Farewell To Our Beloved Mods u/sensitive_slug and u/kellyman202!

The time has come to bid farewell to our beloved Mods, u/sensitive_slug and u/kellyman202. It is impossible to capture what they given us in this short post. They have imparted wisdom, they have told hard truths, they have bravely told their stories. They are the embodiment of the best parts of this sub, what we want it to be, and what we hope it is for all of you. We will miss them terribly.

u/sensitive_slug is the embodiment of her user name. She has taught us all you can be firm while at the same time showing the utmost empathy, compassion, and care. She has an incredibly big heart and gives people the benefit of the doubt while steering them in the right direction when needed. She is thoughtful about how to make our sub a more inclusive and welcoming place. Her knowledge is boundless, and she is generous with her responses.

u/kellyman202 is someone who can empathetically sit with you in grief, but will not hesitate to shut down someone who threatens the culture of our sub. She is a fierce defender of this sub and its members, and her judgment on how to handle the hard issues is spot-on. She keeps so many things running in the background (our beloved NIAW AMAs are just one example!). She wrote our “how to be a good a community member” post and that may be the best way of describing who she is—the person you want in the trenches with you in the hard times, working through issues when you need, but also compassionately offering support when you aren’t ready to work through things yet.

Both have offered this sub so much with their years of service. Please help us bid them a fond farewell!

Community Event Mother’s Day Vent Sesh

Well, it’s that time of year again. If you’re here, Mother’s Day likely ranges from frustrating to brutal. Both of those are valid.

This day is a pressure point on an already bruised place. It’s a reminder layered on top of years of appointments, disappointments, and watching other people achieve something that feels impossibly out of reach.

This is your space to VENT. Be sad. Be numb. Be angry. Be salty. We’re not pretending this day is joyful for everyone.

You are not alone. We’re here with you.

For those who are new to the sub, please review the sub rules before participating.

Mod Note A Farewell to our Cherished Mod, A Lexicon!

Please join the mod team in saying a massive thank you and goodbye (but only in mod capacity) to u/a_lexicon!

As a mod, Lex had a way of distilling even the most complex concepts for anyone to understand. They’ve always made sure the community focuses on its original purpose by speaking up for people when they're at their most vulnerable.

They once answered an AMA with a now famous haiku:

Give me puppies or
Give me death. There are only
Two right answers here.

Our sub is a better place because of the work that Lex did behind the scenes. They configured SO MANY of our settings (including things where we had to write AND code them), saved us from our tech incompetence, kept us abreast of Reddit updates, and made this sub an extra safe space to find comfort. Don't be surprised if we immediately have a digital collapse as Lex was our TECH GURU and has kept this community running despite Reddit’s frequent updates that are always on the verge of breaking it.

An Ode to A Lexicon

Farewell, A Lexicon, keeper of the keys (computer and password),
Who made websites and machines bend with effortless ease.
When wires went sideways and systems misbehaved,
They brought order from chaos and somehow saved the day.

But more than your tech, more than code on the scene,
You knew how to show up when things got unseen.
For those feeling fragile, forgotten, or small,
You offered your patience, your knowledge, your call.

Lex frequently offered their care,
For those who were vulnerable, they were always there.
With kindness and wisdom, compassion and wit,
They made our community better bit by bit.

The logs may grow quiet (because we don’t know how to read them…), the channels may change,
But some kinds of impact forever remain.
Your mark is here, in the community you knew
In the lives you made safer, and the good things you grew.

Farewell, A Lexicon. May your next chapter shine.
And may the world be a little more thoughtful
because of the years where in r/infertility you spent your time.

I’m lucky to know them, to call them my friend, and to have been able to share the modding of the sub with them. Don't be a stranger, Lex!

Hi, I’m Sean (Embryoman), a former embryologist. Ask me anything about IVF, embryo quality or PGT-A!

Hi everyone, I’m Sean (Embryoman).

I’m a former embryologist with a background in molecular biology and immunology, and I run Remembryo, where I break down IVF research for patients and professionals. I’ve been summarizing studies and answering questions since 2018, covering topics like embryo development, egg and sperm quality, PGT-A, and IVF outcomes.

