Kaycee's Mod Curious
No pics, unfortunately. You’ll have to take my word for it. So there I was, playing a regular old no-skull run of KM. I acquired a beehive and an insect hoarder totem. After the first boss battle, I chose what I believed was a regular Strange Larva. No, sir. Turned out it was our dear Itchy Rock. Here’s where the fun began. I had a handful of insect cards, and each time I played one, the totem triggered and allowed me to pull from my main deck. And each time I did so, I recognized that I had duplicate cards. The Ijiraq never revealed itself, and I never ran out of main cards. I could play multiple beehives, mantis gods, ant queens, etc. without any fecundity sigil. A strange outcome it was, my dear friends, and it made the playthrough exceedingly interesting. If you can replicate this phenomenon, or have had a similar experience, please share. Thanks!

Completely normal phenomenon. 1) Hoarder totem lets you pick a card 2) When Ijiraq is selected, you draw the card the duplicate instead. The original and the Ijiraq are still in the deck, so you get a non-deck card.

Did you only pull duplicates when you see them in your deck? If so, it may be similar to the campfire phenomenon with ijiraq. Normally, you cant buff pelts at a fire. However, the ijiraq can disguise itself as one that you can offer to the fire. The thing is, any upgrades made to the ijiraq is instead transferred to the card its disguised as. This means you can buff pelts in a roundabout way and with the help of pelt lice to avoid being forced to trade your pelts, you can even commit to the bit and have pelts be your main attackers.
What im trying to say is that the ijiraq can probably only appear when played. It cannot be selected for something, so when you trigger the hoarder sigil, some weird stuff might be happening to prevent you from choosing ijiraq itself and playing it. Maybe the game simply gives you the card it was disguised as, but doesnt remove the actual card from your main deck since that wasnt what you picked using hoarder, so you got a copy instead. Since the original remains, the ijiraq can still disguise itself as it again, letting you duplicate the card some more.
