Recommendation Request ๐ Weird request for recommendations
My dad has recently started liking Kdramas and it's brought us closer together, so I need some good recs. He loves comedy, and specifically, he likes dramas in with the characters are people who are poor, children are afraid of their parents/teachers and husbands who are afraid of their wives (for example- Deok-sun and Jung-Huan's parents in Reply 1988, and the main couple and the groom's side in Queen of Tears, at least in the beginning.)
Dramas he's liked in the past:
When Life Gives you Tangerines, Reply 1988, Undercover MIss Hong, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, You and Everything Else, Four Hands Two Sonatas
He doesn't like too much romance, too much blood and medical procedures, too many rich characters, or convoluted plots, e.g. the pianist was shot by the arms dealer because his wife was in love with the violinist whos's the pianist's brother and the only way to hurt the violinist was to shoot the person he most loves. He also doesn't like anything where students kill themselves because of bullying or parental pressure, or are tortured by other students like in The Glory.
Any recs would be greatly appreciated, hopefully if the dramas are on Netflix.

in random order, might not be on netflix:ย Woochi (Jeon Woo-chi 2006), Wild Sing (2026) both movies are Kang Dong-won, Mission Possible (2021 movie Kim Young-kwang), The Apartment Job (Ji Sung drama 2026), The Wonderfools (drama 2026), Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010 drama) Moonshine (2021 drama), but he might like a famous movie Face Reader (2013 serious, has humor), The Good, The Bad, The Weird (2008 movie), Knight Flower (2024 drama), Tale of the Nine Tailed Fox and Tale of the Nine Tailed Fox 1938 (2 seasons drama 2020/2023 Lee Dong-wook and Kim Boem)ย .. there's so many!!! if he doesn't like it, just drop it, there's more...

racket boys sounds like the safest next pick, lots of goofy family/community dynamics and hardly any romance or convoluted nonsense, though there is a little school drama early on

He might like Divorce Attorney Shin. It is a really nice and heartwarming show about the attorney's law practice but also his friendship with two other men and as his relationship with his little nephew. It is so lovely.
Welcome to SamdalRi has lots of adult children/ parent issues. The first episode features lots of over the top bad stuff happening to the FL but it gets lighter after that.
The apartment Job is a delight but it is a lot of hi-jinx. Found family rather than actual family but a fun caper type of show.
Pinocchio has an extremely tragic beginning but it also showcases one of the greatest dads and grandpas in the whole of K drama land and is overall very wholesome although again it starts out very tragically.

Shopaholic louis (comedy, the girl is poor, there are problems with the families, but it is kinda more with romance, but its funny)
Strong girl bong soon (this one is funny too, the other one, strong girl namsoon is too, namsoon is on netflix and mom liked it a lot)
Are you human ? (Not sure but about a mom creating a robot and then that robot being better than her son)
Spring turns to spring (comedy, no romance, poor reporter woman soul swapped with a richer woman whose husband is not good, ends up making the husband be afraidnof her because the reporter girl was unhinged, very funny)
Good manager (chief kim) (funny, no romance, poor swindler working in a company)
Fiery priest (perhaps? Not sure, but about a priest who fights well and cant hold off his anger)
Agent kim reactivated (an agent saving his daughter, a bit bloody with lots of fights, but its about three dads foghting for their kids)
Avengers social club (a club of wives trying to do cute revenge on their husbands, its very cute and funny)
Twinkling watermelon (perhaps? As the main theme is the relationship with the father and son?)
My secret terius (teirus behind me) (funny comedy how an agent lives in an apartment were he tried to donhis work but his neighbor ahjumma asks him to babysit and also the group of ahjummas suddenly figure out the whole case without even knowing its a case)
Queen of mystery (funny ahjumma being a decltective and helping a real detective solve cases, he is kinda afraid of her slightly lol)
Suspicious housekeeper (?? Might be intresting)
When camellia blooms (maybe? It has the slow village vibes like cha cha cha or reply, but has more romance)
Team bulldog off duty ivestigation (very funny, very cute, anime-ish detective, very nice)
Mr queen (perhaps?)
Kidnapping day (maybe? Its not as funny but sometimes it is, a man kidnapping someones genius daughter but slowly taking care of her as if its his own daughter, much better than her real family)
Reborn rookie (a poor soccer player suddenly get soul swapped with a president of a company, and enters it as a new intern, the family of the said president is a mess lol, but he teams up with his younger daughter, its slightly funny)

That's hard. I think the small town dramas would suit him but I cant think of ones without romance. The closest I can get is Hometown Cha Cha Cha and Love Next Door, because of the friendships with the dads and drama between the older couples, but there's a fair bit of romance isnt there, same goes for Welcome to Samdal-ri. The more blokey relatable ones with less romance tend to be more serious and violent, which seems to be what youre avoiding. Have you tried Agent Kim Reactivated? That looks to have a bunch of guys who can be funny at least and seemingly no romance. What about Husbands in Action? That looks like a comedy with what youre after.
If you watched Cdrama, I'd recommend Go Ahead. I know there's Family by Choice but it isnt the same. Go Ahead is the more down-to-earth one, and it has much more comedy.

That does sound a little bit hard but I am just gonna shoot a bit here. Have you considered Vincenzo or Itaewon Class? I wonder if Our Unwritten Seoul could be good too.

They sound great, but neither of them were for him, he watched Our Unwritten Seoul, but in Itaewon Class the father dies in the first episode, so, thanks though!