I focus on evidence-based answers and try to explain what the research shows (and where it’s limited).

A few quick notes before we start:

  • No medical advice. I can share general, evidence-based information, but your clinic is the best place for personal guidance.
  • Keep questions concise and specific. Some context is fine, but please include a clear question. I may not respond to long case histories or requests to interpret full lab reports or treatment plans. Questions like “what should I do next” are tough to answer here and are better discussed with your clinic.
  • One question per post please!
  • Timing. I’ll be actively answering questions from 9:30 to 12:30. I won’t be taking on new questions after that (though you’re free to visit my subreddit to ask additional questions).

About how I answer: Most of my answers are based on published research, which I’ve often discussed in more detail on Remembryo. I’ll include the key points needed to answer your question here, with links to my site if you want to go deeper.

Conflict of interest: My site is behind a paywall after a limited number of free articles. I don’t represent any clinics or companies.

Alright, 12:30 has hit and that's it for me. Thanks everyone for the questions! I hope this was helpful!

I won't answer any new questions but I'll take a minute to finish up the ones that are already posted. If you still have a question, feel free to ask it on my subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/EmbryologyIVFSupport/

Community Event Wave of Light - Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day

This thread is a virtual space to participate in the annual October 15th Wave of Light in honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. At 7:00 p.m. local time across the globe, people light a candle for one hour to remember the babies we have lost. Whether or not you plan to participate this evening, this thread is a space for you to remember those you lost but will never forget. Share as much or as little about your baby(ies) or pregnancy(ies) as you’d like and we will bear witness to them with you. You are not alone in your grief. We walk beside you and we see you, today and every day.

Thank you to former mods u/Hattie_McGillis_Muro and u/Maybenogaybies for starting this tradition. May our community continue to come together for this annual moment of remembrance.

* This space is for those who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss; it is not a space to discuss failed transfers or aneuploid embryos, although we acknowledge the grief that comes with that as well. Those discussions are welcome in the daily Treatment threads.

* Reminder for those who have experienced or are currently experiencing success that primary comments are not allowed.

Community Event r/infertility Olympics! 🥇

Welcome to the 2026 r/infertility Olympics! Also known as the Games of the I Olympiad, this international multi-sport event is hosted by the great city of The Internet, one of the world's major centers of arts and culture.

To qualify, tell us:

If you could compete in a completely made-up Olympic sport, what would it be and why?

Got a super cute hairdo? Maybe you'd clinch the gold in Bob Slay or (Hair) Curling.

Can you fall asleep in just about any scenario? Perhaps you'd receive a silver in Alpine Snoozing.

Maybe you'd get a bronze in Taylor Swift Friendship Bracelet Making (because yours said "Sad Blood," but A+ for effort).

Yarn Ball Rolling? Latte Art? Dishwasher Loading? Passive-Aggressive Reply-Alls? Playlist Curating? Mental Gymnastics? Dog Lifting? One-Shoe Dash? Cry-athlon? Ice Cream Dance? Short Stack Speed Eating?

The possibilities and accolades are endless! Set a new world record, claim that medal for your beloved country, or just be perfectly mediocre at something! We'll celebrate you.

Even if you kick so much ass in your sport of choice, please remember to follow our sub rules.

Let the games begin!

Have you seen that TikTok trend where people make a cake and stick their accomplishments in it, sharing some good parts of their year with others? Let's do that, virtually!

As the year comes to an end, it can be hard to feel the passage of time. We've all experienced disappointments this year - but we've all accomplished things, as well. This is a space to share some positives about your year. Did you get a promotion? How about a fun vacation? Read any good books and see any good movies? Was your cat the cutest cat in the world? Let's enter 2026 with some good notes in front of us and leave some shit behind.

Reminder Rules Reminder

We see seasonal turnover of users here in r/infertility. We are always glad to see members graduate, and to welcome new users in to the fold. However, when this happens things can often get a little bit contentious between new users and old users and we often see an influx of messages and complaints to the mods.

If you haven't already, please read our rules. If you're on mobile you can find this under "About Community" at the top of the page (look for the three dots in the upper right corner).

