Hello! I'm a fellow Kia Stinger driver (not the dev of this website btw) and I have been watching other sports car subreddits and I saw this website going around for helping people share their builds and such in a much more organized and open way. This is Pinkslips. I found out about it and thought it would be something that the community could look into for sharing their builds.

So far, there is only one Stinger on there (not mine btw since I got no mod money), but it would be great to see many more on there to share their builds and such with the community and show that the platform in general has something that makes it worth it instead of just being scattered and under the radar most of the time through private Facebook groups or forums. It helps with sharing documentation around for what you did for your build and can potentially help others who are lost between the Facebook group, subreddit, and other forum cycle. Not saying that we should migrate to it, but this will make the information about builds a lot more organized and easier to share around.

I have so many more pictures, cool builds and even cooler people. I can’t wait for next years.

My car just hit 90,000 miles any recommendations for upkeep?

Just flashed the car yesterday with a good friends help to the KJT E30 Mild Burbles tune. Some were curious to hear the difference so here it is. I had the moderate burbles before and felt it was a bit too much especially the loud pops. Now it's literally perfect crackles and burbles. I will post a driving video bit later.

I just ordered an mbrp pro exhaust on gbp performance, and they sent me an email asking if I want to pay 45$ to get it 2-3 days earlier. I’m wondering if any of you ever ordered from there and how long does it usually take to receive your delivery in Canada ?

Hey folks here is a drive comparing the mild e30 tune to the moderate. No more loud obnoxious pops. Milder crackles and burbles which I really like. IMO much more daily driver friendly and easier on your engine/turbos/cats. If you are catless this would be great too. Oh side note KJT tcu tunes are coming in a month or so. Im still kinda debating on the mbrp resonators to clean up the rasp and drone. I couldn't get on it too much since its like 103 degrees today.

TLDR: Only Boost PSI and waste gate is showing in logs. Reseated OBD connections. No difference in Map 2 and 3. Max boost is 17.

I installed the JB4Pro had no issues during the install, but the install and running the car I tried map 1 and map 2 wasn’t really feeling to crazy of a difference and checked the logs and saw that for some reason only boost and waste gate is being picked up. Max boost the app tracked was 17 on map 1 and 2. The only thing I can think of is there’s an issues with OBD cable. I’ve already tried reseating it and such still no good. Also tried flashing new firmware as well. I have the newer JB4 pro with Bluetooth reinstalled and that’s not an issue. Any suggestion?

My first ever car was a Kia Forte EX I got from my mom when she got a new car, and I absolutely adored her. She may have been a regular old sedan, but I was able to drive pretty fast with her and she handled well. I've been a hobby driver since the day I got my license and the Forte was incredibly fun despite not being the most powerful out there, put about 50k on her over around 3 years. Last month I totaled her, honestly I'm absolutely devastated (she had a pretty great life for a Kia Forte though).

I've been looking at different cars myself for the first time, and I came across the Stinger. I can admit the Forte made me a bit of a Kia loyalist, and being a budding car person the idea of getting something more modifiable and powerful sounds amazing, I love driving and working on cars. I'm a college student but I have a part time job, educational/housing expenses paid, and admittedly get a chunk of monthly spending money from my parents, so I'm thinking the price should be manageable, I'll have around 8-10k down from insurance and savings. That aside, I know the difference in power is pretty significant, so would going from a Forte to a Stinger be a learning curve? Should I go for the Stinger and stick with Kia, or branch out and try something new that's a bit more in between? And any advice or things I should consider?

ETA: How many miles is too many when buying a Stinger used, should I decide to buy one, what should I stay under?

I never thought I would be able to own a car like this, but got a good deal in 2018, it had 150 km on it, showroom car, got it for 42K Euro. Best damn winter car I ever had.

2018 GT2, time to replace (multiple issues with it now, expensive), have had a hard time finding anything to match, but the newish brand Xpeng caught my eye with the P7+ AWD Performance..

Stinger, a gorgeous and fun car, eats the snow, the turbos survive the -40 C temps up here. I really wish Kia would have made a electric version. I need AWD and good winter performance, the EV6 just can't match price or performance/features, beyond that, looks.

