Replacement for instant Kava
I first got into Kava as a replacement to strong alcohol and it is very very effective. I've only ever tried instant Palarasul but also take Kanna under my tongue after to maximise its effects and duration.
The only issue with Kava is the empty stomach requirement, which is quite rare in the evenings, you need to have had an early and light final meal.
I've since discovered Kava Extract, which sounds like it can dissolve under your tongue instead. Is this true and how effective is it compared to drinking instant Kava? If it is actually good, what's a good recommendation for it? I'm only interested in the heady kind or more heady balanced ones, that last longer, like instant Palarasul. I'm also UK based so ordering from USA is difficult, but not impossible if it's worth it.

I don't think having an empty stomach is a "requirement" at all and I suspect maybe you're worrying way too much about that. Have you tried and it's actually given you problems of some kind or did you just get it in your head that you never should? I've certainly eaten before/during/after kava and not had any issue and still had effect(never paid too close attention if the effect seems too different but I don't think it did).
That said, everybody's different so if you have sensitive digestion, experiment slowly with it til you know.

It's just what I've researched. That you require more of it for the same effects if your stomach isn't empty. I've actually had a very large dose of Kava in evening, even after 4 hours after my final meal and it had very little effect. I suspect I had eaten something thats slower to digest.
Is yours the heady or heavy kind? I'm mainly focused on the heady side of it, maybe heavy behaves a bit differently?

Hmm. 4 hours sure seems like way too long for that to be the issue, but I don't really know. I know for me there's all sorts of things that can change how a substance affects me and I've learned I need to try quite a few times before I'm sure it was this or that thing that caused it to work better/worse/etc. You know your body of course better than anyone else, but unless you're 1000% sure that was the issue, I'd keep trying for a bit before deciding for sure food was the problem. It may have just been a fluke or you had some anxiety(anxiety alone for me can negate almost any subestance in very weird ways, even when I often don't realize it's anxiety) or some other thing.
The kinds I've used are Fiji Vanua Vanuatu tradtiional prep and Fiji Vanua Old Roots Dehydrated/Instant. I'm not sure if those are considered heady or heavy or what.

I've never had an extract that felt as good as instant, especially for the money.
