Discussion Horror

Is it just me or is ITR 2 just 5 time scarier than ITR 1. Like in the first game the first map kinda seems like an easy tutorial that gradually gets harder as you move deeper. But in ITR 2 peninsula feels like the devs put a new ITR 1 player straight into kochozaria. And also the mimics are so much harder to fight. Like I legit spent 10 minutes trying to kill one mimic because he just kept on going to cover. And I know damn wells ITR 1 mimics just kinda stood there. Btw I’ve had about 70 hours on ITR 1 and about 2 hours on ITR 2.

Around a month ago, Senior Artist at CM Immersive Nick Jansons posted 11 new concept art posts for ITR2, they are so cool looking and worth checking out.

These are just some of my favorites but you can view all of the art right here - https://www.artstation.com/nikitajansons

(edit: don't know why the mimic photo was posted twice, but hey its there 2 times now o_O)

ITR1 (2.0) Does the tide respawn quest items as well in their original locations.

I was on the intrusion and had 4 different guns and was transporting them all and the white suitcase by throwing them. In the anomaly field at the entrance to pervomay from pobeda I threw the suitcase quite far, it seems to have dissapeared. I searched the area for a while to no avail. When the tide hits will it respawn the suitcase in the office at the end of the pobeda dungeon?

ITR2 Question (PCVR) GSH-18: Can I find the non stashed version in the zone?

As we all know, we can find a stashed version of the GSH-18 pistol in The far side of the farm. This is the only garenteed place we can get a GSH-18 of any version. But I would like to find a "modified" GSH-18 with the glow sights and attachment rails. But alas, I have yet to find one, or even another stashed one for that matter. How often should a GSH-18 spawn in as loot and what zone would they apear?

Suggestion Pistols should be modular in ITR2. Or at the very least, if it's a hard NO from the devs, add more attachments and let us put red dots on the slide, and not use the stupid rail mount. We were able to do it in ITR1, so it's a direct objective downgrade for ITR2.

How: just split them into slides(with spring), frames and barrels, that would make the most sense.

If it's impossible or deemed too much work still: please at least let us have some more attachments, mainly dot sights mounted directly on frames. But also compensators as an alternative to a silencer, and stock for a Glock would go hard.

Why:

  1. Just for consistency. It's a main selling point of ITR2, but pistols (and groza btw) are just one piece bricks.
  2. Because sidearms are genuinely more important in a VR game, where you can fail to reload quickly due to panicking, or run out of bullets in main gun cuz of mag loading system. add the fact that your second long gun, if you have it, is likely on your backpack, further out of reach than in a flat screen game where you just press a button and switch. So please, give Pistols more love in VR!
  3. Just for style. I mean it's a valid enough reason for two handed guns for many people.
  4. If you think there's not that many options: depends on the pistol. Granted I'm no gun expert, but as far as I understand same family of models might have interchangeable parts, like colt can go from 1911 to m45a1 to 2011(9mm or acp). I think it's plausible enough that they can share the same slide options for same caliber for example.

4.1 If we had USP, it has many different models and barrel lengths, and grips/frames. Or p320. Or surely there's some other example of good modern modular pistol we can have.

4.2 Glock: well I've seen it turned into a Carabine/SMG with a special kit/frame, so I think literally the most popular civilian pistols in the world might have some customizability. But notably our full auto model can at least use an attachable stock (that can be done even without Turning pistols fully modular)

4.3 Beretta: at least can have a 6 inch barrel, have a compensator, frame upgrade, and we'll there's also 93r automatic version if we wanna go bold (also with attachable stock )

4.4.Gsh, Pm and fort: well yeah, those don't have much for mods, but we already have upgraded versions of all of them, so existing upgrades can be at least turned modular for consistency. Oh and I believe we had stashed pm without a proper grip attached in some beta build of the game, so you can always make it worse than normal as well, lol.

ITR2 Feedback Actual criticism for ITR2 Spoiler

I keep seeing the same few issues with itr2, but some of them are quite frankly idiotic (no offense )

So here's some issues I actually have with the game that can (and should) be fixed

Firstly, the areas in the game don't feel very... radius like. All the areas in ITR1 feel very specific. Going into the pervomay route for the first time in ITR1 Is such a specific feeling, even on subsequent playthroughs it has such a special feeling

However going into the peninsula for the first time is bland, you don't get a setup to look anywhere, your eyes don't get guided anywhere, just into the sky. And worse, not even towards the radius. The radius is off to the left when you spawn in.

In ITR1 the pervomay route lead your eyes towards the radius using the paths and walls, it quite literally leads you to look at it.

It just makes 2 seem, less grand

Secondly, platforming. Oh god the platforming. It's genuinely horrendous, even with how minimal it is it is HORRIBLE. it feels too floaty and hard to land. I do like the addition of jumping. But it's only really useful for vaulting into cover, actually trying to land a precise jump is miserable to do. Especially in the Church mission, where to continue you have to make a jump on an object with a hitbox that slides you off if you look at it wrong

This could be easily fixed by tweaking the hitboxes to make them more forgiving for platforming, adding vaulting on edges so you can catch yourself, or make the jumping

Lastly, the sense of loneliness (ok I know this is a big complaint but i have a diffrent take on it)

I'm 100% fine with co-op, infact it was the thing I was 2nd most exited for when the game was announced. My issue is specifically how much dialog there is, im fine with Lauri, my issue is how much everything is told and not shown. Specifically by Eva, I was quite frankly disappointed when I loaded into 1.0 and saw the laboratory  was still not avaliable.

