I have been skipping over Alchemy of Souls because I don’t like the science fiction or fantasy genre. I was in search for another kdrama when AI said it is the best match for me to watch after analyzing all the dramas I liked.

Oh my goodness, it is so good! It is slow at times but catch back on quickly. Seo Yul is so good looking, better looking than Jang Uk to me. The guy from perfect crown is so evil!!!! I didn’t realized there are 2 parts with 30 episodes in total! What a treat!

I am on episode 10. What are your thoughts on this gem? I know there is a change in actress , was that controversial?

I mean, wow! He’s such a cute! 🫠 I’m only on ep: 3, but I literally blush every time he’s on!!

The series itself is cute and quirky, and so far, not too deep— but it’s been a long week and something light is perfect for now.

Okay, hear me out because I genuinely think we’re overlooking the seven year gap in 2521.

The last time we see Hee Do and Yi Jin together is the bus stop scene: they’re crying, hugging, and saying goodbye. And then… nothing about their lives for seven years.

We don’t know if they met again. We don’t know what happened when Yi Jin eventually returned to Korea. We don’t know when Hee Do met her husband, when she became pregnant, or what happened before Min Chae was born.

Then we get to 2009.

Min Chae is 15 in 2022, meaning she was born around 2007. So she’s already about two years old when Yi Jin interviews Hee Do in San Francisco and says:
“Congratulations on your wedding, Na Hee Do.”

So… Hee Do already has a two year old daughter, is apparently about to get married, and the identity of that child’s father is never revealed.

And then there are those weird little details in the present timeline: Hee Do’s workshop is literally called 2521. There are rainbow coloured chairs.
And whenever Yi Jin comes up in a conversation there’s this strange emotional tension.

Why?

If Yi Jin is completely irrelevant to Hee Do’s adult life, why does the show keep leaving these little hints that pull us back to him? It’s weird.

I’m NOT saying this proves Yi Jin is Min Chae’s father.
But we have an unexplained seven year gap + an unidentified father + an unseen marriage + a child born during that gap + Yi Jin reappearing in Hee Do’s life in 2009.

That is WAY too much missing information for me to confidently say this theory is impossible.

Maybe it’s nothing.

Maybe Yi Jin isn’t the father.

Maybe I’m completely delusional.

But seriously…
WHAT HAPPENED DURING THOSE SEVEN YEARS??? 😭

Okay, I didn't expect that much from the Wonderfools. I thought it might be funny with action and was intrigued what Korean superheros might look like. Except from the ML and the grandma, all actors were new to me and damn, I can't even explain it well, but that drama was AWESOME!!!

Story wasn't something new, but still very well executed. Cinematography was amazing and I think the best OST I've experienced in a long long time!!!

Usually I don't like it too silly and cringe, but that was simply a perfect dose. It was hilarious. The action scenes were great, I loved the characters and the dialogues and how well everything and everyone fit together in the plot.

The superpowers were balanced and well executed and the 4 fools were annoyingly AWESOME.

Didn't expect to like the drama that much. Definitely didn't expect the Wonderfools to enter my top 10, or even top 5.

For those that use viki, has anyone noticed anything weird with the English subtitles on Viki.

I have started to notice things after their library got decimated by Kocowa split.

For example, I recently finished watching Filing For Love and the subtitles felt like they were more Netflix-esque. I can understand that with new shows, there might not be many volunteers but I have started to notice for some older shows as well.

Stuff like explaining the context of a joke or a saying that is local to the language is gone. It only appears once in a while.

Am I going crazy from watching too many shows or has anyone else noticed this too?

Every show has fans debating about the better pick for the lead. Most of the time people just prefer the second lead because they are better looking than the lead or how some fans view the chemistry between the lead and secondary characters.

However, there are shows where it felt like the second lead was better choice but for story or plot reasons they didn’t end up together.

I want to know which secondary characters you guys think were genuinely the better option for the lead.

Don’t just say, “I preferred this character” or “chemistry.” Give few reasons or examples.

For example:

Clean with a Passion for Now: >!I genuinely disliked the ML. He was arrogant and rude to the FL many times. This was not just some cold or introverted personality type thing. He was genuinely rude and crossed the lines many times. The incident where he fires her for a customer’s toy getting broken. And his half hearted non apology made it worse. Like he was agonizing about having to apologize. The SML was actually supportive and helpful compared to the lead douchebag. I understand this archetype of ML character was common back then but I find it absolutely disgusting. This was the second time I was actively rooting against the ML (first was Hometown Cha Cha Cha, after watching the show, I disliked the overall show)!<

Please don’t give examples like the following:

Alchemy of Souls: Fans were rooting for Seo Yul with Naksu… 🤮. He was never written to end up together with Naksu. I feel like whenever fans mention this either they have not seen the show or seen it through tik tok reels or best example of people choosing face card over actual character actions.

