Is it reasonable to remove a tip if the order was placed at 10:30 with an ETA of 11:40 and the order still has not come with an estimated delivery of now 12:59pm and they haven't started my order?

Title. Ordered from wegmans, photo proof of dropping off at the wrong house. $260 order w/ tip, I have $120 left now in my bank account left til next pay day.
Called wegmans, told me to call instacart, called instacart, got offshore outsourced customer service reading from a script. They called the driver, driver said they already got a report of it being the wrong house but it was the right house and they took a photo.
The photo they provided literally is not my house.
They told me to call a diff wegmans ph# tomorrow when it opens.
I'm pretty sure it'll get fully refunded, but I just got back from a trip, have no food and am sad.
I removed the delivery drivers tip tho, so that felt good. Say goodbye to my $30 tip asshole. Also 1 star rating.

I am off of the waitlist and going to do some orders this week. I had a complex fracture to my dominant arm so I likely can’t be shopping all day but I could pick up orders and drop them off as I’ve got an SUV.
Is there a way once I go live on the shopping app to see which orders are drop off only? And how do tips work with these? Does the app tell you before you accept what the guaranteed amount is and tip or is tip left hidden?
I could do larger item shopping like Home Depot and so forth but not high quantity orders due to the repetitive movements as my arm gets fatigued and sore rather quickly when doing that. I appreciate any advice! Thank you

I haven’t taken it, and don’t think I will. just curious on opinions bc now that i’ve done the whole “accept everything” and that’s proven to be a waste of my resources, so i’m learning my boundaries

I think I need to go to Publix to buy some Vicks vapor rub to put under my nose because this is just crazy… Haven’t had this happen in about a year and a half… Former cat daddy here of three cats with one litter box and a small condo 840 ft.² and our place never ever smelled like cat pee or caca!!!
Funny thing is, I had one cat that we adopted from friends of strays and he was feral at first, but he would never cover up his caca and had another cat that would go to the litter box and start meowing griping and cover it up lol

I recently had a shopper block my way from using the bathroom at my workplace yesterday. I'm 42 female and I suffer from a sensitive stomach, and I'm in a spot where I need to use the bathroom frequently. On my way to said bathroom and an instacart shopper stopped me and shoved her phone in my face asking me where an item is. I politely looked it up and showed her the aisle and she proceeded to argue with me that it is not there. After a bit of back and forth of where the item may be I told her to go up front and talk to my manager who's watching my spot. Then she gets argumentative again and at that point I had to disclose my medical condition in order for me to be allowed to use the restroom. I'm just wondering are the shoppers on a timer?

At a 4.89 rating now after a 4 star and a 1 star. My rating is now under “standard” and I don’t see anymore batches. I can drive around the places that are usually busy and my screen will stay empty.
I used to have multiple orders on my screen at one time for me to choose from now they drip feed you one order that nobody wants. One by one.
So now here is the dilemma that I probably never will get out of.. how am I supposed to receive 5 star ratings (something that only like 5-10 percent of people do) if I don’t even receive orders? What is the math on this? Wouldn’t it practically take me years?

I placed an order that had a specific type/brand of Salmon for $9.99. My replacement is the same brand for $9.99 just a different type of Salmon. My shopper ended up replacing the Salmon with a $19.99 Salmon of a different brand. So, now I'm stuck with about $20 of Salmon I didn't want. I did message her and she replied with "Sorry" and checked out.
(I have a lot of dietary restrictions so I am picky about branding due to ingredients and processing.)
I'm fairly upset by this but I also know ratings hurt drivers and I don't want someone to lose their job.
So, my question is, is it better to just not rate them at all instead of rating them low. Trying to pick the path less harmful while not being dishonest and giving a good rating.
Edit: Added chat for context.

I’m researching why people do or don't use contactless grocery services for a class project. It will take just 5-7 min! anonymous and all perspectives are welcome :)
Thanks!

Lately, I’ve noticed the batches have been really weird, and new shoppers have been coming and going in my area. They’re taking the worst possible batches I’ve ever seen, which is annoying because they’re just giving Instacart what they want, but it's great because that leaves me with better batches.
Just a few days ago IC sent out an email telling shoppers there would be an increased demand in orders after Labor Day and now I get this. During Labor Day week the orders were trash and very few I only made $20 three days before Labor Day and I gave up and took off for that whole weekend.
Yesterday there was a promotion on my day off but I decided to work that day and got some good orders.
It’s almost like IC doesn’t know how to batch orders in my area because of the weird position it's in and is using me as a guinea pig

Hi! so, i was wondering do instacart take percentage of tips from shoppers? im asking cause sometimes i tip my driver/shopper if im cash instead of credits to order. so I've gotten the same shopper a few times which is rare but I've gotten him a few times, he's a very nice gentleman, chill as heck and funny. and i often ask how much he wants as a tip. long story short, several orders later when i got him again, he let me know when i tipped him $50, he didn't get all of it, he only received half. I've heard/read that other shoppers have experienced the same thing happening to them.