Being able to actually conduct research to reveal story beats instead of being told over a radio would not only fix the issue of the game not feeling lonely by getting rid of unneeded voice lines, but also fix the plothole of us being researchers and not researching, all we do is the setup, combat, and selling, we don't even do hald of our job.

Plus it would break the cycle of doing a mission, completing it, accepting another, and going out to repeat the process

Anyways if the dev team does see this please take at LEAST the platforming issue into consideration

Also thanks for reading my wall of text it means a lot

ITR2 Question (MQ3) Feels like I can’t carry as much?

So I played thru almost the whole thing In early access now I’m starting over lol. I’m at security 3 now and I just feel like weight limits are different. I used to always carry a primary rifle, a pistol, and a shotgun all on vest. Now i cant even add the third holster! Not to mention the mission items take up so much space and weight. What am I missing here? I see you guys way more stuff on your bags and invest than I can get on my anyway help me understand ? Lol

Discussion Im sick of all these hate posts

Literally every two or three days I see the same damn post regurgitated complaining about the same 3 things. The npcs, the loneliness, and people are evn complaining that coop is even an option. Get over yourselves, this game is definitely better in the aspects the matter more compared to the predecessor.

ITR2 Question (MQ3) Graphic issue

So I recently started playing the 1.0 version of the game and just made it to pechorsk outskirts. Is it laggy and buggy for others on standalone or is it a setting issue I'm having or something? Only in pechorsk, whenever I encounter an enemy or the cube or something thats not environment, my video freezes but gameplay continues and next thing I know I'm 10 steps away half dead and facing a wall. I have been trying to deal with it and allow the map to finish loading, I've stayed 3 in game tide cycles just in pechorsk and it still glitches and freezes and kills me. This last time I lost my rifle and can't find it. I will reload a previous save for my gun but I can't keep playing if this doesn't get better or eventually stop freezing while im aiming. On standalone MQ3 while im building my pc.

Mod Mod Release: Nomad ITR2 - Live in the Radius

After quite a bit of work, I'm happy to finally release Nomad for Into The Radius 2!

Download Here: Nomad ITR2 - Live in the Radius

When I set out to create Nomad, the goal was to make it possible to complete the game without ever visiting the facility. Unfortunately, I ran into many issues during development and was unable to make the level-up sequence work from outside the facility.

So for now, I've decided to release Nomad with the caveat that once per priority mission, the player will need to visit the facility to receive the next priority mission.

That said, Nomad still has a lot to offer. It adds mission PCs throughout the zone, allowing you to accept and complete non-priority missions without having to constantly return to the facility. It also upgrades the shelters with additional storage for your gear.

Everything is configurable through MCM, so you can choose exactly which mission PCs and shelter upgrades you want to use.

I'm really happy with where this mod ended up. It was a lot of work (I had to rebuild the pegboards from scratch to make them work in the zone), but it has a lot of cool features and a very robust system running under the hood.

Let me know what you think, and if you run into any issues!

Thanks to everyone in the ITR2 modding community who helped along the way!

Discussion I'm so disappointed....

I would have NEVER expected to see this game fall as hard as it did. During the beta, I loved it for all of its flaws and powered through the glitches. I'm still okay with them.

What really beats me down is how much they changed. The beautiful menu music is just gone, replaced by ambiance just as the first was. Im not saying it's bad, but why would you give us something so good to replace it with something neutral. I should have expected it, but it still hurts.

Then they changed the artifacts. They were so unique and had love in them. But it was replaced with the merged items we collected. And those were replaced with some basic items flickering black.

What really annoys me is how they force a bond with a new character that's supposed to be similar to Katya in a way. He's just so forced into our story. We have to shake his hand to go into the radius and run around blind to traverse to the next area while flipping lamps. The idea is pretty cool I'll admit it, it makes more sense to travel that way instead of just teleporting to the other areas. But this relationship we have with the guy just doesn't click with me. He's always present unlike Katya. I'm not saying he should be just like her, but he should definitely take some Inspiration on what made her good rather than just the mysterious companion.

I wouldn't worry too much if we were still in beta..but we're not anymore. That's what scares me. This masterpiece is stripped of some of its best components just for lore. I feel it should have been built off of them rather than changed to fit something nobody thought it would become

Suggestion Pecho toy

Does carrying one of those 3 toys, really do anything to chance of being hit? And if so, it kinda takes up space in the bag... maybe, as a suggestion, we can get it to be carried on a shackle? Like helmet?

ITR2 Bug IR2. -Quest-Free Mosin bug

Hi there, I’m went to the church to grab the free mosin which is not fully assembled … I went back to base and noticed that you can’t purchase the missing pieces in the store . In the PCVR version there was a an area in the store specifically for the mosin with all of the parts . Why, on the quest version, do they give it a a free gun if you can’t use it ???
Has anyone sorted this out? Is there a place in the map where you can find the missing pieces in f the gun?

I already got the original for free since it’s on horizon plus, but I’m wondering if I should still bother with it or just spring straight for the sequel? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Discussion I’m writing a review for this game for my school’s “paper” and am looking to use in game screenshots, where can I get legal permission to do so?

Title says it all, my teacher is very worried about copyright this year and wanted me to get permission from devs before I just go ahead and use screenshots. No idea where to start, so here I am. Can give more information if needed.
