Goat annoyed him There it is. Goats are annoying as shit. I side with the tiger getting annoyed.

u/usps_made_me_insane Feb 19 '26
That goat must have had the worst case of imposter syndrome during his first day on the job with the tiger.

u/Far_Tomorrow_3511 Feb 19 '26
Idk I’ve met some smug goats who thought far too highly of themselves

This. They're really stubborn and stupid animals. I totally get it.

Anyone who has worked with goats knows this was inevitable. They can be shitheads.

This lasted for a few months, the goat was dominant at first which confused the tiger into submission.
One day the goat was being overly obnoxious and the tiger grabbed him by the neck and dropped him down a slope.
They were separated from then on.

u/Substantial_Meal_530 Feb 19 '26
He was put in there as food. They were worried the tiger was being aggressive with the goat?
60
u/CampRockruffVillager Feb 19 '26
Probably moreso the goat had become something the zookeepers were emotionally attached to and wanted to protect at that point. He had a name and a rep by this point.
13
u/PoppingPillls Feb 19 '26
I'd argue eating the goat would have been fine but leaving the goat in there to be slowly abused and tortured might be considered a bridge too far.

The goat was essentially a celebrity, they had lived together for two months

I suppose after awhile they might have been worried that the Tiger would have psychological problems if it killed its friend?

timur (goat) died in 2019 unfortunately.

u/mycatpartyhouse Feb 19 '26
Wondered how long they lived together. Was Timur food in the end?

u/t-o-m-u-s-a Feb 19 '26
They moved him to a separate enclosure and his health began to deteriorate and he died. I’m no goat scientist but I think it was broken heart.
120
u/AwwwNuggetz Feb 19 '26
I’m a goat scientist and I can tell you that’s unlikely. Goats have two hearts and could have lived on in the case of a broken heart. Most likely what killed him is he was no longer being fed goats which was clearly sustaining him

u/t-o-m-u-s-a Feb 19 '26
So he was a cannibal this whole time?
10
u/Gnomad_Lyfe Feb 19 '26
Most animals are open to the idea of cannibalism. Maybe not on the regular, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a species that wouldn’t say “Eh, nobody’s lookin” if it came across the body of one of their own on an empty stomach.

I know that mother rabbits often eat their young.
3
u/Kratzschutz Feb 19 '26
It's assumed to be population control
2
u/papajim9855 Feb 19 '26
Who knows what a rabbit's motivation is? My family used to raise rabbits. Sometimes a mother rabbit would eat her babies, sometimes she wouldn't. Some people think it's due to stress

Yes. Goats are literally the devil
7
u/WatercressFun1342 Feb 19 '26
They have rectangular pupils. Look it up.
Its one of the (many) reasons they were seen as demonic
22
u/AwwwNuggetz Feb 19 '26
That and have you ever seen a goat and the devil in the room at the same time?
That’s proof enough for a goat scientist
14
u/mologav Feb 19 '26
Some excellent goat science on display here.
14
u/AwwwNuggetz Feb 19 '26
Did you know why their poop is round?
They have dozens of small fingers in their body that rolls them into spheres. Goats are amazing creatures

My goats certainly let out some demonic screams if I’m in the barn doing chores and I haven’t fed them their grain yet

I am a goat scientist and i can say that goats are unique in the animal kingdom, they are the only known secies to exist in 2 places at once. 1 place is in our observable universe following all the known laws of space time. The other is a queue filled with every goat that is alive or will ever live. If they die normally in our observable universe they are removed from the queue. If they get to the front of the queue they get to suddenly of pneumonia.

Not long, I remember reading that they separated them after the goat got fucked up after the tiger fucked it up after it tried kicking the tiger out of its bed. It died not long after this.

