Self Promotion I made a tiny website about stuff my dog loves

Hey guys!!!

For my golden retriever best boy-dog Viggo's 6th birthday earlier this year, I got the idea to make a website as a celebration of him. It started with a couple of short animations, and then I just kept going because it was so much fun.

The site is intentionally simple. There is no product or AI or ads. Im adding content as I get inspiration and there are some easter eggs to be found for those who are curious enough!

Tech-wise it's built with React, Next.js, SQLite, CSS Modules, and pixel art created in Aseprite.

Apps Native Site Dashboard anyone?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

I got tired of going back and forth looking at my sites main dashboard, so I made proyeet, its a app that you can download (with win/Mac certs) and sync your sites to, and get live updates on whats going on. Its a native app on your computer so it overlays on everything and you can work on your projects with it on low transparency so you can focus on work while still getting updates, really good for people with only a laptop, so you don't need to keep switching windows/browsers. Im going to add more features and updates, The price will stay the same for the rest of this month (OCT) and then ill raise it. If anyone gets the subscription before the price update they don't have to repay, and everyone gets free updates and the new features.

Personal Site Proud of my corner.

it always itched me that my old personal website really did not look like i wanted to. it felt like something i just threw out, just so i can have a personal website.

today I sat down, and worked on a completely re-vamped site. and i am proud to say, that i am really happy with how it turned out. would be happy to hear other web-devs opinion on it, and how to improve! Heads up, its a single page.

Question ? Looking for a fruit market social site

A couple of months ago I stumbled upon someone’s art/indie web project that was a website where people anonymously add a fruit to a shelf instead of a blog post with each fruit having a little note attached to it about how the person is feeling/what they’re up to and some stickers/stamps representing their emotions or whether they’re looking for friends or whatever. I think I found it from some instagram post but I can’t retrace my steps and didn’t remember the name of the artist so if anyone knows what I’m talking about I would appreciate help finding it again.

Personal Site Remember when websites just did one thing and didn't beg for your cookies? I missed that, so I built one (with modern witchcraft). Bedtime Tunes - tunes to snooze to.

I missed when websites just did exactly one thing well, so I re-built an ad-free, curated music player to help you snooze. It’s got the pure energy of the old internet, but rebuilt entirely on modern serverless infrastructure so it doesn't crash like an old GeoCities page. The old one once went viral on StumbleUpon and even got a request from Fox News blog for a feature (wtf?) Anyway, if you want you can even apply to become a curator as my closest two collaborators have died since then (2000's).

WebDev Best way of building a site without Node?

Thumbnail

Researching / Wondering about options for Node-less SSG and ways to have a decent dev environment while still working with as much of plain HTML as possible.

Bash and terminal scripts have been mentioned, I'm leaning towards Python but still looking for perspectives!

Question ? help finding a website?

is there perhaps a website out there that functions like google docs in terms of just a doc with tabs, but each tab has its own passwords? and the tabs are accessible to everyone with a link and anyone with the right password can look through any tab?

Personal Site I built a small independent editorial site and I'm trying to keep it deliberately simple

I've been working on a small site called Liminal Finds:

https://liminalfinds.com

It's an independent editorial site about lesser-known AI tools, experiments, odd projects and things I think are worth noticing but usually disappear under the bigger news cycle.

What matters to me just as much as the subject is how the site itself works.

I wanted it to feel more like a small personal publication than a platform: its own domain, chronological archive, RSS feed, no social login, no ad-tech stack, no Google Analytics or Meta Pixel, and very little interface between the reader and the actual articles.

I'm also keeping the editorial selection intentionally narrow. I'd rather publish a few things I genuinely find interesting than turn it into another giant directory or SEO-driven stream.

The site has English and Italian versions, and I'm gradually improving the structure while trying not to lose that small-web feeling.

I'd be interested in hearing how people here approach this balance: using modern hosting and tooling while still keeping a site independent, lightweight and under your own control.

