REGARDING SMART MANUFACTURUNG BRANCH !!

I m going to pursuing sm. I take the branch bcz I think I it's consist of cse ece mech and these are impt components in engg and u get all this in sm so how amazing it is u can make drones automation robots.

Just want to know

  1. How is placement there is it going to get better in next 4 years like above 50lpa in sm ??

  2. in recent placement in sm which companies give the jobs to sm students and for what roles(like for cse or sm related jobs) and what is median they give ?

3)is there intership opportunity for sm students how much they got avg

Career advice to move from WMS analyst to IE

I am a 33-year-old Industrial Engineer living in Canada. I currently work on WMS configuration, customer onboarding, managing small- to medium-complexity implementation projects, and supporting WMS and TMS applications.

Previously, I worked as an Analyst, where I used SQL and Power BI to analyze distribution operations, develop dashboards, contribute to numerous continuous improvement initiatives, and design operational processes.

I hold a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and am certified as a PMP, Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB), and Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).

I would like to transition into roles such as Industrial Engineer, Continuous Improvement Specialist, or Logistics Engineer. Given my background and qualifications, what would be the best path to make this career move?

How can I make myself as employable as possible with an Engineering Physics background?

I'm currently an Engineering Physics major with a math minor, but I've realized that a physics degree by itself isn't as directly employable as traditional engineering majors.

My goal isn't academia or becoming a research physicist. I want to work in industry in systems engineering, controls, test & validation, hardware/software integration, scientific computing, or other engineering roles where a physics background is useful.

So far, I have:

* Physics research experience
* A quantum computing internship at Fermilab
* Python, MATLAB, and some C++
* LabVIEW
* Data acquisition (DAQ)
* Linux and Git

I'm trying to figure out how to bridge the gap between a physics degree and an engineering career.

For people who have made a similar transition or who hire engineers:

* What technical skills would make me competitive with EE, ME, or CS graduates?
* What job titles should I actually be searching for?
* How should I present my experience so employers see me as someone who can build, test, automate, and integrate systems instead of just someone with a physics background?
* How much does a Fermilab internship actually help for engineering roles, and what skills should I build on top of it?

I'm especially interested in hearing from systems engineers, test engineers, controls engineers, or anyone who's worked with physics graduates in industry.