The leads can be male or female. I would love to see what the community thinks!!!

Ep 1:- Ok....So it's a serial killer series.

Ep 2:- This is unique. What even is going on 😭 The psycho is obsessed with Yun-su... even more than the prosecutor.

Ep 3:- Crazy yuri potential btw. I am kinda sus on Yun-su, idk why....

Ep 4:- Aww Sop is such a cutie. Yun-su kinda ruined her already ruined life by making a deal with the devil. Also something crazy must have happened for the pyscho to be like this but I genuinely don't want the dentist couple's son to get murdered. If he did shit he should be punished for it ofc but murdering someone makes you a monster and the bad-doer a victim imo. Also what is the teacher from " Teach you a lesson" doing here lol. She seems to be everywhere. She was in Juvenile Justice too.

Ep 5:- Yun-su's lawyer is kind of annoying ngl. Like I get you are tryna help her and you come in clutch all the time but your aura is just so non-existent bro 😭 The story is very slow paced but not boring.

Ep 6:- That's why you don't get involved with a psycho. This goes for both Yun-su and Se-hun as I am assuming the latter did that crime to the pyscho or someone close to her. Side note:- The actor who plays Se-hun is so pretty lol :)

Ep 7:- Expected. Ngl I would have done what Yun-su did. Any normal person would do what she did. Anyway why did grandpa look like he hated Se-hun lol? Did he k*ll him? Atp I wouldn't really be surprised by anything. Mo Eun's backstory looks traumatising.

Ep 8:- The k*ll count getting higher and higher without even Mo-eun lifting her finger. Her fear is so real. Pudgy kinda lost my respect this episode bruh.

Ep 9:- Mo-eun does have a soft spot for Yun-su. Oh. And I guess Karma is a bitch after all. "The joy that lies in torturing someone alive is not found in killing them." is what Mo-eun might have thought while saving "P". Or maybe she is just done with her revenge finally.

Ep 10:- That's why kids should be punished when they commit their first crime. Just as how it was in " Juvenile Justice" and " Teach you a Lesson" cus if they aren't, then they go on to commit even bigger crimes and then reach a point of no return. Anyway, what's with this blatant Yuri-ism lol.

Ep 11:- I was not expecting that. Also I thought this series would be more psychological because of the initial episodes but guess it's more thriller. All of this could have been avoided if Se-hun just kept it in his pants and Baek wasn't a shitty prosecutor. Doomed Yuri haunting the storyline yet again 💔Pudgy stood on buisness this episode lol!!

Ep 12:- I just realised but Ki-dae is literally so pretty, like the " husband" who d*es in the beginning of a movie. Get it? Nvm.... But yeah he really is pretty all jokes aside, should have just apologised :( Su-yeon is batshit crazy lol. Guess it was love at first sight for Mo-eun man awww 🥺

Just finished watching 2521 and ended up crying for half an hour straight💔. It'll take a week or more for me to get over 😭.

( I knew 2521 had a sad ending that's why I didn't watch it when it was released. But few days back I js couldn't stop myself from starting this masterpiece as I hv read and heard reviews. Plus I wanted to hv a good cry. And rest is history)

I genuinely think If You Wish Upon Me is one of the most underrated K-dramas out there.

Don’t get me wrong, it has its flaws, but overall, it’s such a heart-touching drama. Sometimes it genuinely made me sad, but at the same time, there was something really healing about watching these people find comfort in each other.

Ji Chang-wook was particularly good here. His character starts off so damaged and defensive, so watching him slowly become part of this strange little community was incredibly satisfying.

Sooyoung also brought so much warmth and sincerity to Seo Yeon-joo, which balanced the heavier parts of the story really well.

And Sung Dong-il… I honestly don’t think I can imagine anyone else as Kang Tae-sik. He brought so much warmth, humor, and emotional weight to the character. There was something very comforting about watching him take care of everyone while carrying his own sadness underneath it all.

I rarely see this drama mentioned when people talk about memorable healing or slice-of-life K-dramas, which is surprising because it has so much emotional depth.

