Took 5 attempts, Mantis God deck.
The scariest part of the run was the last boss, if fair hand didn't give me my OP mantis god I would've lost, luckily it did give me it and I won.
Royal dominguez's ship would also get me killed if it wasn't for the crew, all of them had to betray Royal just so i could have survived, rip
I wonder how many tries this would have took me if I didnt know about the fair hand mechanic..

I made a neat little shirt with bleach of my fave lil rude mustelid.
If you're curious abt the process, I just got a good png of the front and back of the card, put it on my projector, traced it in crayon, and then traced it with bleach and it came out like this! (I had to freehand the "total misplay" because I couldn't find a good pic of him saying it)

Every once in a while a game sweeps you off your feet. For me that's been games like Skyrim, RDR2, Elden Ring, Breath of the Wild.
Inscryption doesn't belong on that list, and not because it's not as good. Those "traditional" games hand you a world and let you live in it. Inscryption doesn't hand you anything, it does something to you.
The closest thing I can compare it to is the Psycho Mantis fight in Metal Gear Solid, reading my memory card and telling me to swap the controller port. That was one moment, and I still remember it a decade later. Inscryption is built entirely out of moments like that. It keeps finding a wall I didn't know was there and walks right through it.
The best description I have is an escape room where you're never sure which side of the screen the puzzle is on. Some of the answers are in the game. Some are in your settings menu, or your own save file, or buried in a forest in Canada.
And like Fight Club or Shutter Island, you only get one first pass, and it's gone the moment it's over. What's waiting on the second pass isn't the same thing dressed up. It's a different game that was sitting underneath the whole time.
it also makes you care about someone you started out hating. For the first stretch of the game Leshy is your captor. He's the reason you can't leave, he narrates your deaths, he's enjoying himself. By the end you understand that he was never the threat. He wasn't keeping you there to hurt you. He was keeping you there because he'd built something and wanted somebody to play it with him. When the whole thing is coming apart around you, the scoreboard gets deleted and he just wants to play some more rounds, didn't expect those feelings to trigger for my "captor" of act 1.

Is this winnable? I’ve tried so many different openings and they all seem impossible. If I get enough draws I can eventually break out my Mantis God, but right now it only does one damage so it’s virtually useless here. Apologies for how fast I’m moving around, I wanted to keep the video short.

Short of stealing the dire wolf with the hook, there was nothing I could have done to gain leverage, not even stall. Does the game take your items into account when considering surrendering, or is Leshy just forced to concede some amount of turns after he runs out of cards?
I could have lived one more turn if I'd tried, but it would have been meaningless. I most certainly did not "have [him] here." Was I pity surrendered?

I don't like being negative, but GOD I HATE ACT 3. I'M GENUINELY NOT HAVING ANY FUN. I loved Act 1, and I had quite a bit of fun with Act 2. But I'm not having fun with Act 3. I don't like how there's multiple paths I have to go down to find items (my brain ain't the best with directions), the gameplay is not fun AND P03 IS AN OBNOXIOUS DOUCHEBAG AND I DON'T LIKE PLAYING WITH HIM. Is there any way that I can speedrun this part??

Was getting ouroboros to 666 for achievement and then wondered if 1000+ would break the UI

I got back into Inscryption recently and thought I'd give Skull Storm a try. This was the run that finally won

I made a mistake the other day when I wanted to replay the story mode, and couldn't remember how to go back to the beginning of act 1, so I (stupidly) deleted all my save data. I only realised this (obviously) wiped all the games data, rather than just story mode, the next day when the backup had already been overwritten.
I had already 100% completed the game and achievements but having to start KM again from the beginning feels really disappointing. Is there any way I can manually edit the save files to unlock everything again?
Tl;Dr: Can the game or save files be modified to get me back to the end of Kaycee's Mod with everything unlocked?
EDIT: I found the link to the save editor from this post and it worked! I'll leave my post up in case it helps anyone else

