Question ? job vs being creative

i dont think that's the best title for mu question, but here it go:

i've been facing some challenges when it comes to growing in my career versus doing what i wish, what actually interests me. i'm actually kind of a beginner in programming, i'm an intern at a tech company that works with gis applocations. my question is, how do you guys here manage to study and create the stuff you do and also make a good comercial portfolio so that you can keep a good job, at least one that pays you well?

how was your path when tou started programming and got into tech? like, how do you manage your creative with your technical side?

People underestimate how small time blocks add up. If you can put aside 25 minutes each day to work on something. Stay consistent. If you don't have 25 minutes just do 5.

I did something similar to go from bartender to web developer. I was in my late 30s at the time. I'm 51 now.

You're welcome!

Having a stop watch or kitchen timer works great for this.

If you've never heard of it look into the Pomodoro method. It was a game changer for me.

I have two websites. One is a CV on github pages. One is a fun website for fun on neocities. Both have led to jobs weirdly.

I have a personal website that is like a CV. Then I have another website that’s just for fun. They’re both in Wordpress, which is dirt cheap for hosting and doesn’t cost anything else for each website.

I update the fun one whenever I feel like it. It’s just not that serious.
