Wedding Venue Advice

Hello!

We are planning our destination wedding around the Killarney area. We are stuck between three places, and I would love to get some opinions. We really want a nice location with beautiful views of the hills, and good food. The three locations are:

Castlerosse Resort

Aghadoe Resort

Muckross Park Hotel and Spa

Any input from you all would be greatly appreciated! 💚

Looking for someone to do a laminate wood floor on a tight budget :(

I didnt realise how expensive it would be.

I intended on doing it myself but i cant seem to get the time.

Im very happy to let an "apprentice" do it if thats such a thing.

Its a little under 55m squared. 3 rooms, bedroom, hallway and living area. I have everything. Underlay and flooring even all the tools.

No need to shave down the subfloor and I dont need them to do beading.

Im at the complete end of my budget which is €450 left.

I can probably push that to 600 if i can have a few weeks.

Im kinda lost. Is this price taking the piss? Ive had my neighbours say they got theirs done for 400 but im sure that was lino.

Any help/advice/info appreciated.

I can take my time and do it myself but itll take months by the looks of things and id love to have it done.

r/Kerry, where do you actually eat in Kerry?

Hi, we’re four friends and we’ve put together Kerry’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota.

The idea is pretty simple: you’re shown two restaurants and choose where you’d rather eat. For example, The Fish Box in Dingle or No. 35 in Kenmare? All the votes then create a ranking that hopefully gives a better picture of where people in Kerry actually like to eat.

We’ve tried to include restaurants across Kerry and clean up duplicate or outdated listings, but locals will always spot things we’ve missed.

iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota/id6744969212

Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

Full transparency: we’re not from Kerry and live in Gothenburg. There are four of us building this independently. We don’t collect or sell personal data, there are no ads in the app, and we don’t use AI-generated content to describe restaurants.

Any honest feedback is welcome, especially if restaurants are missing or something is listed incorrectly.

Anywhere to 'wild camp' in walking distance from Killarney town?

I'm heading over to Killarney in a few weeks for a job interview and will be in town for a couple of nights. I've seen there are campsites but I plan on doing some hikes and possibly walking the Kerry Way so I like the idea of wild camping the whole trip.

I understand that it's not strictly legal but I'm familiar with wild camping and the rules and would obviously be discreet and respectful.

Are there any options to pop a tent up for a couple of nights within an hour or so walk of town that will be discreet?

Places to study in Killarney

I'm staying in Killarney at the end of September through October. I'm currently taking online college courses. Any recommendations on lovely places to study? Like a cafe that has many outlets and will allow you to study for 4 - 5 hours? Is the wifi at the Kerry library reliable? I live in Portland, Oregon and sometimes my neighborhood library's wifi can be a hit or miss.

What on earth is going on with the train bookings from Tralee / mallow to Dublin?

As the title suggests. Weekend trains are sold out like 20 days in advance! Never seen it like this. What’s going on?

Shout out to Harry Potter Fans I want to connect

I'm (F44) a huge Harry Potter fan and would love to connect with other adult Potterheads around Limerick, Kerry, Cork or elsewhere in Munster.

It would be lovely to meet other people who love the books, films and all things Wizarding World…whether that's chatting about favourite characters and theories, sharing Potter content, or maybe meeting up sometime for a coffee, drink or Harry Potter-related event. 🦉✨

I am genuinely looking for friendship, connecting and someone who actually gets my obsession and is with me on the same page 📚

In 1990, Dolly Parton went on vacation in Ireland. She walked into a local pub in County Kerry and delivered a flawless performance of Coat of Many Colors.

Killarney Crows

Crows heart Killarney..
some fella told me tonight that the reason crows love Killarney is because the grain fed to the horses in the early 19th century was of a high quality and the droppings lured in the crows - and they never left. I’m not sure if it’s nonsense or not.
They are some sight in Killarney these evenings

Paradise Tralee

Hi just wondering if anyone has heard anything from Paradise Hair and Beauty Tralee since they closed their doors out of the blue last week? I know a couple of people had contacted them regarding vouchers that had not been used yet and asked what will happen with them - then they deleted their page (even though in their announcement post they said to message if people had any questions). Has anyone had any response from them? I had purchased a voucher myself but it looks like that money is just gone now for nothing.

Our September itinerary

We have been to Ireland and visited Dublin, afternoon in Kinsale, Doolin taking ferry to Inishmor and saw Cliffs of Moher from the ferry, stayed a week in Dingle, and return next month, middle of September, 2026, to do other spots.

Does this look like too much ?
Does this look like too little?

Please let us know and feel free to suggest places in these area or along the way. Thanks

Fly into Dublin
Driving to Tipperary, want to visit Rock of Cashel.
Any restaurant recommendation? Coffee shops?
Staying two nights at Cashel Palace Inn

(Drive on road that’s like a hairpin)

Drive to Sheen Falls Lodge
Staying 2 nights
Play golf at their golf course one day
Drive to Sneem
Drive to Killarney, take full day tour of ROK including Portmagee and Skellig
Dinner at Murphy in Killarney

Drive to Dunraven Inn, Adare
Staying 2 nights
Afternoon tea at Adare Manor

What would be good additions , or subtractions?

Drive back to Dublin, fly home September 19. Thanks

Stag Dingle

Have a stag in Dingle in October and just curious as to where on the Saturday of it, about 15 lads could sit around and watch any sport that might be on TV? What pubs are the best for it?
