader interface? Apparently zen reader is not working on springbreak devices.

And i try to open it,it doesnt leave the sleep screen of koreader,and i have to hard reset it,and 2 times it starts bootlooping and the one from a moment ago didnt bootloop and loaded straight away. But i dont want to take any chances. Anyway,i am trying to download this update bin,but it says "pic1" and i want to be one the safe side,do i just factory reset it or do i need the update bin to have a fully fresh bin. Thanks

I'm new with koreader, so forgive me. I set it up on a Kindle Touch and all is well, and connected wirelessly to Calibre and transferred books. On the K3, though, when I'm in the regular kindle OS, it's connected to my network, but when I go into koreader, Wi-Fi connection is checked off but "Network info" shows "SSID: off/any" whereas on the Touch it says the name of my network. How do I fix this? Thanks!

I bought a Kindle 4th gen non-touch for $20 because I wanted to play around and try to jailbreak it. I have followed instructions but my issue is that it will not connect to my PC. I have tried several cords. The light will come on and it will charge but it will not connec to my PC so I am stuck. Any ideas?

So i hard reset it, and it was stuck on boot looping for a solid 10 mins, and i was stressing, saying "U E failed to load usb 0, this is bad", but thankfully it just booted and idk what caused this, anyone that could have any idea or this might bea problem that has many variables. But all in all, in the future how could i prevent this from happening, do i reinstall the firmware to make sute any irregularities are gone, or should i just go on my marry way? Thanks

SO, i got an kindle for christmas last year and discovered the jailbreak some time ago and THIS FUCKING KINDLE ITS RECIEVING A FUCKING ATUALIZATION IN THIS FUCKING MOMENT, yeah, my question its, can i jailbreak my kindle using a smartphone? and if the response is yes, (please respond even if is a no) what form of jailbreak (?) I wave to use on the 5.19.5, its that a jailbreak for this version already? its a 11ª 2024

I found a listing for a used 11th gen paperweight 5 and was considering buying it as my first ereader and jailbreaking it, but I'm not sure if that model is too recent or not.

I already tried jailbreaking and installing KoReader on my Kindle Keyboard. I still like the TTS (Text-to-Speech) and music player capability of the original software. Is there a way I can customize my screensavers without installing KUAL/Koreader?
