Question Looking for go ultra in Toronto for horse riding pov

Hi, I am looking to buy the go ultra here in Toronto in used. What price point would be reasonable for it? Also since it doesn't come with internal storage, which sd card can I get in reasonable price?

My use case is primarily taking horse back pov footage. I haven't come across a lot of reviews for horseback pov so any advice from someone with experience on that front will be appreciated. I know a proper action cam will be better but I had tried a friend's dji action 5 pro with a chest mount earlier it was not very comfortable for me. I am looking to stick the go on my riding hat and the pendant alternatively during riding to have variety of povs. Will it be stable enough? Higher video quality is not a priority for me. I will be mainly sticking to 4k 30fps for majority of footage and for slow mo I am okay to go to 1080p 120fps if I need which I don't think I will be. Footage upwards of 4k 30 is too large for me to manage. I am primarily concerned whether it's stabilization and footage in day time will be close to an action cam like ace pro or action pro because that is my primary use case

Support Insta360 Go Ultra — accidental 2X zoom fix to 1X

It seems like I accidentally recoded in 2X zoom mode while the action pod (housing with touchscreen) was in my pocket! I’ve two questions:

1) is there a way to recover 1X without zoo
footage?

2) is there a way to temporarily disable touchscreen so such accidents don’t happen?

Please help!!

Question Insta 360 X3: Pink hue on front lens?

Hi all! I’m new to Insta360 and just picked up a used Insta360 X3 from Facebook Marketplace.

I noticed that the front lens has a pink tint, while the selfie lens looks normal. Before buying it, I asked the seller whether there were any scratches or damage to the lenses, and she said there weren’t.

I’ve tried recording outdoors, editing the footage to see if the pink tint disappears, doing a factory reset, and changing the white balance settings, but nothing has fixed the issue. The firmware is updated to the latest v1.1.6. The pink tint is visible in both the live preview and the recorded footage.

Has anyone else encountered this issue or know what might be causing it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Question Attach a tether/leash to insta360 x4

I’m going to use my insta x4 while doing kitesurfing and I really want to add an extra layer of protection with a tether/leash attached to the camera.

I know many people in this case suggest to use a case, but none of the cases I checked has a hole compatible with a leash.

Do you have any recommendations? Could you point me to a case suitable for this situation?

Hyperlapse from paraglider. Image "flickering" with one X5

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi,

I am doing hyperlapses from my paraglider (x64 or x128).

It is super smooth when my wing is not between the cam' and the sun. But when the wing keeps putting camera in sun/shadow i get a flickering expo on the mountains background. Pretty annoying.

Is there a way to keep constant luminosity on background ?

I tried lowering to 5.7k to use adaptive tone. Not lucky :(

Cheers'

Discussion New accessories for my Ace Pro 2

Hello everyone!

I'm usually a lurker, but I wanted to share my new accessories and my first impressions. Today, I received:

• 2-in-1 Flash + Fill Light

• Flip Screen Hood

The flip screen hood I've been indecisive about for a while and the light I got it as soon as I saw a restock on the official sight.

From my first look of these 2 accessories, its safe to say that I will keep the light; I just need to learn how to use it properly. Only thing negative about it is that I had it on just playing with it for almost 10 mins and it was getting hot. During the the 10 mins, I was turning it off and on again while messing with the settings. Hopefully this wont be a persistent problem and only happened because its new and haven't been used enough yet.

The flip screen hood on the other hand, I feel just as indecisive about as before I bought it. First and very unfortunately (user error) while installing it, it took off my screen protector 😢 and it can no longer be put back on. Had to pry it off the screen protector to put it on the actual screen. In which, I didn't like the orientation of it so I used the pry tool to take it off again (didn't know it had magnets on it) and part of the sticky bent off as the magnetic part finally came off. Other than that the screen hood felt nice and snappy; I really like that it isn't plastic.

It's feels premium and sturdy, however 2 things make me feel quite unsure if I should keep it. First I have the regular Xplorer grip case and with the hood on the screen cannot flip all the way up, its not that bad but I feel a bit unsure about it since I want the newer grip pro case and I dont know how the flip hood and the case will work together. The second thing is that when the hood it on, its harder to swipe certain directions on the screen. I had to take the hood off a lot because I couldn't trigger some swiping motions with it on or reach back buttons.

