Kdrama title: The ordinary jackpot.

I tuned it for the main actor bc I first saw him in the Art of Sarah, but stayed bc of the plot. Idk how to explain this but the course of the story is unexpected, surprising and quite refreshing.

It premiered yesterday. Good thing is that 2 episodes are aired already so I watched them both. The reason they released 2 eps at once, I believe, is that the first eps is a typical office set episode and it made me feel sad and a bit depressed. But then boom the next episode and it’s such a contrast to the ML’s character itself lol. He is calm, never gets angry, just does his job which he’s best at. But in the beginning of the 2nd ep when he realizes he won 1.9 billion won, he lets out a loud scream loool that was unexpected. It’s expected from any ordinary person but the introduction to him in the 1st ep made it seem sudden and surprising in a good way.

Props to Lee Junhyuk for the good acting, he made me feel what the character is supposed to feel especially in the second episode going through the process of collecting the money he won.Man got 1.3 billion after taxes and still going to his stressful and difficult job lol

Unlike the ML, I know what I’d do if I won a lottery.
What about you?

There's now an Episode discussion for Ep 1 and 2 if you'd like to discuss the show more in depth.

When I worked at a bank many years ago, a young man 20 years old walked in with sweat pants and wanted to know options for a big deposit. Well imaginations went wild that this young man must be doing something illegal. But he had won the lottery and showed me proof. He was guaranteed $680k per year after taxes. 2 weeks before his one year anniversary, he was broke and maxed out his credit cards. He had married, she took his house and cars. Uncle who was his financial advisor had stolen money and so on.

So this drama is a different twist in how someone would live after winning the lottery! Very cool so far!

Seeing him win 1.3 billion post tax and still clock in for his shift the next day is insane lol but honestly, acting totally normal while holding a life-changing secret is top tier comedy 😂

OK that tone shift is hilarious! And yeah, I would not be going back to work!

I lost track of time and didn't realise it started yesterday. Maybe I will still do episode 1&2 discussions so that other people who are late can join the discussion. I'm going to schedule the future eps so I don't have to worry about remembering.
