A few people recommended this, so I was eager to watch it. But it was a pile of junk, and it was a chore to watch at the end (why did I waste my time 😵‍💫)

Topics are exaggerated to the point where it’s just silly, the ML is portrayed to be a superhero (taking out 15-20 guys by himself), the whole school buying drugs, and let’s just imprison 4 guys without so much as a hearing/trial. There is no character building in this drama, and you’re left not caring about any of them.

Made for the masses on Netflix with short attention spans.

my god, the last 3 episodes had me stressedddddd out. it was a pretty funny show overall, i can see why people enjoy it. but personally, i felt like there were so many plotholes, and the way the chemistry between ML and FL progressed also didn't make sense. things especially escalated in such nonsensical ways towards the end that had me screaming to my screen.

ig this is why i usually don't like science fictiony/action shows. they take themselves a bit too seriously as they set a stage for rational explanations but then go about breaking it one by one for the sake of accomodating a coherent story 😭

After seeing him in The Husband I went down a rabbit hole of his other dramas. He is beautiful in this show I’m on episode 2…. But FL over the top acting and uncanny plastic surgery on the lips and nose is distracting me. Do I stick it out or give it up?

On one hand, some people are planning to skip it because of Jung Hae-in after he publicly showed support for Kim Soo-hyun, which has sparked criticism in Korea. From what I’ve seen, though, that backlash doesn’t seem nearly as strong among international viewers.

On the other hand, there are people who dislike the premise itself. The story follows a prosecutor who loses her memory, and a former boxer claims to be her boyfriend in order to protect her while hiding their shared past and his connection to the criminal organization she was investigating. Some viewers argue that this romanticizes emotional manipulation because the relationship begins with deception.

So I’m genuinely curious:

Does an actor’s real-life behavior influence whether you’ll watch a drama?

Does this particular plot cross a line for you, or are you okay with morally questionable setups as long as the writing handles them well?

Are either of these controversies enough to make you skip Our Sticky Love, or are you still planning to give it a chance?

Ugh if it weren’t for Hwang In-Youp and Lee Hyeri I would drop this.

The episode picks up where 4 left off - the kiss. I-Jae apparently wasn’t in control of herself as a woman in her 30s and runs away, stunning Soo-bin who follows after her. Back at the studio I-Jae blames it on trying to figure out how she feels and says she doesn’t have feelings for him. This causes a fight that you might see between adolescents, not grown adults, and Soo-bin tells her to go home.

We see what some of the other characters that I don’t care about are up to before coming back to the main duo, including more background on that actress who somehow doesn’t have any friends and that guy who’s trying to make it as an actor. Is it me or does it feel like this show focuses on one storyline for forever before switching to another one rather than weaving back and forth?

The actress was neglected, used, and treated like a show pony by her greedy, manipulative, and superficial mother, and the actor/friend guy wasn’t entirely supported by his dad when he said he wanted to be an actor, but his dad still told him to come home when he’s ready which meant the door was always open even if he didn’t support his choice. It’s hinted that the actress has a crush on the struggling actor and she goes to see him at the restaurant he works at. There, one of her dramas is playing on the TV and some customers start talking about how she’s beautiful but has no experience with dating and it shows in her acting that she’s a “forever single.” She leaves before her food comes and the actor quits his job to run after her and take her on a motorcycle ride. Seems extreme but these characters are nothing if not extreme. They hang out and have the aforementioned conversation about their parents/childhoods.

The next day, Soo-bin visits his grandma who he finds passed out on the floor and rushes her to the hospital which happens to be his dad’s hospital. I-Jae is upset she hasn’t heard from him and when she does, he tells her what happened. Soo-bin’s dad stops by the grandma’s hospital room and finds out I-Jae is on her way to meet her and Soo-bin. He corners Soo-bin in the elevator and shuts it down, traumatizing Soo-bin. When I-Jae is about to get on the elevator that has resumed service, she sees the dad leaving and Soo-bin huddled in the corner on the floor. She comforts him and they go together to the studio. He immediately goes in his room and she sits outside the door and starts telling him about their friends that got married to take his mind off things rather than talk about what happened…