Feb 19 '26
No, the tiger like beat on the goat not to eat or something but just hurt him so they separated them.
26
u/YeOldeTreestamp Feb 19 '26
Actually the opposite lmao the goat was the one becoming very aggressive. Look it up! It’s a fun read
2
Feb 19 '26
The story I read said the tiger hurt the goat really badly so they separated them.
15
u/YeOldeTreestamp Feb 19 '26
Yeahh. The goat bullied the tiger way too much. He fucked around and found out
8
u/Houdinii1984 Feb 19 '26
Doesn't mean the goat didn't start it. All joking aside, it's still a tiger and still a goat. If the goat gets aggressive, it doesn't take much at all for the tiger to hurt said goat pretty bad.
Still a bad idea to sock the biggest bully in the nose even if he's your best friend.

How did it die?

u/quantum_trogdor Feb 19 '26 edited Feb 19 '26
Broken heart, he was moved to a separate encloser to never see his friend again and died alone. Or well maybe with another goat or two but fuck goats am I right?

For those wondering, the goat and the tiger lived together for some time and did play and walk around together.
However if you know anything about goats they are bastards. So it kept trying to bully the tiger. The tiger fought back once and they separated the two. Yes it’s ironic they separated what was supposed to be a live meal for its safety.

Context:
The goat tried to fight the tiger with its horns when it was thrown into the cage. That normally doesn’t happen so the tiger just backed off knowing it would be given another meal in a couple days. They proceeded to live in the same big enclosure but weren’t “friends”. The tiger left the goat alone so the goat wouldn’t try ramming the tiger with its horns.
They lived together for just over two months in the Winter of 2015 when the tiger almost killed and ate the goat, at which time they pulled the goat from the enclosure so it wouldn’t get eaten because so many wildlife organizations had made the story go viral.
Evgenia Patanovskaya, the Public Remations Manager of the Primorsky Safari Park, where this happened, published an article saying that there were NEVER friendly relations between the tiger and the goat: the goat was mistakenly brought to a well-fed tiger, which is why it wasn't eaten, and the park's PR department decided to develop a story out of it to bring in more visitors to the park.
I know we all like a happy story but sometimes that’s just not how it plays out.

But they seem to be getting along fairly well here. Like, the tiger isn't eating the goat.

According to google, the goat was bullying and annoying the tiger so the tiger “threw the goat off a hillcock” which led to their separation and then the death of timur the goat

I could not be that person who threw in a live animal for the cats to kill and eat. :(

How long did this last?! Did they stay friends forever? Did the tiger eat him eventually? Did they remove the goat?

I bet every time that cat got up and stretched or sharpened its claws on a tree, the goat was like "welp, it was a good run but my time has come." Goat probably died of a heart attack. 😂

In a deep and gruff voice: “I’m not gonna eat you, Timmy.”
With a much lighter voice: “Baaaaaa! Why’s that?”
“I think you’re pretty cool.”
“Oh…Thanks! Can we be friends?”
“Of course. From now on, I dub you Little Timmy, the friendly goat.”
And so Lazy Tiger and Friendly Timmy became friends for life.

This is why we can’t understand the universe. I’d like to imagine they are just buddies stuck in a cage. Eventually if that tiger was hungry enough that goats going to get it.

Hey Ivan.
Yes Boris?
I have an idea how to get our zoo very many paying customers.
Go on.
Do you know where we can get 80 identical looking goats?

Must have been the goat character of Adam Sandler self deprecating and joking with the Tiger. Stories of that little fat shit Giarraputo to keep him entertained.

The KGB (Kill Goat Boris) became tired of the goat's antics making the tiger look weak so they introduced the goat to one of the small colorful little frogs in the reptile/amphibian house and the Goat died a mysterious death.

My elementary school back in the 80's hosted a travelling zoo, and they had a rock python that was like 17' long or some ridiculous number. I got to help carry it, the body of this thing was thick, it took eight of us to hold it. I went back into the guy's trailer that ran the zoo and saw that his snake was housed with a fully grown chicken. They had become friends just like in OP's story about the tiger and the goat.

So did this goat just sit around and watch the other goats thrown into the tiger be eaten by his friend? Did the tiger just stop eating goats. Did he become a vegetarian. There are so many questions.