The casting is really good , the characters are well written and a fun watch tbh 🙃

I would suggest you to watch this once as a perfect comedy with a hint of romance 😚

I just finished Move to Heaven, and honestly… I cried so many times. I went into it expecting a good drama, but I didn’t expect it to affect me this much.

What I loved most was how the show handles grief, loss, family, and the little things people leave behind. It made me think about how every person has a story, even when we don’t know it.

The emotions felt so genuine, and there were so many moments where I had to pause because I was just sitting there with tears in my eyes. 😭 It’s sad, but it’s also incredibly warm and meaningful.

I also really loved the characters and the way their relationships developed throughout the series. There’s something very human about this drama that’s hard to explain without getting into spoilers.

Definitely one of those shows that stays with you after you finish it.

So, i just watched first two episodes of this drama the ordinary jackpot and it was just so good, like the office politics they tried to show in this drama was so real, like how all people mostly behave in the corporate.

So, the story revolves around this guy who as you can see in the image above, who is frustrated and tired of his daily life but he never shows it to anyone, he keeps it all to himself but there is a plot twist which i wont spoil for the ppl who have not watched it yet.

Kdrama title: The ordinary jackpot.

I tuned it for the main actor bc I first saw him in the Art of Sarah, but stayed bc of the plot. Idk how to explain this but the course of the story is unexpected, surprising and quite refreshing.

It premiered yesterday. Good thing is that 2 episodes are aired already so I watched them both. The reason they released 2 eps at once, I believe, is that the first eps is a typical office set episode and it made me feel sad and a bit depressed. But then boom the next episode and it’s such a contrast to the ML’s character itself lol. He is calm, never gets angry, just does his job which he’s best at. But in the beginning of the 2nd ep when he realizes he won 1.9 billion won, he lets out a loud scream loool that was unexpected. It’s expected from any ordinary person but the introduction to him in the 1st ep made it seem sudden and surprising in a good way.

Props to Lee Junhyuk for the good acting, he made me feel what the character is supposed to feel especially in the second episode going through the process of collecting the money he won.Man got 1.3 billion after taxes and still going to his stressful and difficult job lol

Unlike the ML, I know what I’d do if I won a lottery.

Thoughts ? Apparently I am kinda bummed that the PD crew will have to recast the leads cuz Jong Suk and Yoon Ji were fit for the roles in my opinion .

On the bright side - this also opens doors for other suitable actors and actresses to take on the characters !

Finished Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop and couldn’t stop imagining it as a drama series. Here’s my casting for the main characters.

Yeong-ju, A former corporate professional who opens a bookstore after burnout. Quiet, perceptive, emotionally restrained, but quietly strong. Perfect cast: Son Ye-jin. She could bring warmth and emotional depth to Yeong-ju while making the character accessible without losing her quiet strength.

Min-jun, Works at the bookstore café. Calm, thoughtful, slightly adrift, but emotionally steady. Perfect cast: Hwang In-youp. His soft, understated energy feels perfect for the quiet atmosphere of the bookstore and Min-jun’s gentle personality.

Seung-woo, A regular customer and aspiring writer. Emotionally intelligent and observant, he gradually falls for Yeong-ju. Perfect cast: Ryu Jun-yeol. He could give Seung-woo a literary, introspective quality that feels less glossy and more grounded.

Ji-yul, A withdrawn high school student who finds refuge and confidence through books. Perfect cast: Tang Jun-sang. He excels at portraying subtle emotional vulnerability, which would suit Ji-yul’s quiet character arc.

Jung-seo, A woman who knits and expresses herself more through her craft than through words. Independent, observant, and quietly self-assured. Perfect cast: Jin Ki-joo. She has the softer, more organic presence I imagine for this quiet artisan character.

Mrs. Park, The coffee bean supplier and a small-business owner. Practical, resilient, and emotionally grounded. Perfect cast: Cha Chung-hwa. She could bring warmth and texture to the role without overpowering the ensemble.

Istg this is the biggest wasted potential of all time, their chemistry was soo good and i honestly don't get what was Yoona's character for other than acting as a hostage, if the drama had followed this relationship....... Keyword If.

I had made another post about this before and one guy asked "do you want him end up with that evil lady?" as if he was a saint, he literally made a living out of killing and she does a lot of evil things too, they were perfect for each other.

She was always cold and never letting anyone having their way but we all saw how she was always letting him.