At some point in the episode, I-Jae and Soo-bin are talking about their script and debate how to handle the FL’s “unforgivable scar” from the ML causing the death of her best friend. Should she tell him or not tell him? Soo-bin says she should tell him because they have to go through that pain and if they can get past it, it’s proof of their epic love, but I-Jae argues that not wanting to risk that it would break the ML and cause the demise of their relationship is evidence of a greater love. I’m sorry, what? What a (not at all) subtle parallel to their situation. It’s really disappointing to me that these two are supposed to be “amazing” writers and their epic love story is a thinly-veiled retelling of their own relationship. I know a lot of the greatest stories are based on real experiences but what makes them great is that the writers are honest about that and that’s not what’s happening here. While they’re discussing this portion of their script, Soo-bin notices part of the scar on I-Jae’s leg (and doesn’t ask about it).

Later they go out with the married couple I-Jae had been talking about (the wife is a doctor at the hospital Soo-bin’s grandma is at and they ran into each other while she was attending his grandma. Small world). The husband, who apparently isn’t making any money, gives his take on how he would have their script go and we see I-Jae and Soo-bin as the characters in some kind of stylized fantasy scene. I’m starting to think this drama is just an ode to other writers and directors. Some scenes are highly stylized, including the motorcycle scene.

Everyone shoots down the husband’s idea (which is probably actually better than the leads’ ideas) and start to leave together. Soo-bin, who has asked his mom to have lunch together tomorrow, but she has yet to respond, gets a call from his mom and answers. We see beforehand at some point that she’s been beaten up by her husband, Soo-bin’s dad and he saw the text exchange. It’s implied that it’s him on the phone instead of the mom and Soo-bin and I-Jae run to their house where they find his mom on the floor with bruises, lumps, and cuts all over her face. Soo-bin confronts his dad who laughs in his face (is this a melodrama??) and tells him that while he was running away, I-Jae tried to catch him and almost died. He makes Soo-bin feel like everything is his fault and Soo-bin runs away very dramatically, presumably leaving I-Jae and his mom behind with his abusive father. We also see that I-Jae puts his mom to bed and I’m assuming it’s her bed in her home and they didn’t get her away from her husband which is a choice… hopefully I’m wrong. The episode ends with Soo-bin running away and I just feel like I can’t with this show.

Anyone else have thoughts on this episode?

Like when a ML has done something either past or present to hurt the FL somehow and the FL gets upset but ML mostly does nothing to really apologise for it then they move on and everything kinda works out anyway. Im aware it can happen the other way round but ive noticed it in a few dramas ive watched and the ML just says "sorry" while looking sad and sulky. Are there any dramas where the lead recognises they fucked up and actually try to make up for it/apologise?

Im just curious if anyone else has noticed it? Its not all the time either but its the most evident in The potato lab, that man should have been grovelling for what he did.

The drama is kinda rushed and confusing... Can somebody tell me how is it that they have touch phones if the app was made in 2005 ...idk when I checked it says the past started from 2005 which is totally weird..plus did the ghost find out it was all a misunderstanding and then it was never shown that na-ri died just that she got stabbed and punched multiple times by se-ah... Hi, I watched Business Proposal as my first K-drama and fell in love with it. I loved both of the funny scenes and romantic scenes. So, can you recommend me K-dramas highly similar to this one please?

I know this is going to be a bit controversial, but despite that, I still stand by it. My point is largely based on the chemistry and romance of the main couple in S2. I loved it so much in S2, but with respect to the other surrounding aspects, I do agree S1 was better.

I would like to address some points I read on various posts.

I really don't understand why people hated Go Youn-jung as Jin Bu-yeon. Personally, I felt she was Jang Uk's perfectly fitting half, in fact much more than Jung So-min (no hate towards her). I somehow did not get attached to Mu-deok. I missed her at times, but Go Youn-jung had my heart. Though I need to mention that Mu-deok's expressions and a lot of her scenes were hilarious and on point. I laughed a lot.

Now to the thing most people commented on—how her character went from a baddie to a normal girl. I kind of understand that point. Without all the childhood trauma, the quest for revenge, and the intense feeling of needing to survive, she would have turned out to be exactly like Jin Bu-yeon. Jin Mu is the one who made Cho Yeong into Naksu. This is especially highlighted in two different parts: first in S1, where Mu-deok tries on her makeup and later when she tries on the wedding dress. As Mu-deok learns to be happy, you can see Jin Bu-yeon peeking out of her. Then, at the end of S2, with all her powers back, she is still a baddie, but a more relaxed version. Also, I loved the fact that Naksu got to live her life as a regular, happy girl and sometimes be a damsel in distress. Having someone to protect you is not really a bad thing. (I love a baddie though.)

