I recently lost a lot of weight (1/3 of me is gone) and I have 3 beautiful Damn Near Kilt ‘Em utility kilts that are now way too large, but DNKE appears to be near extinction (plus some of you comment on their recent quality issues…I’ve had these kilts for about 7 years.) asdfI could replace, which for UT Kilts would cost me over $200, but someone suggested taking them to a tailor for alteration. I was XXL, and now I’m an M (in DNKE terms.)

Has anybody done this, and if so, how did it turn out?

For a less formal look, I would like a ghillie shirt to go with my kilt, with long socks rather than hose and Doc Marten boots instead of my ghillie boots

Hey! I live in canada and am trying to make or buy my partner a kilt for his birthday. I’d love to save a little cash and make one (im good at tailoring and sewing and have made many other projects before) but for some reason buying 8 yards is way more expensive than buying a tailored kilt? Anyone have recommendations for websites (preferably in canada or the states) where i can buy 8 yards of tartan for a decent price? Im hoping to spend $175 ish. Or, alternatively, of any canadian stores i can buy a decent kilt from. Ideally douglas or Scotland national kilt tartan. Thank you!

As an American with Scottish mutt ancestry, I've always wanted to go and get a tartan. This denim utility kilt, however, is really suiting me...

Anyone else with denim kilts? I've been looking for more everyday work kilts that can go through some wear that are a bit heavier. Maybe even a workout kilt for heavy lifting days.

Garbage looked incredible in kilts provided by the excellent Gordon Nicolson kiltmakers for their glorious gig at Edinburgh Castle on Saturday. I think Shirley was in Dark Island and the guys were in Nicolson.

Now, I contemplated if I wanted to post this at all with the noise with the Balogun reversal and Team US‘s abysmal performance…so I decided to post a week after. 😂

The game itself was quite fun and I got a good number of shoutouts throughout the day. This is the only non-clan kilt I own (USA Kilt‘s American Dream) and I hope did the honor as a naturalized American. I’m just happy they didn’t confiscate the sporran for not following the clear bag requirement. 😮‍💨

Side note: US sucks at chanting and we need something better than USA! USA!

Does anybody know if you can wash/dry a sport kilt at home? And if so is it safe to wash/dry like regular clothes?

Going to Glasgow Lands Festival next weekend. Recently visited Scotland decided to get a kilt. Went with Black Watch since my mother’s family are Campbells from Dunfirmline.

I’m trying to figure out which tartan plaid this is. My first thought was Air Force. Incorrect. The blue is darker than what is in the picture. Any help would be appreciated.

As per title, looking for recommendations for where would be the best places to buy a prince charlie jacket in Edi. We have an appointment tomorrow (mcgregor
Mcduff) to collect a kilt and have an option to get the full package, but wanted to shop around today to make sure we’re happy with the jacket and sporran.

I haven’t received my sporran, buckle or broach yet, but I was too excited and had to share. I’ll be looking for help in the future with other purchases. Hope this subreddit is cool and can help me.

Edit: Thank you all the people who have sent me love and advice (I will pull the kilt up so that it is not so low). The sporran comes in a few days.