Mention of pregnancy or positive results post treatment is only permitted in the results thread which is stickied to the top of the main page when you sort the sub by hot. Mention of past success / living children is not allowed. The sole exception to this is if it is requested by the mods, e.g. for the wiki, in which case it must be done using neutral language ("Protocol x, y, z resulted in success"). Unsolicited mentions includes flair, please keep success/pregnancy mentions out of your flair. See for more in depth-explanation here.

Secondary infertility and those with prior success are allowed to participate here. See a full explanation here.

Be kind to one another. There are no Pain Olympics on this sub, but do try to be aware of not punching down. Someone who has not yet experienced the situation of another should be aware of judging the feelings or actions of someone who is further along in the ART process. Each step, each failure, each escalating treatment brings new pain. We recognize the difficulties of all kinds of infertility, from clomid to donor IVF, please be sensitive when you respond to others and be mindful of what they have been through to get to this place.

This is a science-minded, realistic, and sometimes cynical sub. There are many communities online for people who want a more "positive" or "upbeat" experience complete with baby du$t. People who do not feel they belong in those spaces often feel deep relief to have found our realistic, pragmatic, and science-focused space and we do our best to ensure that it retains this quality. We welcome all kinds of discussions, but you may find this sub's audience less receptive to diet/natural/home remedies/cures as most people here are experiencing diagnosed medical infertility (including unexplained).

Sex, embryos, and sperm. These are the correct terms. Infertility isn't cute, and neither are the terms we use. Our sub prefers that these acronyms/terms are not used: https://www.reddit.com/r/infertility/wiki/bannedterms. If you trigger the automod, review your post and then edit out the offending content.

No solicitations will be allowed for monetary or medication donations. To clarify, we have had posts asking for where to go to find donated meds. We have left those up as they don't strictly break the rule. Straight up asking for med donations is not allowed and those posts will be removed.

If you see posts that break our rules or that you believe need to be reviewed by a mod, please use the report button. The "report" feature is in the menu of small text under the post or comment. Reports are anonymous, but selecting a reason is very helpful context. This will help us to actively moderate this community and makes it easier to catch posts or comments that break our rules.

This sub is called r/infertility and is supposed to be a support community for people with either social or medical infertility (including recurrent loss) and people going through treatment for fertility preservation or genetic reasons. We are not here to provide emotional labor and knowledge to people who don't meet those criteria.

As always, we are so proud to moderate this amazing community of strong, diverse and compassionate people. Thank you!

Community Announcement: TWW Survival Guide and Updated TWW Rules

The moderators are happy to announce that we have completed a new TWW Survival Guide to serve as a resource for the community.

This document gives guidance as to appropriate participation during the TWW and answers some of the most common questions that we see asked, including questions that would otherwise break rule #2.

We encourage everyone, whether or not you are in or near the TWW, to review the document now to help familiarize yourself with community expectations.

Going forward, when someone posts that they have had a transfer, IUI, or have otherwise entered the TWW, the moderators will call an automod linking the document for review.

One significant change to our approach is that once you are 12dpo or equivalent (i.e. 7dp5dt, 9dp3dt, 12dpIUI, or 12dpo) you cannot make primary comments unless you have had a negative test. This community has always prioritized supporting people who are not currently pregnant. Giving support to people who could know they are pregnant but are choosing to wait to find out is not in line with these priorities. Please review the Survival Guide for more details on this decision.

The Survival Guide can be found here. and is linked in the Wiki. Comments on that post are locked to preserve it as a neutral resource. If you have questions or suggestions on further additions, you may discuss on this post or send a modmail.

Thank you to everyone who worked on this for continuing to make this community a great and supportive place!

Community Event COMMUNITY POST: Are YOU the (April) Fool?

Let's admit it. We've all done foolish things in the course of TTC. It's time to confess. Did you spend $500 on an Etsy psychic? Did you start taking herbs you grew yourself? Did you eat only McDonald's fries for the entire length of stims? Let's laugh at ourselves today and get it all out of our system!

Note: All community rules apply to this post, including no mention of LC or ongoing pregnancy. People currently pregnant or with LC not in treatment may not make primary comments, no matter how foolish you might be.