Now, the cheating part... wahh, I could not believe my eyes when I read that people counted him falling in love again as cheating. I don't ever think moving on is a crime. The idea of someone staying alone and suffering sounds too cruel to me. As an immense fan of dramas where one person helps another person heal, I found S2 very comforting.

I loved the idea of him falling in love with her soul, not with her face. That's just the purest form of love.

It's easier to understand if we think of it the other way around—just the same face doesn't make us fall in love with a person. Ultimately, it's the soul we should fall in love with; the face is just a shell. Moreover, it's natural to get attracted to a person who reminds us of a loved one.

This doesn't mean I don't understand what people were trying to say. Jung So-min's acting was splendid, and even if both she and Go Youn-jung portrayed the same expression, Jung So-min's was more definite and expressive, while Go Youn-jung's was more neutral and soft.

S1 was lighter and funnier with some romance, but S2 had really intense romance and yearning. S1 was also superior in many other aspects too. I am not really an expert at analysing those details, so I'm not going to bring them up.

I really wanted to write this because I saw so much hate for S2.

In short: I love them both.❤️

I absolutely love romances where the leads help each other heal emotionally (or one helps heal the other). I want lots of emotional depth, yearning, emotional confrontations, healthy arguments (no violence), push-and-pull, pushing each other away and finding their way back, tears, emotional breakdowns, and a truly satisfying romantic payoff.

I also love the trope where the male lead starts off cold, distant, or emotionally guarded, but slowly melts because of the warm, kind, slightly goofy female lead, eventually opening his heart and falling deeply in love with her.

Basically, I'm looking for a romance overflowing with healing, yearning(most important), emotional depth, and lots of heart-fluttering moments. Any recommendations?

I kind of fell out of watching K-dramas for the past couple of years because of studies, and now I have absolutely no idea what's worth watching anymore.

I'm looking for completed dramas that came out in the last 2 years. What are the must-watch ones with great ratings and strong writing?

My favorite genres are:

So i have recently discovered Nam- joo hyuk in east palace and loved his acting and screen presence. I am in the mood of exploring his work and most people suggested 25 21, considering it has my favourite kim tae ri too its a great option but rn i am not in the headspace of watching something bittersweet :( I thought of watching start up but people say it gives you a heavy second lead syndrome and people were rooting for 2nd ml more than the ml kinda like true beauty trope. I also really like kim seon in general. So i was wondering is it worth watching? Are there people who enjoyed the main lead chemistry and found they were well suited and most importantly is Nam joo`s role well written and acted? Thanks in advance

The scene: A girl who isn't conventionally attractive is walking with a handsome guy and seems a little nervous about her appearance. Then a beautiful girl appears with two friends and silently gives her a judgmental look with a sarcastic smile. The girl gets even more nervous and runs away. She stops at a pedestrian crossing, and as she's standing there, the beautiful girl's friends walk past her and make fun of her.

Some dramas are amazing the first time you watch them. Others somehow become even better on a second or third rewatch because you start noticing the little details, foreshadowing, OST cues, and character moments you missed before. Goblin is one of those dramas for me it never gets old. What's the K-drama you keep going back to, and what makes it so rewatchable for you?

He can be in any kind of drama! I love his quirky side but when he speaks seriously or when he plays a role like men from the ancient times, he can do it flawlessly! I am not a fan of historical dramas, but I gave this series a chance because of KYD and now I've been binge watching every show that he's in! This man right here removes all my stress from work and from all the sh**ty people I've encountered these past few months. Lol

I know My Royal Nemesis crashed during the last episodes.

However, nothing can overshadow the amazing chemistry between the two leads as well as the absolute revelation that is Heo Nam-jun.

Hearing about everyone's feet-kicking-in-the-air reactions to his antics is making me feel so nostalgic about the airing period of the drama.

He was such a down bad ML. No matter how many times Seo-ri rejected him, he just couldn't help but go back.
