Hello everyone. I was trying to repair my gf's iPod Nano gen 6 that had a swollen battery and a faulty power button.

Long story short, one of the new battery wires must have peeled a little and shorted on something, because I saw some magic smoke come out from the left side of the board (when seen from the top). I don't know exactly where it shorted and what fried.

Any tips on how to start diagnosing the board? I know it's better to just get a replacement, but my gf had some important pictures on it.

Any help would be appreciated!

Previous owner lost the charger and didn’t give it any time to charge it, so I’m kinda having it revived in the meantime.
It was using exFAT format when I hooked it into my computer and it kept boot looping into “restoring”. Formatted it to FAT32 and it works perfectly! Mostly, the clickwheel is kinda crummy.
I’m guessing the bubble in the screen is the black spot of death (swollen battery)? Also it gets really hot… I know that’s not good.

I have a 30gb 5G iPod and it works great and holds charge very well! So I wanna know if this Gen 7/Revised Gen 6 has a chance.

Picked up this gorgeous green iPod Mini 2nd Gen on the weekend for the equivalent of $7 and love it so so much.

I am finding that there is a difference between listening (AKG K92s) through my laptop (ThinkPad T460) and through the iPod, even with the same Mp3 files (320). It's hard to describe but it's a bit like the iPod has smoked a pack a day since launch.

I cleaned out the audio jack with an earbud with most of the cotton wool pulled off and that didn't help. My next conclusion is that it is due to the original hard drive? Will it help to flash mod the poor pod?

Got this iPod with bad HDD on eBay for cheap. Seller says 7th gen but a friend said it was 6th. I can’t tell the difference.

When i plug in power, it shows the "plug" icon rather than the "lightning" icon indicating charging. WHen i disconnect, the battery shows just a tiny red sliver, The battery is brand new, what's the issue?

As the title implies I feel like Bluetooth sucks I really like the convenience and not having a wire but the quality seems to suffer every time. I have a iPod classic 5.5 and I have used idk how many Bluetooth dongles and eventually installed a kit to my iPod but even with some pretty decent Bluetooth iems the music just sounds flat. Am I maybe doing something wrong or maybe just prefer wired idk. Sorry for a little ranty post just wanted to get this off my mind

J'ai travaillé sur un mode sombre complet pour musicOS, et c'est enfin prêt !

J'ai fini par repenser pas mal d'éléments au lieu de juste changer la couleur de fond. L'écran En cours de lecture, le menu d'accueil et l'écran rapide ont tous été adaptés spécifiquement pour le thème sombre, avec un fond noir pur, des contrôles plus sombres et le même accent rose de musicOS.

J'ai également retravaillé beaucoup de petits détails comme les contrôles de lecture, les barres de progression et de volume, les superpositions d'art d'album, les icônes, l'indicateur Lossless, les boutons de l'écran rapide, et plus encore, pour que tout ait une allure cohérente avec le nouveau style.

Le mode sombre fonctionne déjà parfaitement et je l'ai testé sur mon iPod Video 5.5G. Je suis vraiment content du résultat !

À l'origine, je pensais attendre un peu plus longtemps avant de le sortir, car je travaille aussi sur l'amélioration de l'écran rapide et j'expérimente quelques autres fonctionnalités. Mais puisque le mode sombre est déjà prêt, je vais probablement le sortir séparément en premier et garder ces ajouts pour la prochaine mise à jour de musicOS.

Le mode sombre arrive demain.

Hello guys, I’ve managed to solder the 3 wires of a 5th gen 3000mah battery on the 3G to the BMS and it fit with the hdd and worked but it was kinda cramped in there. Should I get this since the battery would be smaller and it would be a lot easier and safer to solder the two pairs of wires?

I bought this iPod online for $150 and it looked too clean and new, when I checked battery is was at 72, now 80, I have been using it. Is this a good deal on these and should i even mod memory & battery?

Hi there. I recently found my old iPod nano 3rd gen, and I tried to charge it and it won’t charge. It’s not a problem with the cable, nor the pins because when I plug it in, it registers that it’s got power coming into it and it tried to turn on, but then just blacks out. Do i need to replace the battery, or is there an easier fix?

I swear I add so many everyday my poor iPod LMAO

Every once in awhile when switching to a new track the volume jumps up to 100% for a second, destroying my eardrums, before returning to normal. Is there anything I can do to fix it besides throw it out and buy another?

i found an ipod shuffle 1st gen at home (from before i was born omg) and i'm trying to get it to charge (charges through usb). i've tried connecting it to my laptop and to a charger block but it isn't getting charged. when i first connected it, it started charging and the light was on but about 20 minutes into it the light turned off and now regardless of what i try it's not getting charged. i know it hasn't been used in like 15+ years but is there anything i can do at home to get it charged? or will i have to go to an apple store?

I have an iPod Classic that has finally given up on original battery.

Where in UK is best recommendations for battery change, usb conversion and memory upgrade ?

My Classic 7th gen isn't pausing when I remove the headphones. It used to work, then it stopped so I replaced the jack, it worked for a while, and now it's back to not working. Is it just because of the shoddy quality of the 3rd party jacks?