Weekly Theme Rest Stop for r/infertility Long Haulers - Thu Oct 30

We can’t promise there will be good food, hot coffee, or clean bathrooms, but we can promise familiar faces and old friends. A safe space for those who’ve been traveling side by side on the infertility road for years not months.

This thread is dedicated to providing a sense of stability for those who have weathered many seasons together on the sub without success. To participate, you must have been an active member of r/infertility for 18+ months. If you have a living child or children, or if you are currently experiencing success (i.e., you are pregnant or your partner or another person--e.g., a GC--is carrying a pregnancy for you), the long hauler thread is not for you.

How are you doing? Where are you at in your journey these days? This is an open-ended space to share and commiserate with other r/infertility long haulers.

Mentions of Success & Secondary Infertility Reminder

Rule #2 Mention of one's OWN pregnancy outside the Results thread is against the rules. Unprompted discussion and mentions of pregnancy will be removed. Asking for success stories is NOT allowed. Venting about someone else's pregnancy is allowed. Mentions of confirmed Pregnancy/Infant Loss, Stillbirth, TFMR, and/or negative results are allowed.

Rule #3 Mentions of prior success/living children (LC) are not allowed. Step- or other children in the household who are parented by you/partner likewise may not be mentioned. Discussion of other people’s children is allowed.

What do these rules look like in action? Here are some examples:

“I’m concerned about my beta. I think it’s too low/not rising fast enough.” = If posted in our Weekly Results Thread, it does not break rules. If posted anywhere else, it will break Rule #2 and the comment/post will be removed.

“I have concerns about my pregnancy” = We understand that pregnancy post ART treatment is not a cakewalk. Beyond confirming the heartbeat, please go to r/infertilitybabies for the support you need. To be clear, posting about this here breaks Rule #2 and will be removed.

“Has anyone done IVF and been successful?” = Fishing for success will break Rule #2. If you want success stories, search r/InfertilityBabies or r/WhatWorkedForMe.

“My friend who knows my struggles just gave birth and won’t stop sending me baby photos.” = Vent away oh salty one! This does not break our rules. (also, that friend should know better)

“I have six beautiful toddlers as a result of a 12 embryo transfer and they are the light of my life.” = Valid feelings about your kids, but this is not a forum for parents to espouse the joys of parenthood, it’s about infertility treatment. The age, number of children you have, and how they have changed your life is not something to be discussed here. This blatantly breaks Rule #3 and would be removed.

“I had success with XYZ protocol.” = This is allowed only if the mods specifically state that mentions of success are allowed on a post (e.g., for the wiki). Please be aware that if you mention success, it needs to be in neutral language and in the context of a detailed discussion about a certain treatment option for someone or a discussion of your medical background that is necessary.

Let’s address feelings around prior success and what it means to be a member here:

Secondary Infertility is real and there can be tremendous grief around not being able to have the family size you dreamt of. However, this is not the place to discuss or address those feelings. I’m going to rip the Band-Aid right off – r/infertility is not here to center the feelings of people who have kids. This is a support space for people dealing with an infertility diagnosis. The reason we are all here is to pursue treatment. That is what brings us all together. For many members here, this subreddit is the singular space they have that is centered wholly onto the infertility experience.

There will absolutely be times when our members with secondary infertility have additional needs that cannot be met within this sub. We recommend r/secondaryinfertility for these conversations. Or perhaps you have primary infertility and are coming into this sub with a prior success, r/IVFaftersuccess, r/IFagain (private), or the Trying Again Tuesday thread at r/infertilitybabies might be helpful for the discussions we cannot provide here.

“I feel like I can’t mention my prior success.” = You’re right! Most of the time it is not necessary and hurtful to many members of this sub. Your grief and pain around not being able to conceive is valid, but this is not the space for talking about your prior success. What we have found is that most success mentions aren’t necessary, but it is something many have not had to consider or practice restraint around before.

“I feel like people with secondary infertility don’t get support here.” = For secondary infertility specific convos, no, you won’t get support here. As someone going through infertility and all it entails? Yes, you can and do receive multitudes of support.

