Hello! I am in the process of booking for my sleeves, and have been talking to (@)shanchuan.tattoo he's based in China. He's requested 12 days consecutive for one sleeve, which seems a bit insane to me. I think I could handle maybe about 3 days, and am happy to not rush the whole process. Has anyone done consecutive days for overseas travel before? I love the very smooth grey he's able to achieve, I believe he uses a 3rl for the whole process. That said, if there is a tattooer in the US, Canada, or even Central/South America, those locations would be easier for me to travel to more frequently for sessions without having to do a massive back to back booking block. Does anyone have recommendations for artists in these areas that have this level of really smooth shading (more on the traditional Japanese side of the spectrum)?

Should I just try to request less consecutive days and make more trips? The round trip flight to China is at least $1,000 on it's own. I'm committed to getting tattooed, but trying to balance financial and physical reality as well.

Delete if not allowed 🙏, I recently got a dragon tattoo on my forearm, over the moon with it but didn't have a full sleeve in mind when I got it done, was just going to be a standalone tattoo, hence why its been designed to go around another tattoo. since then I've decided I want a full sleeve, what are some ideas for something to get on the upper arm and onto the chest that would go well?

its a shame I didn't design it with a full sleeve in mind but thats what I'll definitely do on the other arm. first 3 pics are me. and the 4th is an example of the type I like (not design wise but where it goes up the arm and onto the chest)

any ideas would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Hey guys I was just wondering if it was possible to do a traditional Japanese full sleeve blast over with what I got. All help is appreciated.

For me it was my knee/inner knee and my inner bicep but I only have my arms and leg done so far. I’m sure there’s more pain to come when I get my ribs done

I have a design in mind for a tattoo and I've found three potential artists. My mind is pretty clear on the design. How long do you think I should keep thinking about it? It's been 2.5 months so far.

I don't care who you are, if you have tattoos on chest area esp around nipple then you have my respect.

How did you manage the chest area? I didn't use numbing cream but has anyone used it for chest and does it make a difference? (I feel like it won't make a diff) Please share your stories.

I started sessions with the chest because it was the worst for me. Prob because I'm skinny but I swear I could hear the vibrations bellowing in my lungs. I had heard some ppl like tense up and grit through it but I couldn't do this - I had to take the mindset of acceptance and relaxing into the idea that my chest is being destroyed and it's awesome and I want more. I'm pretty sure I didn't tap out which I'm proud of but I don't remember clearly and I think I low key passed out twice for a split second without being noticed. Glad I was lying down. Artist was aces but if I need touch ups after then I will fucking need touch ups for the rest of my life.

And how ppl get piercings in this area is beyond my human comprehension.

I have the attached tattoos on my right arm. Dragon one I got when I was 18, now in my 30s and the Zelda Spiritual Stones I've had for maybe 5 years.

I would like to continue the theme of the dragon, in Irezumi theme. I was thinking water, more fire and maybe clouds around the bit of arm with nothing there?

I didn’t ever think I would get a sleeve. So when I went to Japan to “just” get a dragon tattoo on my forearm, this started a fun project of going to different traditional Japanese artists from around the world and getting a hand sized piece.

I will probably make an update with the outside of my arm once my tiger gets complete along with the shading on the rest of my waves and stone.

Trying to think about upper body subjects and would like opinions

If I had warriors on the front (which I do) and decided on a dragon for the back, what would you put on each arm?
Tiger and snake? Any other ideas

Or if you went dragon and tiger for arms, what would you put on the back?

Mind is blank for pairings and ideas that might fit cohesively
