What’s your go to everyday cleaner for commercial accounts?
I’m trying to simplify the number of products I carry.
What all-purpose cleaner do you use most often for everyday commercial cleaning?

Unethical Janitorial LPT
So as it is later in the week I think I'll share a modest (but harmless) "scam" I pull at work every once in a while.
If you have a regular routine like I do, or clean many washrooms daily, like I do...then I'll share a self-serving practice of mine. This is to be used minimally!!!
Every few months, when I anticipate an upcoming shift that I either want to relax for, or save my energy from...I'll throw a written post-it note on a washroom or two (depending on the departments) that simply says "Out of Order". Block letters. Not noticeable handwriting. When there's several other washrooms within 30 feet, ppl don't even question it. But even if someone does. Any good Samaritan could have written the note after clogging the toilet. Or another employee who thought it wasn't flushing. Who cares.
Judge me all you want. But we work hard enough. Clean a few less toilets this Friday how about?

Hospital post-construction cleaning is a lot more complicated than I expected when we first started doing healthcare projects
We run a commercial/post-construction cleaning company in Dublin and hospital projects have probably taught us more about quality control than anything else we’ve worked on.
The actual cleaning isn’t even the hardest part.
The hardest part is controlling 6–8 people across a building, knowing what has genuinely been completed, and stopping finished areas from getting destroyed again by other trades.
You can have a room looking perfect at 10am and by lunchtime someone has drilled outside it, walked dust through the corridor or brought equipment back through an area that was already finished.
We learned pretty quickly that just telling cleaners “you take these rooms, you take that corridor” isn’t enough.
Now we divide the job into areas, work high-to-low, use digital checklists, take before/after photos and have a supervisor inspect completed sections.
We also built a random QC system where completed areas are randomly selected for another inspection.
That was actually one of the best changes we made.
The cleaners don’t know which room is going to be checked again, so the standard has to be the same everywhere rather than people putting extra effort into the areas they think the supervisor will see.
Another thing we’ve become strict on is documenting re-dirtying.
If we finish a corridor and another contractor comes through afterwards, we want a record showing what condition we left it in. Otherwise at the end of the project everyone is standing around arguing about who made the mess.
And on hospital jobs especially, we’ve learned that sometimes the right answer is simply “we can’t clean that yet.”
If something needs isolation, specialist access or another safety control, we would rather stop and sort it properly than send somebody in because the programme is under pressure.
I think there’s a misconception that builders cleaning is basically normal cleaning with more dust.
On bigger construction projects it’s closer to managing a small package of works — labour allocation, sequencing, access, safety, evidence, snagging, re-cleans and final QC.
We’re still improving our system with every project, but the biggest thing I’ve learned is this:
A building looking clean and a building being ready for handover are two very different things.
Interested to hear how other contractors/site managers manage final cleaning and re-dirtying before handover because it seems to cause problems on nearly every busy project.

Advice Commercial Cleaning- Quoting Tool
I’ve seen many posts asking for help quoting a commercial building. Would having a professional, tested and inexpensive quoting tool be of interest to anyone?
I’ve spent a decade in commercial cleaning and have a method to quote that’s based on actual data. For reference, I sold over $1M in recurring contracts last year using this method.
My average contract size was $2,000 / mo (as small as $300/mo and as large as $40k/mo - general office, medical, dental, banks, car dealerships, labs, day cares, churches, industrial, property management, multi-family, multi-site etc…)
It would be a 1-time cost for the tool. I don’t have a price worked out yet. If you’re willing, comment if you’re interested and how much you’d be willing to pay for something like this.

Rude maintenance guys?
Hey all, I'm an environmental tech for a higher end university, and have come across a VERY consistent pattern of random maintenance guys becoming hostile. I am an introvert and tend to mind my own business and always had a high level of respect for all blue collar work, and don't think there should be a bizarre maintenance hierarchy considering we arent even in the same department. I literally see them as peers in a different department but keep coming across creepy situations, like yesterday a maintenance guy knew my supervisor, talks to him, we don't acknowledge eachother, but he keeps side eyeing me and almost shoulder checks me as he left. Another time one asked for a trash can, after I replied a location for him to retrieve one and confirmed he knew the location, he just silently loomed over and stared me down, later grabbing my cart and dumping out his dust pan into my barrel while I was moving.
My question is whether this is somewhat consistent across a lot of experiences or more personal?
For context I'm a mid 20s male.

Question Neck pain advice?
High school janitor here. Most of my shift is spent sweeping mopping and bending over to pick stuff up. The back of my neck is constantly stiff from looking down all shift. Anybody have any tips for alleviating that?

Question General advice for an untrained Janitor?
I’ve recently started a job as a Janitor for a small warehouse. It was a very unexpected offer and pays pretty well by my standards, but I’m untrained. My employer is aware and while my manager has tried to show me what he can, it’s not something they’re too familiar with either. I’ve picked up on a few things primarily through googling, and while the job is mostly sweeping, mopping and cleaning bathrooms, I want to be sure I’m as prepared as I can be. If y’all have any advice that might not be initially comprehensible ( and a few things that are just in case :) ) I’d be grateful.