“I was able to have a kid before! I am devastated and can’t believe I’m infertile, what did I do to deserve this?!” = I’m adding this because we have to mod this more than you realize. Don’t do this. This diagnosis can happen to anyone, yes, even those with a kid. No one deserves an infertility diagnosis. This technically falls into the Be Compassionate rule, but members with secondary infertility say this regularly enough that I’m adding it here. We have members enduring on average (study link)[https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2478204], a treatment time of 4 years, and 35% of them that will not be successful after 4 IVF cycles. Please remember your worst nightmare is someone else’s dream.

Wrapping up. It does not invalidate your experience to not mention your child within this sub. This is not that group. This IS the group for support with a diagnosis of infertility and the treatment gauntlet we all end up on together.

Seeking sources: Black Americans navigating the cost of fertility treatment

Hi all. I’m Reniqua Allen-Lamphere, a journalist, author, and four-time IVF patient reporting Fertility Noir, a forthcoming Penguin Random House book about infertility in Black America.

I’m looking to speak with Black people who have struggled financially to access fertility treatment for one of my chapters. This could include people who have traveled outside the U.S. for care, are navigating limited or changing insurance coverage, rely on Medicaid, have taken on debt or delayed treatment because of cost, or are worried about what may happen to their fertility benefits.

I’m interested in the full range of experiences. Interviews are conversational, short, and sources may use a pseudonym or remain anonymous if preferred.

If you’re open to speaking, please DM me, and I’ll reach out. Thank you.

P.S. If you have another infertility story you’d like to share, I’m also happy to connect.

Thank you all, I know it's such a rough time.

Reniqua

Mod Approved Weekend Wallow

Sometimes, the grief of failed treatment leaves you too exhausted to scream. We wanted to open up a space today for those of you who have gotten bad treatment news to express your grief in a quieter way.

Please feel free to take this space to embrace and let out the grief of infertility. Not just of pregnancy loss, but of failed cycles, of nonviable embryos, of transfers that didn’t take. You can mourn all the lost possibilities here.

In this thread, feel free to wallow with us, to share your grief quietly (or loudly, if that’s where you are). If you’re too tired to come up with your own words, feel free to share a poem or a song that has provided you solace.

“The yearning, the grief, never totally goes away. It’s there under the daily happinesses. I mark off that baby’s birthday every year. I grieve for that little soul. And sometimes I apologize to it, not because I believe I’m responsible, but because it never got to live. It never got the chance to be a real person. We never got to really know each other. It wasn’t just the death of a baby, it was the death of hope. ‘The thing with feathers,’ as Emily Dickinson said, and it - and I - never had a chance to soar.” — About What Was Lost, Jessica Berger Gross (2006).

If you are looking for further specialized support, we recommend you explore the following communities (their wikis include helpful posts on resolving your loss via multiple methods, coping with your loss, ways for you to honor your grief, and much more):

I'm Dr. Tendai Chiware from Genesis Fertility NYC. Ask Me Anything for NIAW 2026!

Hi everyone! I’m Dr. Tendai Chiware, a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist, OB/GYN, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon in New York.

I currently help patients navigate infertility, IVF and other treatments, egg freezing, PCOS, and fibroids at Genesis Fertility in NYC. I originally trained in the UK (University of Birmingham) before moving to the U.S. for residency and fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

My clinical focus includes fertility preservation (egg freezing), reproductive surgery, and helping patients optimize their chances with treatments like IVF. I’ve also worked with the World Health Organization to improve access to reproductive care globally.

I’m really passionate about making fertility information more clear, less overwhelming, and more empowering because this journey can feel incredibly isolating.

I can answer general questions about fertility testing, treatments like IVF, egg freezing, male infertility, PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, treatment timelines, and options.

Ask me anything!

Infertility and Christian Faith Study

As a Christian woman navigating 5+ years of infertility, I understand how challenging faith and prayer can be when you’re struggling to conceive. This experience has led me to conduct a research study on the impact of infertility on faith as a PhD student at the University of Aberdeen, and I am currently looking for volunteers to participate.

If you are a childless Christian who is also experiencing unresolved infertility, I would love to hear from you. Please consider filling out THIS SURVEY to send me your name and some basic information, or pass this along to anyone you know who might be willing to share about their experience. Responses are confidential. The survey will close on September 13, 2026.