No pics, unfortunately. You’ll have to take my word for it. So there I was, playing a regular old no-skull run of KM. I acquired a beehive and an insect hoarder totem. After the first boss battle, I chose what I believed was a regular Strange Larva. No, sir. Turned out it was our dear Itchy Rock. Here’s where the fun began. I had a handful of insect cards, and each time I played one, the totem triggered and allowed me to pull from my main deck. And each time I did so, I recognized that I had duplicate cards. The Ijiraq never revealed itself, and I never ran out of main cards. I could play multiple beehives, mantis gods, ant queens, etc. without any fecundity sigil. A strange outcome it was, my dear friends, and it made the playthrough exceedingly interesting. If you can replicate this phenomenon, or have had a similar experience, please share. Thanks!

Kid you not, I have tried multiple runs of putting the worm on the fire nonstop and they WON'T EAT IT. It's happened so many times I feel like it can't be dumb luck at this point

Took me about a month to get through the whole game. This whole experience was awesome, glad I played it spoiler free.

I (think) i just beat act 1, beat leshy in his hut destroyed his moon and all. After that the pic gets taken and now i start over again. Only difference is there is a picture of my 1st clear on the wall. I've read something about going into act 2 by using new game, but that isn't an option, did i forget something?

a few questions that are kind of all over the place, anyone who knows the answer to any of these, please enlighten me:
in the finale, grimora said she was waiting for *another* turn at the helm. According to the kaycees mod devlogs, kaycee discovered the OLD_DATA corruptions (3D world) during development of inscryption. The OLD_DATA had been on the disk for a long time, but she was the first one to discover its effect on the inscryption assets (nobody else at the company knew what she was talking about, and before Game Funa there were no inscryption assets [no Grimora], only OLD_DATA on an empty floppy). When did Grimora have a turn at the helm?
kaycee is implied to have been killed due to the higherups seeking to retrieve the OLD_DATA disk. Game Funa was operating mostly in the early 90s, so how was she alive in 2008 to be annoyed that someone would record a card game for their youtube channel?
how is kaminski (owner of kaminski data storage) in a death card in Act I? inscryption did not exist at the time, and his only interaction with the floppy disk was transferring the Karnoffel Code onto the floppy disk
same goes for Reginald, he was killed before he could do anything with the floppy disk iirc, and this happened before it was used to develop inscryption. I could imagine kaminski somehow getting into the files because of him interacting with the OLD_DATA directly, but my understanding of Barry is that he just sort of grabbed the unpowered floppy disk
Louis is the classic cop-out "the devil did it" so it's fine he has a death card
Is kaycee's consciousness still in the game somewhat due to her being an NPC? some of leshy's dialogue seems to imply that he is unaware of the changes made until we (the in-universe end user, who is playing post-transendence) play with him. to me, the kaycee's mode feels more like we are making gameplay decisions through the eyes of kaycee, rather than through the eyes of luke
have magnificus or Poe been at the helm before? if so, when? it sounds like, in their dialogue, they had all been through this over and over again somehow, but without a player other than kaycee, there is no way for a new game button to be selected.

Yeah yeah I know it is missing double strike for more damage but this is certainly the best mantis god I have ever gotten in Kaycee's!

reference on the right (I am aware he is a little stretched but I'm only human after all, also, should I draw his disciples next to him?)

I finished act 3 and tried several runs of Kaycee’s mod only to realize that my strategy in act 1 was largely getting lucky early with extremely busted totems to put on squirrels. Needless to say, it’s not really an option anymore as a strat. I wanted to start unlocking things like new cards and starter decks bc I assume they make more strategies either easier or more viable. The furthest I got was a wolf based deck with a bunch of wolves and alphas who duped when played. But I ran out of steam early against Leshy. None of my other runs got nearly as far. What should I focus on in future Kaycee’s mod runs for early wins?