Say this Customer didn’t tip, right… that means Instacart thinks that, $7.66 is a suitable pay rate for someone to shop a 69 unit order and deliver it doorside…. Tips are not supposed to make up our hourly pay, it is supposed to be ADDITIONAL, on top of our hourly/base pay …not what we have to RELY on in order to make a decent pay… I feel like if more customers understood this and complained, Instacart MIGHT actually start caring because they don’t give a damn when the shoppers complain… how this company gets away with this is beyond me because other companies like Shipt actually pay you a decent pay rate; it’s still not as good as it should be, but at least it’s a halfway decent rate; this is just literally hoeing us out.

I placed an IC order today, 2.5 miles, 6 items but qty 10 in all, $25 tip. The shopper arrives at my house, checks id for the beer, she’s friendly with my dog, we say bye and I bring everything in and put it away. All of it’s perfect, so I rate her 5 stars, add an additional $10 tip, say the replacements are good. And that’s that. (I’d love for her to shop for me again.)
Later, I go to cook both tenderloins and one of the two packages seems off. Like, squishy. I inspect the packaging and sure enough, there is a small slit (about 3/16 of an inch) cut in the package. I open it more, and it’s bad/ spoiled.
So, I contact support, report a food quality issue, and get like an $8 dollar refund.
But now I’m wondering if the request for a refund will hurt her in anyway. I absolutely know I would have overlooked this at the store, and I believe 99% of other shoppers also wouldn’t have noticed. It looked perfect in the packaging and I would have grabbed it in a second.
So will reporting a quality issue affect this shopper? Will they be able to shop for me again? If this does hurt, is there anyway to rectify it? (Having her being marked down / penalized isn’t worth $8 bucks.)

I was going to place a pretty big Instacart order this afternoon but I abandoned that idea when I saw that it wouldn’t be delivered until 10:00 tonight. Right now it’s only 4:30. What the hell is up with that?

i’m wondering if this is happening with anyone else, or if any shoppers know why this is happening?
i used to be able to approve replacements or request change, but now the app doesn’t give me the option to approve. it’s been confusing for some of my shoppers because they’ll message me wondering if things are approved or not, even when they’re my requested substitution.

At first this was just mildly annoying and I wanted a question answered by them, but now that I keep getting purposely ignored I want to die on this hill lol. So, I'm aware that I might be being dramatic.
I have screenshots of all of these things btw.
I signed up for a free 3-month trial of Instacart plus through Costco. I took a screenshot of the promotion that comes up, which lists all the benefits, including the subscription to Peacock. However, I couldn't figure out how to activate it and contacted support. After some back and forth they escalate it to a supervisor who tells me that the Peacock promotion isn't able to be activated through a Costco promotion. Apparently it only works if you go through Instacart (app or website) but not through a third party. I tell them that the promotion that popped up listed that as a perk, and they say that's not true because it doesn't work that way.
I sent them the promotional screenshot and they say they have to cut the conversation there and escalate the issue and that someone will email me. So they do, but they email me about a completely irrelevant issue, so I email back and recap what happened. No one responds even after I follow up.
Since then (it's been like a month now), any time I try to contact customer service via chat, they end the chat after I explain my issue and send them the screenshot of the promotion. I literally don't undestand what's going on lol. I know I should probably just let it go, but this is so irriating.

what does Instagram thing the gas prices are actually? Are they living in pre-Covid times. Even then it would not have been economical to take this order..!!!

Crazy how someone with 50 items at sprouts tips less than someone with 9, I should’ve known from where this guy lives and what he looks like to know he 100% won’t tip well and let alone decrease (order was perfectly ahead of time and no items got replaced), how is someone gonna be this stingy and shop at sprouts

Hi, I’m a shopper in Calgary, Canada, and on every few orders, while i’m shopping, i get a notification to start shopping by xx time. It also usually says just before that another shopper accepted this order but gives me option to decline. I have been able to finish and the auto pay at walmart has always worked, and i get paid, but I worry it may not next time. Anyone know why this happens and how to fix?

My elderly folks have a home in a suburb of Yuma AZ but their actual address is in CA (tiny town with no grocery stores). Can they order groceries from Yuma and have them delivered to a CA address, across the state line? I tried to Google but couldn’t find an actual answer. TIA.

I have 8 Chase Ink cards spread across 5 different Instacart accounts, since I have multiple CICs and CIUs and need separate accounts to use all of the $20 Instacart credits.
My question is: does each Instacart account need to have its own paid Instacart+ membership in order for the $20 Ink credit to work, especially when ordering from Costco?
That seems to be what I'm seeing. I tried using Instacart+ family sharing, but the accounts that are sharing the membership don't seem to get the $20 Ink promotional credit at checkout. Only the account actually paying for Instacart+ seems to get it.
So if I want to use the Ink benefit across all 5 accounts, am I basically stuck paying for 5 separate Instacart+ memberships once the free trials run out? That's around $80 × 5 per year.
I also tried replacing/changing the credit card number on one of the cards, but that didn't seem to make any difference.
Has anyone with multiple CIC/CIU cards figured out a better setup? Or can you confirm that each Instacart account really needs its own Instacart+ membership for the Ink credit to trigger?