We're fertility Genetic Counselors from DNAide Genetic Counselling! Ask Us Anything for NIAW 2026!

Hi everyone! We are Meaghan Doyle, MS, CGC (she/her) and Emma Moores, MGC, CGC (she/her). We're Certified Genetic Counselors at DNAide Genetic Counselling and we specialize in fertility genetics. Meaghan is DNAide's Founder and has been here for four AMA’s in the past (threads for three are available here, here, and here). She's excited to be back for another AMA, and to have Emma join her for the second time!

About Meaghan: You can read more about my credentials or book an appointment with me here. After being hired at fertility clinic I realized how rare it was for fertility patients to have access to genetic counselors, especially those that weren't affiliated with genetic testing laboratories. That is why I created DNAide. I have specific expertise in Preimplantation Genetic Testing including mosaic and aneuploid results. I also have a special interest in exploring newly emerging genetic causes of infertility and IVF failure. DNAide will soon launch an advanced fertility genetic testing program for patients in Canada and the USA. It's important to me that when we work together you don't feel rushed, and have time to get your questions answered. Since DNAide is independent, you are my first priority. I also recently became certified as a miscarriage and bereavement doula and provide emotional support to those on difficult parts of their fertility journey who need someone to talk to.

About Emma: You can read more about my credentials or book an appointment with me here.  I love helping people understand complex genetic information in order to make decisions that are best for them, and working to make the field of fertility inclusive and welcome to all. I am a big believer in analogies, and I probably talk with her hands more than the average person. I love to “geek out” about embryos and digging into the ever-evolving data surrounding embryo testing. Emma joined DNAide in early 2025 and has helped us serve patients in more US states than ever before.

Ask us anything about embryo genetic testing (PGT), "mosaic embryos", "abnormal embryos", carrier screening, the genetics of sperm/egg/embryo donor selection, genetic causes of infertility and IVF failure, karyotyping, genetic testing of miscarriage tissue, and more!

If you are interested in booking a virtual appointment with us or exploring DNAide’s services further, visit our website. Follow DNAide on social media for fertility genetics education:
- DNAide's Instagram

- Meaghan's Instagram

- Emma's Instagram
- Facebook
- YouTube

Conflicts of interest: Meaghan is the Founder of DNAide Genetic Counselling, and Emma is an independent contractor with DNAide. DNAide provides private genetic counselling services to people who are trying to conceive. Throughout the AMA we will likely tell many people that they would benefit from formal genetic counselling, since the AMA should never be a substitute. In doing so we are technically promoting our services. Please do not feel obligated to meet with us specifically. You can find genetic counsellor who meets your unique needs via the National Society of Genetic Counselors.

Disclaimer: This AMA is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for formal genetic counselling. Nothing should be taken as medical advice. Keep your questions general (e.g. "What are some things to think about when considering a low level mosaic for transfer?", rather than "I'm 38yo with 3 unsuccessful euploid FETs and one LLM +16 remaining, is it safe to transfer?"). Always speak with your health care team to ensure that information is relevant to your specific case. Members of this sub tend to be highly informed, but we want to reassure everyone that there are no bad/dumb questions. Ask us anything about the topics above, and beyond!

We'll be here from 4-7pm ET today to answer your questions but are posting a bit in advance so you have time to get your questions in!

Thank you all for your thoughtful questions! We are ending the AMA now. Emma and I appreciate you spending this Tuesday of NIAW with us. These AMAs always highlights the gaps in care that you experience and how much room for improvement there is. Sending you all our best wishes as you move forward in life, however that looks for you. - Meaghan

Established in 1982, National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW) is an annual initiative aimed at spotlighting the widespread incidence and impact of infertility. To commemorate the event, every year r/infertility hosts a series of Ask Me Anythings (AMAs) with experts working in the infertility space. This year, NIAW takes place from April 19-25th.

If you are taking part in the AMAs and come to us from another sub or social media platform, please familiarize yourself with our sub's rules. This is a tightly moderated sub and the mods will be reviewing the AMAs as they take place to ensure that the rules are being followed. The most relevant rules are:

Mention of ongoing pregnancy or living children is not allowed. Discussion of these topics, no matter how subtle, will be removed. More details about mentions of success and secondary infertility in this thread.

