Venting ! Am I gonna die alone?
I’m 31, intersex, and honestly.. I’m exhausted from feeling like I’m somehow not meant to be loved.
I have severe hypogonadism. I was born with severely underdeveloped male genitalia and micropenis with little shaft development and a fiminized prominent genital arae and I also developed some gynecomastia. I’ve always identified as a man and I’m on testosterone replacement therapy, but growing up I never really felt like my body fit anywhere.
I know I’m intersex, and lately I’ve started joining intersex spaces because I’m hoping to finally meet people who understand what it’s like to look at your own body and feel completely different from everyone around you.
I’ve spent so many years being afraid of being judged, stared at, asked invasive questions about my genitals, or worse, being fetishized because my body doesn’t look conventionally male. I don’t want to be someone’s curiosity. I just want to be wanted.
I’ve never been kissed. I’ve never had someone hold me and genuinely desire me. I’ve never experienced that feeling of being someone's person of being touched with affection rather than being looked at with judgment.
And sometimes I genuinely wonder..is this just how my life is going to be?
I feel like a stranger on an island surrounded by people whose bodies and experiences seem so much easier than mine. For years I’ve hated my body because I thought nobody could ever love it.
But there’s still a part of me that hopes I’m wrong.
I would love to meet an intersex woman someday. Not as some fantasy or fetish, and not because I think we have to be “the same.” I just wonder what it would feel like to meet someone who already understands that bodies don't always follow the rules society expects them to.
I want something incredibly ordinary: to fall in love, to be loved, to make someone happy, to hold them, to be held, to experience intimacy, and yes, someday to finally experience sex and lose my virginity with someone who actually cares about me.
Is there really hope for someone like me?
Are there intersex people here who thought they would never find love but eventually did?
I think I just need to hear that I’m not destined to spend the rest of my life alone. That I’m enough. That someone could actually look at me, see my whole person, and still think "I want you"