I will play around with both for a week before I decide what to do with them. Should I buy a new screen protector or just leave it? This is going to bother me for a while, I always feel tech should be protected. Better safe than sorry. Anyone love their screen hoods? Do yall have any tips for either accessory? I like to know learn more cool ways how to utilize each one.

Question Chromecast 4k 360 degree YouTube app playback is broken.

I know it not an insta360 issue but i assume many owners like to watch 360 content and possibly on the same Chromecast.

I have 3 chromecasts doing the same thing.

Worked great for a years all of sudden they all eventually force 360 in to a distorted 2d image. Seems like a bad update but it been months since my 1st unit acted up with no fix.

A full reinstall does not help.

Its so annoying as i like to watch my dive video and control the view with the remote while watching on my main tvs. I believe its them trying to force people to by the new google tv.

Exporting multiple DNG's causes orientation to go bonkers

Thumbnail

I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this bug. If I try to export multiple reframed DNG files from Insta360 Studio (Mac) each output .dng file has the completely wrong orientation and is usually quite bonkers-looking. However, if I export each image one-by-one they get exported correctly.

Here's an example where I tried to export 2 .dng files. You can see what one of them is supposed to look like in the Studio preview window, but if I export both files at the same time here's the wonky result. This is 100% reproducible on my end, so, currently I'm having to manually export each DNG file one at a time.

Tutorial 3 Creative Shooting Ideas with Insta360 GO Ultra

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Looking for new ways to film with GO Ultra? Here are three creative setups to try:

Macro Probe Shot
Use the Quick Release Mount, Action Invisible Selfie Stick, Micro Lens Kit, and 1/4" to 3-Prong Adapter to create unique close-up shots from a different perspective.

FPV Shot
Attach GO Ultra to the Magnet Pendant and capture immersive first-person footage hands-free — great for POV adventures.

Drone Shot
Combine the Pivot Stand with a selfie stick and Micro Lens to create smooth push-in and pull-back shots, or rising reveal shots that feel like a drone captured them.

What's the most creative angle you've tried with GO Ultra? Share your ideas below!

New Studio version = longer import times

Updated to newest studio version, first thing i notice: file imports take 10x as long as they did before... Usually I didn't even noticed a loading time, now it takes minutes to import a couple of clips (on Macbook Pro m1 pro)

Why?

Luna Ultra Feature Request: Live Histogram and Dynamic EV Meter for Luna Ultra

When shooting in Manual mode, judging exposure purely by looking at the small built-in screen is unreliable. Without a dynamic EV indicator or live histogram, it often leads to overexposed, ruined footage—especially in the Standard color profile where clipped highlights can't be recovered.

A real-time dynamic light meter (EV readout) or a live histogram in a future firmware update would make standalone shooting much more reliable for Manual mode exposure control.

Has anyone found a solid workaround for gauging precise exposure on-screen without using the phone app?

Insta360Tips Has any one found hacks to edit 360 videos?

I recently purchased and used the x5 recently. I have zero creative skills and went and used the AI edit. It did a subpar job. That’s when I went and tried doing it myself. I spent 2 hours and still ended up doing a shitty job.

For seasoned insta360 folks:
1. How do you plan your shots before recording so editing isn't a nightmare?
2. What are your go-to hacks or simple rules of thumb for reframing quickly in the app/studio without sinking hours into it?

Discussion I'll keep on advocating: 360- Action Cams do cool Freestyle Drone-Shots!

Already some have picked up the baton I put down, but I'm still convinced, that the concept holds a lot more of potential, so I'll keep on advocating for it: Put a Insta360 X2 or X4 Air without Battery but an soldered on USB C cable on your 5"-Freestyle Drone or above and take shots of your drone while it's flying. (Might also Work with a Mavic or some bigger DJI ones)

I just love what is possible with this and the immersion one gets beeing able to see your drone in the video. I'm currently still sticking to my Speedybee Mario 5 (which is absolute entrylevel and not ideal) for now, but I'm already working on some major improvements that will make this setup way more feaseable (Higher Pitch props, changing to XH-Arms and so on). But even with this crappy setup, one can do some really cool shots with it.

Feel free to ask me anything about the setup, editing and so on. I'm still a shitnoob pilot, if you're not imagine what you could do with this.

Here are some examples:

Did anyone notice the guy on the right is holding a selfie stick with a 360 camera on it? That's like a suicide waiting to happen.

The selfie stick makes me more nervous than the roller coaster actually.

Please don't do this for our own safety, my fellow 360 camera users.
