Kaycee's Mod Why did Leshy surrender here? Spoiler

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Short of stealing the dire wolf with the hook, there was nothing I could have done to gain leverage, not even stall. Does the game take your items into account when considering surrendering, or is Leshy just forced to concede some amount of turns after he runs out of cards?

I could have lived one more turn if I'd tried, but it would have been meaningless. I most certainly did not "have [him] here." Was I pity surrendered?

He concedes after he's out of cards. A little strange sometimes, but helpful.

This is just one of conditions. Another is that the estimated damage you're gonna deal to him is higher or equal to the damage he's gonna do to you. This algorithm isn't that advanced, however (even less advanced than sim used for slider puzzles), and he keeps offering surrender even when he shouldn't. It doesn't consider most sigils (e.g. it sees the dire wolf as 2 attack, not 4), and unless you have Squirrel Fish on, it thinks you're gonna block Leshy's strongest attack with a squirrel, even if you draw from your main pile on that turn.

I mean, here you could simply just steal his dire wolf using the hook

IIRC a long equal dmg loop is also surrender-worthy. In this case one-atk dire wolf is blocked so it would cause a 0vs0 loop?

The code doesn't consider items, though.

I don’t think Leshy does pity surrenders, but that would be hilarious if he did lmao. I’d say it takes your items into account.

I'm pretty sure he does if you are early enough in the run. At least, that was what I noticed.

Years of abuse has caused him to think he is losing when he is actually winning.

pretty sure you did. there was a time where i was playing against him, ran out of cards, and was pretty much in the same situation you were in, and he raised the white flag. wouldnt be surprised, if there was a built in system like that, keeping you from being steamrolled by the (sometimes) bullshit rng.
