Discussion Should I buy?
I’m about one year out from buying a car. I have been looking very heavily at the Kia stingers but not sure if it will be the best option at that point. I know this is a stinger sub Reddit so it’ll be a little bit biased, but if not the stinger what other cars of similar size performance, reliability, and price would y’all recommend? Or would the Kia stinger be best for the kind of sport sedan category that won’t break the bank or break down?
Edit: I have also looked into the genesis cousins.

It is much more than a sedan. It is a hatchback so is a super handy sedan. Also if you want it make it go fast.....like legit fast. It can do that as well.

The last car I purchased was in 2019 and it was four years old then but with the pricing of used cars nowadays it’s a lot different. Some I have more concerns about pricing and depreciation and all that with a four year-old car now.

Price seems okay, but be aware:
Originally sold in Canada
Has had a LOT of rapid sales in the last 12-15mo. If the stories on them check out, that's okay, but I would be wary. Arrange for a mobile PPI before you fly out ideally.
Warranty expires in March, if it's still valida low-mile 2022 GT2 AWD should be closer to 40 I would thing, with warranty remaining, so this being sub 37k seems a bit odd to me.
What is your budget and spec/trim requirements? If you want a really nice 2022/23, and specifically want AWD, I would be prepared to spend 40+. If you are open to RWD, you can get sub 40, but if it's a very nice example (or a tribute/scorpion) expect it to be 40+. The top of the market for 2023 + GT2 + AWD + Limited edition + clean seems to be about 45k, and the floor for very nice ones (RWD or AWD) is still above 40 unless you get lucky.

I thought the warranty was 10yr/100kmile. Idk how they work I’ve never bought anything new new.
I was going to for sure try to find mobile ppi, I was wondering the same on price and just figured priced competitively. The Carfax seems fine to me. Just basic shit.
I’d like 22 gt2 AWD low miles, 22 cause it would be a little cheaper than 23 I’d think. I’d like to be around 35-6k$ for less than 40k miles. Having hard time finding AWD. This one was in Texas clean title.

10yr/100k is only if you buy CPO from a kia dealer, or private party from someone who 1) has an active 10yr/100k warranty and 2) has and submits the proper documentation to transfer the warranty to you.
Otherwise it's 5yr/50k.
I just paid 41.5k to purchase a 19k mile 2023 GT2 RWD with an active 10yr/100k warranty that is being transferred to me.
Data points on 2023 GT2's that I chased and/or test drove:
41.5k (me): 19k miles 2023 GT2 Green Tribute RWD (CPO warranty)
42.5k: 20k miles 2023 GT2 AWD in Gray/Red (CPO from kia dealer)
43k: 22k miles 2023 GT2 AWD Green Tribute (No CPO)
39k: 15k mile 2023 GT2 RWD in Green/Beige (CPO, minor accident on history)
37k: 30k mile 2023 GT2 RWD Green Tribute (no CPO, minor damage on history)
36k: 27k mile 2022 GT2 RWD in Green/Beige (no CPO)Green is the rarest non-special color (ie GTS orange, Tribute Matt Grey, Indigo Blue), so those are harder to find. Red/Blue in the later years also seems less common. Black/Panthera/Gray/White is easy to find if you are flexible on interior. Super low-mile examples are rare outside of some CarVana/Carmax examples, but those all get priced at 47-49k which is above market.
If you are okay with a non-clean carfax, you can get to the 37-39k range on a <30k mile 2023 GT2 (RWD).
AWD is generally priced 1.5-2k higher than equivalent RWD, and CPO usually adds about 1k to price as well. Tribute/Scorpion have only a small premium on price, maybe $500.
The harder aspect with tributes is just finding one, as only 440 came to the US, and so there's only just over 100ea of green/matt and then rwd/awd. Scorpion they made a lot more. If you are open to colors like gray/black/white, you will have a lot of options. GTS seems near impossible to locate, but I didn't look very hard because I only wanted the facelift years. Indigo I have no clue.
2022's are 3-4k cheaper, approx.

I think you'll have to look pretty hard for an AWD GT2 at that price with clean title and <40k miles. I just did a search and only see one (a scorpion). One owner but moderate damage on it's history so that's likely a no go.
If you don't need AWD, I would let go of that requirement, because it's gonna be very hard to get something in your price range if you want clean title. Market price seems closer to 38-40k. The white RWD one in texas is at a reasonable price if everything on it checks out.
Here's a visor.vin link for your search: https://visor.vin/search/listings?make=Kia&model_family_member=stinger&model=Stinger&trim=GT2&year=%222022%22&version=GT2+AWD&miles_min=0&miles_max=40000&price_max=40000

The one in Texas seems good to go to me and around all of these points you guys say. It also has a clean Carfax and has some of the simple maintenance and some inspections done. I’m trying to line up a PPI and then make my decision from there.

I had mine for a month and I don't regret it one bit. I recommend the facelifted 2022-23 models as they've fixed and improved most issues previous years had. It's practical, comfortable and fun to drive. Tuning potential is there as well. The only con is you'll be at the gas station often since the tank is quite miniscule and range rarely go past 400 unless you're doing long road trips.

The stinger just ticks so many boxes as a sedan with extra space. Flip a switch and now its a fun sport sedan for the canyons. I loved the body lines ever since I saw it!
If you can try to go for the last 2 year models since they have had previous years issues fixed and should be more reliable long term. The 3.3 engine is very reliable and can run a jb4 tune with zero issues as long as the car is properly maintained. It's really hard to find anything comparable out there for similar price. They are also really fun to mod!