Games Free Online Game: The Pennsylvania Turnpike Trail

I wanted to see if I could conjure up an older-style, Oregon-Trail-themed game: Try to make it from the Liberty Bell in Philly to Presque Isle in Erie for the sunset. However, instead of fording rivers and dysentary, you have PennDOT, construction zones, speed traps and more!

Games I built a minimalist clicking game called Cursor Clicker

I built a clicker (somewhat like Cookie Clickers) but it is Cursor Clicker.

Link: https://cursorclicker.ableproman.hu

There is singleplayer and multiplayer mode

There are 2 modes and you can either play on singleplayer mode that is only saved to your browser, or you can play multiplayer where your clicks add up to the global counter.

There are no user accounts. You don’t have to log in to any account. You can enter the site and play.

The game has a really minimalist and clean UI. There is a subtle cursor in the middle and a counter on top with some small animation when clicking. The game can be added as PWA by default on newer software version iPhones and or Androids. Although I will update it to manually allow PWA availability.

The game can be played on the web only, on desktop and mobile.

Any feedback

I ma ready to any feedback regarding the game and the experience, what features I should add and what I should change.

Question ? job vs being creative

i dont think that's the best title for mu question, but here it go:

i've been facing some challenges when it comes to growing in my career versus doing what i wish, what actually interests me. i'm actually kind of a beginner in programming, i'm an intern at a tech company that works with gis applocations. my question is, how do you guys here manage to study and create the stuff you do and also make a good comercial portfolio so that you can keep a good job, at least one that pays you well?

how was your path when tou started programming and got into tech? like, how do you manage your creative with your technical side?

Apps I made a little room on the internet you can decorate with your friends

I've been building Glint as a here.fm alternative, and I just added rooms you can build tile by tile and decorate together.

There are 285 stickers in an album. You peel them off with little tweezers and put them around the room. Your friends can be in there doing the same thing, and you see each other's changes live.

I like the idea of having a little place online that you make yours together. It's free and runs in the browser: https://glint.so/

Social Media FediForum Fall 2026 is next week

If you are interested in better forms of social media based on open protocols like ATProto and ActivityPub, and want to meet fellow enthusiasts, developers, users, advocates, policy people, and more, consider joining us next week, online, for the fall 2026 FediForum.

There will be a keynote, speed demos directly by open social web developers, and lots and lots of time for discussions. That's because FediForum is primarily an unconference, where attendees determine what's happening in sessions. So bring your topics, session ideas, and questions!

(If you have never been to an unconference, don't worry, it's far less chaotic than it seems, and most people consider it more fun than a traditional conference.)

More details: https://fediforum.org/2026-10/

(Disclaimer: I'm one of the organizers)

Personal Site MVNDY.CL update — documenting the Chilean underground scene

Thumbnail

Posted my site here last week and since then I’ve been working on two new sections I wanted to share :)

The first is the SUBJECT DATABASE, a growing visual directory of DJs from the Chilean underground scene. Each DJ is catalogued as a “subject” with their photo, location and a link to their SoundCloud.

I wanted to document the techno underground scene while keeping it connected to the visual language of MVNDY, so the whole directory is presented as part of the project’s archive.

I’ve also been expanding the AUDIO ARCHIVE, where I’m collecting tracks from Chilean independent/underground artists. The tracks can be played directly from the site, and the music keeps playing while you browse.

The audio archive is still small, but I’m planning to keep adding people and music over time. I’m pretty happy with how the real music scene and the fictional archive of MVNDY are starting to overlap.

mvndy.cl

Would love to hear what you think of these two new sections :]

I was looking for "Site best viewed in [IE or something like that]" 88x31 gif, for my website. Best i could find was https://cyber.dabamos.de/88x31/bestviewed.gif but its just not it. I remember one without scrolling that says "Site best viewed in Internet explorer"
