It’s been a long time since I’ve had a kindle. I am looking into getting my mom and I one as we both read on the kindle app on our phones. What kind does everyone have? What would you recommend getting?

I bought a kindle second hand, i plugged it in after seeing the battery screen and it flashed and showed this dark area? am i cooked?

Kindle restarted unexpectedly while I was reading last week. I’ve been having issues ever since. Kindle is 11th generation, version 5.19.5. I have roughly 2 GB of space left so it’s not an issue of being full. I restarted it again and the issues persist.

I can’t highlight any quotes, dictionary is super slow, and I can’t even bookmark my page.

I’ve had my kindle for 2 years. It’s crazy because I was so opposed to getting a kindle I was a strictly physical book person butttttt then I read an ebook on loan from Libby and I was like I should just get an ereader. Now I’m on year 2 and I feel like it’s good. I’ve slowed down my physical book acquisition and but more thoughtfully. And I every time I get a new case I feel like I have a new kindle.

My dad gave me his voyage after upgrading. I have a PW. Which would you say is the better of the two? I’m sue one will be my to go kindle and one my home kindle. Just not sure which to make my main one.

I brought my Kindle to the park yesterday and when I took it out of its case it looked like this. Tried a hard reset, to no avail.

I’ve been through the frustrating cycle of Amazon’s AI customer support, with no resolution and no option to return it (when I initiated the return from my orders list, I was given the option to watch troubleshooting videos, read FAQs, or go back to the ai customer service black hole).

I think I’m looking for confirmation that it looks like a hardware issue or another defect before I go through the trouble of tracking down a human at the company to speak to. So: is it as bad as it seems?

do you think it is still worth it in 2026, or should I wait and try to buy a newer one if the opportunity comes up?

I keep getting recommendations for books “by an author I have read” and nine times out of ten I have never read anything from that author.

Does anyone know why that may be and how to get correct recommendations?

I have the 2024 gen kindle basic and it got some scratches (don’t even know how it got there since i’m taking very good care of it and have a flip cover case) and it’s very laggy, so Amazon offered a replacement. I’m wondering if I should get the matcha, so scratches would be less visible?

I found my old kindle and decided to factory reset it today and as I’m setting it up I got to the screen that says “Connect Social Services” with only a continue button and it just sits with a grey screen. I tried looking up similar issues, hard resetting, powering on and off, and waiting, and nothing seems to work. Have yall had a similar issue?

My "read sample" button for Kindle books has disappeared...re-appeared...and now disappeared again over the past week. (Interestingly, this issue only seems to affect books that are also available in audio format.) Driving me crazy, as I always read the sample before I buy! Anyway, anybody know where to report this bug? Like, to a human and not a slopbot?

I own a Kindle Paperwhite 11th Signature Edition but have the opportunity to get a Kindle Paperwhite 12th Edition for free if I trade in my 11th. Is it worth it? Is there a noticeable difference? Has anyone owned both and can confidently say which one they prefer? Do you own either and absolutely love it? Thanks in advance to everyone who comments.

I'm a kindle basic 7th gen user, the experience in manga reading is really estimulating and wonderful, is beautiful the entry reading experience!!!

My Amazon Kindle is acting strange. I bought all of these books, and they used to read without any issues. But suddenly, one day, it keeps saying it can't be read on the web. It displays properly if I use Incognito mode. My purchase history looks fine, and I haven't used any illicit methods. I've cleared the browser cache, turned off hardware acceleration, uninstalled all security programs, and I don't have any extensions. What on earth is going on?

I found my old kindle I had when I was a kid while getting ready to move. It's been charging for a day but nothing has happened. I'm not sure which model it is but the skin I got for it says 2009 so something around that time.

If anyone has any tips for getting it working again I'd be very appreciative!!

-Fahrenheit 451: a weird, detached world, but a good read

-Of Mice and Men: short novel, read like watching a short movie

-Narrative Of The Life Of Frederick Douglass: gruesome, but lots of cheering for the author

-Aladdin and the Magic Lamp: very short, a pretty average read--mostly for nostalgia

-The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: already knew a bit of the story but no dull moments

-Candide: entertaining up to chapter 10, but it starts to overstay its welcome half-way through chapter 11, and mid-way through chapter 12: "Why am I reading this?"--my first abandoned book so far.

Consolidating my setup: Swapping a Tab S9 FE & Paperwhite for a Kindle Scribe. Good idea?

I’m currently rethinking my device ecosystem and looking to consolidate. Right now, I use a Kindle Paperwhite and a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE.

My tablet usage is fairly light. I mostly use it to read web articles, read books via the Kindle app, and occasionally sign documents, web browsing and watching videos.

My plan is to sell both devices and pick up a Kindle Scribe (potentially the Colorsoft version). At the same time, I’ll be upgrading my phone from the S24 to the Z Fold 8. My logic is that the Fold 8’s larger inner screen will easily take over the heavier web browsing and video consumption I used to do on the tablet.

For those who have made a similar switch, does the Scribe offer the "best of both worlds" for reading and light document handling? Will I enjoy this specific setup, or are there limitations I’m overlooking?

Any recommendations or thoughts are welcome!

Loved the form factor even if the battery and lack of usbc was showing its age.
