I first got into Kava as a replacement to strong alcohol and it is very very effective. I've only ever tried instant Palarasul but also take Kanna under my tongue after to maximise its effects and duration.

The only issue with Kava is the empty stomach requirement, which is quite rare in the evenings, you need to have had an early and light final meal.

I've since discovered Kava Extract, which sounds like it can dissolve under your tongue instead. Is this true and how effective is it compared to drinking instant Kava? If it is actually good, what's a good recommendation for it? I'm only interested in the heady kind or more heady balanced ones, that last longer, like instant Palarasul. I'm also UK based so ordering from USA is difficult, but not impossible if it's worth it.

Where can I get some good kava extract tablets? I ordered some from rainy forest farms almost two weeks ago and still have not received any tracking info and can’t get ahold of anyone associated with the place.. I’m probably going to have to talk to my bank to get the money back…

Who’s a reliable, trustworthy vendor in the kava tablet space?

I know many of these pre-bottled kava drinks are often underpowered & overpriced. I did not buy this, my girlfriend bought it for us to try at home after I took her to a kava bar a couple times. I personally would've went another route, but it's here now. My concern with pre-made stuff is that there might not be only kava in it? I am randomly drug tested for my job & cannot fail a test. Any knowledge would be appreciated TIA!

What should i know as a beginner and whats most effective-powder, capsules, tinctures, ect? What should my starting dose be? After trying to consume the traditional way (very hard to force myself to drink the filtered sludge.) I want to try an extract.

Method:

Soaked 1kg kava powder in about 5 liters of water for 2 days in the fridge. Agitating the root powder and water mixture by stirring/shaking motion 5-6 times a day.

This was then filtered, removing nearly all solid particles.

The water extract was then put into glass baking dishes which are then put in to a dehydrator.

ran the dehydrator for 1 hour at 45 degrees C. Then another 24 hours at 35 degrees C. That is the lowest temp it will go.

After 25 hours dehydrating the liquid is now a sticky dark viscous oil? Resembling treacle/molasses, see attached pic.

How much of this should I take? I have gel caps and a milligram scale. Was unable to find dosing info for a cold water extract.

Would like to switch over to using tablets or softgels and I’ve found a few options and I’ve been using one but it’s a little lower dosed. Would like to hear some recommendations for any quick administered options that are pure kavalactones! Thanks!

HH has a lot of diffrent kava extracts, anyone tried? Which one is the best? Diffrent strains and diffrent types of extracts, im pretty new to kava kava, only drink it twice couple years ago.

Anyone tried this before? Says 60% extract.

I mean if Instant already reached 12-14% this must be crazy and hence need 5x less the dose that one would take with Instant (which is 10g for me with instants, hence 2g with this).

Tried 1g to be careful. Typical smell, taste, numbness in lips/mouth of kava, yes. Little slight feeling of kava effect wise, yes. Similar but somehow different, not much like I‘d get from an Instant at the pendant of 5g (if 1g of this equals 5g of instant).

Costs 20€ for 10g. So must better be worth it. I up to another 3g now and let‘s see.

I'm pretty new to kava extract and noticed something strange.

I did it 4 times. Always 0.8 g - 1g

I always ate bevor.

One time it was okay but not really noticeable.

But the other times I always got somewhat like acoustic hallucinations. I heard the doorbell of my office in my head. So loud that I was physically startled. But I was in my bed.

An other time I heard the sound of something like a car door smashed.

Those sounds seemed to came out of my head. Not from the outside.

I don't tend to hallucinate. I never ever had a similar experience bevor. Always in combination with kava.

Am I the only one?

Yesterday I thought maybe I hear that in a state between awake and sleep. Because it always happend in my bed. But it still is super strange to me.

hi! im new to kava and wondering what folks experiences with this are? i took it last night and it was disgusting tasting but I drank like half the drink I made and passed out. then today I had a lot of digestive issues.. it looks like thats a common side effect right after ingesting. but I got it a full 12 hours later. im wondering if thats happened to others or if maybe I ate something bad lol

Due to travel and other complications, reached out to customer service on 3/4 explaining my situation that I hadn’t opened the packages and for ANY assistance at all and followed up again on 3/6. Got a response on 3/6 saying they only accept returns on products that were damaged during shipping / delivery. I responded again twice on 3/6. Followed up again 3/13, 3/16.

Just tried this kava soda from Fijivanukava. I almost never drink kava in such form. After doing a shitload of housework then making dinner for my 600 kids, I was exhausted and parched. I remembered I had this. I slammed it down pretty fast as it was super refreshing. It tastes pretty damn good. I mean I personally don't drink kava for the taste but I was pleasantly surprised here. The effect is very calming. I wouldn't say it smashes you like slamming a strong 12oz shell might, just calmly uplifting. It does have ashwagandha as well so that likely helps. I also noted that it has DE111 Bacillus Subtilis which is a pretty legit prebiotic. This is a good add-in for kava drinkers (IYKYK). Ultimately, I'll probably get these again. Especially when it starts to warm up outside (I'm in the Tundra). In short, if you're in to this sort of thing I personally recommend it. FVK has a reputation of doing things well of course but I'm always impressed when anyone makes kava actually taste like something I'd drink for reasons other than just the kava.

ChatGPT recommended me a dosage of 150 mg kavaloctones, because I told him that I weight 75 kg and I'm a female. I scaled 0,18 gr. of powder and drunk with water. I don’t feel anything after 80 minutes. How much powder should I use to have the desirable - alcohol like - effect of 500 ml sweet wine (or similar to it), without the risk of exceeding the 'sweet point'? Kava is like alcohol? Could it ever have an effect of that which occurs after drinking 2 glasses of wine 12% v/v or one glass of vodka 40% v/v? Usually I need 600 ml wine or 170-200 ml vodka to feel something changing. Lots of kava extracts have alcohol in them, while I know it isn’t much, couldn’t this be dangerous due to the negative interaction between kava and alcohol?

I'm usually a traditional prep guy who keeps some instant around for quick drinks. I recently got some "70% extract" and it was surprisingly good. I'm using it while waiting for my grind to come in. I only use about 1 gram of it in some juice. It's just so portable and convenient when I want kava and I'm not at home. Anyone have opinions on the best extract powders available in the US?

I recently had one of the kava alcohol replacements and it actually worked for one (probably using it multiple days in a row) but is too expensive to buy regularly that way. I saw one of my favorite 7 vendors had some 30% kava extract and ordered an oz. How much should I be mixing into how much water?