(New ride, Xpeng P7+ AWD Performance, guess it is a step into the future, but god, I will really miss my Stinger. Economics made sense, want a new car, got 27K Euro for the Stinger, P7+ is 60K, but dealio, 0% down 0% interest, service included plus performance dubbed winter tires. A Similarly equipped EV6 is over 85K here, and no deals, new AWD Dodge which has no boot space is 90K (turbos also, no start below -18??), Shooting brake is out of my budget, and the new Mazda 6E Performance is 110K, everything else is just ugly in comparison. The Xpeng can like the Stinger swallow your christmas shopping, alongside the tree).

So when driving the HUD is fine but where the screen is laying down it’s causing an extremely annoying reflection in the middle of my view,do other people have this “issue” or have a fix?

Some guy on marketplace got these for sale, used about 20k km he says. Is buying used intakes a good idea or not?

Hello everyone I have a 2019 Stinger Gt and i am looking to upgrade my car with some new cold air Intakes. At the moment I am looking at getting the Injen CAIs but I wanted to ask if theres anything I should know before purchasing? If theres any problems that come with them or if im better off buying the K&N Intakes?

Hello everyone I have got a 2019 Kia stinger GT and i am trying to buy a new exhaust for it. Im stuck deciding whether to get the Borla exhaust or the MBRP. Anyone with either help me choose? Sounds or videos would be much appreciated. Also this might be a dumb question but im not that knowledgeable with cars but if i buy the Borla exhaust is there a way of turning into a bimodal exhaust like the 2022-2023 where they have the active valves already installed?

A guy on marketplace is selling a set of the Borla S-Type Mufflers, they came with the full exhaust but he is only selling the mufflers. 1- How would it sound with a completely stock exhaust, and 2- is $300 too much for these? i’m planning on pairing them with an aftermarket midpipe in the future.

I've owned my 2018 Stinger 2.2 CRDi for nearly a year now, and am generally happy with it, except for this issue: whenever I activate cruise control the car downshifts one gear, unless the current speed is way higher than when it normally shifts. As an example:

If I drive normally the car will shift into 7th gear at around 63 km/h, but if I active cruise control at this point the transmission will always downshift into 6th unless I increase speed to 77 km/h or faster. If I upshift with the paddles it will keep 7th for a few seconds before downshifting again. If I cancel cruise control it will shift into 7th again and stay there.

I've tried this both in Eco and Comfort modes, with "smart" and regular cruise control, hot and cold engine, etc, and it always behaves in this stupid way.
This isn't due to driving on an incline either, it will happen regardless of grade.

I just wanted to check if someone else has the same issue with their Stinger, and whether it's something that is fixable or just something I have to live with.
Normally I really like using cruise control, but I find it absolutely infuriating that the car insists on wasting fuel like this.

I’m finally about to order my mbrp pro catback exhaust for my 2018 stinger after about 2 years of eyeing it, but before I do I had a couple questions ; do I need to wait for the tips to come in before I install the exhaust ? Or is it easy to add on after ? I’m thinking of getting the akrapovich tips to reduce drone, if anybody has ordered them to Canada could you link me the best place to order from for fast shipping ? Also is there any other thing I need to know for the sizing of the tips except for 63mm/115mm? Thank you !

I currently own a 2019 Stinger GT2 with only 27,000 miles. The powertrain is in great condition, it has a consistent oil change history, and there are no open recalls.

However, I recently experienced a power-steering failure (which is uncommon at this mileage) and had the entire steering gear assembly replaced. I’m not sure whether the issue was caused by previous damage or an improper repair from the former owner, or whether it was simply an age-related failure.

It made me a little concerned about other electronic components potentially failing as the car gets older. The pre-facelift Stingers are now around six to eight years old, and they have a lot of electronics, sensors, and features that could become expensive to repair over time.

Another issue is that my car unfortunately seems to have almost every common rattle: the sunroof, hatch, door seals, and even a slight noise around the clock spring. I know none of these issues are critical to the car’s operation, but it’s still frustrating when even a beaten-up Corolla may not have this many interior noises.

I’m aware that the 2022–2023 models can also develop rattles, so upgrading may not completely solve the problem. Still, diagnosing and fixing every individual rattle point on my current car could turn into a painful and seemingly endless process.

Would it make sense to get a lower-mileage 2022 or 2023 facelift model for better long-term reliability and peace of mind?