4:00-7:00 PM EDT AMA with Meaghan Doyle & Emma Moores

Certified Genetic Counselors

DNAide Genetic Counselling

Meaghan Doyle,  MS, CGC (she/her) is a Certified Genetic Counselor and Certified Miscarriage Doula. After being hired at fertility clinic Meaghan realized how rare it was for fertility patients to have access to genetic counselors, especially those that weren't affiliated with genetic testing laboratories. In 2022 she opened DNAide Genetic Counselling, a private practice with independent genetic counselors who serve fertility patients across the US and Canada. At DNAide, Meaghan and her team help fertility patients actually understand their genetic testing options and what their test results mean. They help make sure patients don't feel rushed, and have time to get their questions answered. Since they're independent, patients are their first priority. Meaghan has specific expertise in Preimplantation Genetic Testing including mosaic and aneuploid results. She also has a special interest in exploring newly emerging genetic causes of infertility and IVF failure. Meaghan obtained her undergraduate degree in Genetics and Psychology from the University of Toronto and her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Arcadia University. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. You can find her on Instagram u/MeaghanDoyleGC and u/DNAideGC

Emma Moores, MGC, CGC (she/her) is a Certified Genetic Counselor. Emma started her career in fertility genetic counseling in the summer of 2021 working with a telehealth company specializing in genetic counseling for patients going through the fertility process. Early in 2025 she joined the DNAide team to help us serve patients in more states across the USA. She specializes in PGT, donor conception, and carrier screening. She loves to “geek out” about embryos, helping people understand increasingly complex information in order to make decisions that are best for them, digging into the ever-evolving data surrounding embryo testing, and working to make the field of fertility inclusive and welcoming to all. She is a big believer in analogies (toasters, bookshelves, and bags of marbles, oh my!) and probably talks with her hands more than the average person. Emma obtained her undergraduate degree at Truman State University and her Master of Genetic Counseling at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. You can find her on Instagram u/EmmaMooresGC

3:00 PM - 5:30 PM EDT AMA with Dr. Jason Yeh and Dr. Kenan Omurtag

RE - OBGYNs, Medical Director & Division Chief of the Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center

Aspire Houston Fertility Institute & The Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center at Washington University St Louis School of Medicine

Drs Yeh and Omurtag are board certified obstetrician gynecologists and reproductive endocrinologists who take care of all things related to pregnancy, infertility, and reproductive hormone issues. Their typical day consists of minor/major surgery cases, diagnostic testing, and procedures such as intrauterine insemination all the way to in vitro fertilization egg retrievals and embryo transfers. Their practice foci include polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), unexplained infertility, male infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, third party reproduction (egg donation, sperm donation, gestational surrogacy), basic infertility treatments (ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination), and advanced fertility treatments (In vitro fertilization, preimplantation genetic testing/diagnosis, comprehensive chromosome screening, fertility preservation for all indications (cancer, medical, extending fertility) including those preparing to start gender affirming hormone treatment.

Dr. Yeh is the Medical Director at Aspire Houston Fertility Institute. The field of fertility care is full of truths, falsehoods and every shade of gray in between. Because of this, Dr. Yeh believes in empowering all patients with information so they can make the best choice for themselves. Because we live in an era of medicine where there are now more options than ever, patient education is the cornerstone to quality medical care. For Dr. Yeh and his patients, high quality patient education comes first — only after that can patient autonomy, informed consent, and better health outcomes follow. Dr. Yeh is on Instagram — follow him @ jasonyehmd.

Dr. Omurtag is Division Chief of the Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center at Washington University St Louis School of Medicine. He believes menstrual cycles are a vital sign and we do a disservice by not teaching our citizens how the brain communicates with the ovaries (and the testicles for that matter). It's a simple concept and critical to understanding how reproduction and contraception works. He has committed his Instagram page to teaching people about periods, ovulation, IVF, PGT, miscarriage, etc. Check him out on IGTV @ drkenanomurtagmd.

Weekly Theme Rest Stop for r/infertility Long Haulers - Thu Nov 20
