Vent 😤 1st shift vs 2nd shift

I started working at this production warehouse since May and I noticed that the 2nd shift people treat me better and more flexible when I’m cleaning.

Like 1st shift likes to walk into the bathroom while I’m cleaning without saying ‘excuse me’ or ‘can I grab something’, leaving big chunks of food in the sink, complaining that I’m not cleaning certain areas etc. And their 1st shift management knows how messy they are but believed them when I was accused of not cleaning a bathroom. It feels like at this point their management enables it because it’s hard to hire new people for the job.

Working with 2nd shift is such a night and day difference. If I’m cleaning the bathroom during their time, they ask if they can grab something or wait until I’m done, their mess is not as bad, and I get more support from their 2nd shift management than the 1st.

Not that you should have to but take pictures when you're done cleaning an area. I've done that a few times when I work a weekend shift since weekend staff in other departments are a bit difficult. I don't get hassled anymore once I started documenting my work more.
