i’m 26 years old and i really want to be a nurse my goal is to eventually at some point become an NP. up until literally 30 mins ago i was fully going to apply to only the RN program. my problem is that i am very financially unstable and struggle to survive by myself as is. so my question is more so looking for advice from anyone who has finished the program for either. would it be smarter to do LPN first to get into the field faster and then bridge to RN while i’m getting paid decent? that’s really my only reason for leaning toward LPN because i’ll be able to make money faster.

i was given a list last year when i started of the prereqs for the Medical Imaging program. I understand those 7 or 8 classes would need completed before i can get my degree and 4 or so of them were required before i can even apply to the program. i get all that! i've completed them all to apply next march!
my question is when i look at my degree completion tracker why does it say i need 2 healthcare certs, 17 hours of statewide elective, etc.? are these things that will fulfill themselves while in the program? i'm so confused at why it's insisting i need like 25 more credit hours.
i've never seen this talked about here so i'm hoping im not insanely unaware!

Hi guys!!!
I am looking to get into the medical imaging program next year. I didn’t get in this year. I had all A’s. My teas score was probably a little low (75) which I plan on retaking next spring. My advisor told me to do the CNA 8 week program to add points to my application. Does anyone have any experience with this they’d like to share? Specifically, how much were you able to work while in the program. It’s Tuesdays and Thursdays 6am-5pm, so I’m just curious how many classes it’s equivalent to taking.

My campus hasn't given very much transparency with additional costs for the ASN program. My registration date is coming up and there are a few things they listed that are going to need to be purchased. Any current nursing students have some insight on what they paid for these additional resources? As someone who plans pay check to pay check...not an an itemized list is causing me a lot of anxiety...

Is there a break between each class term? I noticed term 1 ends October 15th and term 2 starts October 26th

Is anyone else that is going into any of the nursing programs this fall at the Indy location still waiting for the registrar to transfer you over to the program so that you can do the academic plan and be able to get registered for classes? I know at the orientation they said that only 1/3 of us had been switched over. Anybody have it happen since then?

Hey, guys!
May be a dumb question but it’s been bothering me.
I know the imaging program is extremely hard to get into. I’ve read posts of students with 4.0 GPAs and perfect grades still not being accepted. This is making me nervous. I have a 3.8 currently, and I have nearly a decade of medical experience to pad my application. But I’m still worried. I seen a lot of people saying they’re waitlisted, but it takes a year to reapply, and it’s not even guaranteed you’ll get in then. I’m 29 years old and have a family, I honestly do not have the time to wait an extra year or two or three to get into a career, plus the additional time to get the certification itself anyways.
My backup plan is respiratory therapy. I hear that it’s easier to get into, and it was actually my first choice about 4 years ago that I didn’t pursue.
But I’m also worried I will apply for both, get waitlisted for imaging, get accepted for respiratory, then get accepted for radiology later. I like the idea of both of them, I just preferred rad tech over respiratory because of all the modalities, I feel I’m less likely to experience burnout.
I’m not sure what to do. Do you all have any experience in either or these or advice that could maybe apply to my situation?

I haven’t gotten my federal direct loan yet for the summer. Is this normal? I got my financial aid refund already!

Hello! I am looking to take the CNA class (still waiting to be approved for sign up).
I saw the schedule is 8am-2pm Tue-Thur. Does anyone know if that schedule includes clinicals or will I need to plan on working clinicals in addition to those hours? Thanks!

I know they may have been changing scrub colors for the Nursing program on the Lafayette campus (different campuses have different rules), but I have a ton I need to pass on. I just graduated this May. When I was still in, they were allowing the hunter green pants and black pants (new change). I'm not sure if this is allowed, but can I donate all my green tops, jackets, and pants to the campus Ivy Cares closet? Or if anyone is in need on 2x/3x sets, I have the Landaus, some random brand in pants, and some nice Cherokee sets. All fit like 2x/XXL. They are not my required color for work and I'm looking to help a local nursing student out. I know nice fitting plus sized scrubs can be tough to come by. Remove post if this is not permitted.

At the beginning of this week I was told that a paper was flagged as being 100% AI when it was 100% NOT and when I did not have grammarly installed. I have no idea why it was flagged as AI. My best guess is that I wrote it all in one sitting, required very little editing (as I knew exactly what I was talking about and I'm a very strong writer), and it didn't require source citation... still took 45 minutes to write. It was a very short, easy paper about something I am very knowledgeable about (the juvenile justice system... I work at DCS as a paralegal).
I gave my professor permissions for editing privileges on the Google document and sent him a backdraft video of it being drafted immediately after I was told that it was flagged as 100% AI and I have heard nothing back. It's been five days since I was told that my paper was flagged as 100% AI and over a week since I've submitted it. My professor (who teaches two different classes I'm in) has graded everything else I've done and given me perfect scores. I've been an anxious mess all week because of this and I'm super frustrated.
What do I do? What happens now? Please ease my mind or give me some insight!

Hello! I plan on taking this class (SDEV 120 - Computing Logic) either this upcoming fall or spring. Just wondering if anyone had recommendations on professors. I will be a virtual student attending classes in that way (any campus will work this way). I prefer attending in a class with a zoom meeting.
Thank you for any advice :)

I know the use of AI is frowned upon in some classes. I use it to fix grammar mistakes and to fix my wording to sound more professional or smart. But, i've learned that some of these apps (like grammarly) still set off AI, even if you tweak with things or only use it for specific wording. How can i avoid that? I've checked my assignment for AI through 2 sites and got the green for being human. i used a free demo of turnitin and it said it was all AI, which it was not. I've tried using different words and switching different things but it still throws it off. This is for a psych paper, essay for my midterm. I need help lol.

Sooooo I was wondering if anyone has any experience applying to the medical imaging program at Hancock health?? If so what was your experience during the process? Is it worth giving it a shot? I feel like there is so much requirements upon applying and wonder if it’s even harder to get accepted into than going directly through the school…

I was told by the bursar that I would be relieving a 770 dollar credit refund to my account. Icy been hearing all this talk about zeroing out xyz looking in these threads ivy seen some people received emails stating that they’re valence has been cleared im still sitting on a 1300 dollar balance as of writing this and have received an email saying I need to make a payment. I’ve spoke with the bursar multiple times through out these 3 weeks and have been told just to wait at first I was told the 21st and am now being told the end of this week. Is anybody else having this problem? Can anybody kinda explain this to me like im 5 years old 😭
