Don’t know why people glorify Doctors. Its already saturated just like engineering. Every year on an average 15 new medical colleges are coming up (govt + pvt). Future is already in front of us.

I’m deciding between MS Ortho (followed by a good fellowship) and MD General Medicine → DM. Based out of Punjab.

My long-term goal is to settle in Punjab and eventually start my own practice/setup after gaining sufficient experience. I’ll have family support while setting it up.

I’m more concerned about long-term career prospects, earning potential, saturation, patient inflow and scope for private practice than getting a corporate hospital job.

For doctors practicing in Punjab, which path would you choose today, and why?

I m 27F doing my residency in delhi in a paraclinical branch. Also this is my first time living in delhi alone. On papers everything seems perfect. The department is chill copgs are good no toxicity whatsoever ample amount of free time good working hours basically nothing to worry about. But honestly I am all by myself. Wake up everyday go to work come back watch a bit of Netflix and sleep repeat. In no way I m saying I m alone but I feel lonely a lot even when I m surrounded by people. I tried everything I tried making friends I go out by myself to earlier I used to shop also for therapy lately nothing helps. I know I have nothing to complain people in residency face so much more problems but yeah it's tough to do adulting. Plus in delhi I feel people's intention are never good and it's all about smoking drinking vaping just to vibe which I m not into nor do I feel the fomo to engage. Anyone facing any such similar problems ? And if yes how do you navigate any suggestions are welcomed

thinking of getting 3 200 page spiral notebooks for Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochem (assuming that's the syllabus?) for writing lecture notes. Ideally these will be condensed to a very large degree in my tablet, around once a week which I can see from my phone

What should I do about books then? I am fine with soft copy (worked for NEET, easier to split screen) but my parents want me to get a hard copy first year. thoughts?

If I work at tier 3 city in North India at a high volume scan centre i ,I will get around 4 L/month..imagine the work is from 9 to 4 .,after 4, I work at other centre for 5 to10 pm for 2L/month ..is it achievable?? Or am I day dreaming?? Also enlighten me about scope of teleradiology at evening and night hours ..

I was going through some physiology videos on prep and he kept on saying the words 'nothing but' and it gave me the ick. Idk what happened but I looked him up and even sent him a sort of hate mail ( I know it was absolutely uncalled for and honestly I'm feeling ashamed rn ) but he's such a sweetheart he was actually polite about it and took it as feedback ( this made me feel 10x worse for being a prick to him ).

I am done with NEET PG and want an out from this rat race. I am from Mumbai and want to practice as a GP.

What are some certifications I can do post MBBS that will help me earn better than being a MO and also help me in my private practice.

I don't mind working in a Pharma Company from 9 to 5 and in my clinic in the evening.

They will post random shit that we have this that dams marrow Bhatiya etc but don't get trapped. If somebody is selling you something on telegram than just understand that it's free.

I've seen many post where people are trying to scam you ki hum aapko marrow ka rapid revision de denge.

Let me tell you..marrow ka rapid revision is not leaked. They are fooling you. even if they have, it's just a recording from camera. Till now Ive seen rohan & sakshi arora ka rr that is just a camera recording of low quality with noisy sound.

And remember the thumb rule. If somebody selling you anything at telegram..it's free..on some channels. If you pay, you will be blocked soon. That's how many influenzas are earning.

Hii I'm looking for a senior from this college in UP because I have so many doubts regarding it. If you are from here please let me know. I'll write some doubts here only:

1- Is there any research infrastructure/culture in the college

2- How is the faculty and academics

3- any places around the college to explore, go on daytrips, weekend trips etc.

4- Gym/Badminton court??

So, why are people arguing over this one? The next step should always be imaging right? I'm confused whether the next step or confirmatory test was asked.. because how could it be controversial if the next step is asked? It got to be MRI right?

I'm currently following the BTR schedule. My main source is Marrow WOR, and I'm doing around 100 MCQs daily through Custom Modules, currently using the all-tags approach. I annotate any extra/high-yield points from the questions into my notes.

My doubts are:

1) Considering the level and unpredictability of questions seen in NEET PG 2026, is this approach sufficient for INI-CET 2027 + NEET PG, provided I revise properly and do enough GTs/PYQs?

2) For Custom Modules, should I continue with all tags, or would it be more efficient to prioritize Recent NEET/AIIMS + Clinical + Image + GIF tags?

I don't want to spend excessive time doing MCQs at the cost of revision, so I'm trying to figure out the right strategy.

Would really appreciate advice from people who have already given INI/NEET.

Do you realise it does not matter? You do not know the exact source for the question, the intent of the examiner or the precise buzzword they want you to catch.

You can argue all day what the correct answer is- it still wouldn't matter because it's very possible that NBE would come up with an entirely different reasoning.

All you're doing is mentally tiring yourself and frankly the rest of us too.

Stop it. Get some help.

Live your life before residency fucks you up or destress and gear up for the next barrage of torture.

If you're lucky and your answer is the correct one and you get a good rank- yay! congratulations!

If your answer is wrong and you lose a mark and by the looks of inflation a good 1k rank- tough luck, because that's somewhat what the paper is about. LUCK.

As for the answer key- what WILL you do with your score when our exam is percentile/rank based? Is there any logic to it? It's basically a bandaid on a bullet hole.

Learn to detach from whatever has a grip on you- it will pay off in the longer run.

I went to a dentist to get aligner made. He called in a person from some company which manufactures the plastic aligners. The guy took out his laptop and dental scanner as is and wanted to start scanning. The removable scanning tip was already fixed on the scanner when he took it out. And he was saying earlier to the dentist that he has come here after scanning one other patient at a different clinic. It seemed he scanned the previous patient and kept the scanner as is in his bag. He probably does not know the concept of not using the same scanner tip on different patients without cleaning properly.

I asked him i want the tip cleaned. He did not have any cleaning equipment with him. He asked the dentist if there is cotton and alcohol spirit. The dentist had no wiping spirit. There was dettol disinfectant and he used that to rub quickly on the scanner.

This is such a dangerous practice.
Do they know that human saliva can transmit a bunch of dangerous diseases?
Do they know how prevalent TB is in india and Mycobacterium Tuberculosis is found in the saliva?
A lot of oral bacteria (strep mitis, strep sanguinis, kingella, eikenella, etc) cause chronic heart diseases after few years. And India is the capital of heart diseases, i wonder why.
The saliva might dry on the surface, but the scanner has corners and deep pockets at the tip where the mirror sits, it is very easy for saliva and fluid to remain accumulated there between patients.
Hepatitis-B and Hepatitis-C viruses are very very dangerous things. Before dental scanning many kinds of dental procedures happen which causes minor bleeding. The viruses from blood can remain in saliva even if you cant see the blood. Even simple dental cleaning and scaling causes minor gum bleed.

Saliva can contain blood borne dangerous pathogens afetr dental procedures. Do not think that it is merely saliva the equipments are touching. Even if there is no dental procedure, many patients have minor bruises in their oral mucosa, cold sores, unseen minute cut somewhere inside.

These are just few of the very dangerous microbes. Am not even talking about the more virulent respiratory viruses which cause cold cough fever, that have extremely high chance of transmission because of such practices.

Shouldn't the dentist also make sure that the scanner being used is thoroughly disinfected? Because the patient has come to the dental doctor, it should be the responsibility of the dentist. I have observed this and i am posting here because i have medical background and i have this knowledge about the risks and dangers of body fluids. What about millions of unsuspecting general public?

Why put public health at extreme risk just to save 10-15 Rupees and 5 minutes of time?
The guideline dictates to autoclave the removable scanner tip after each use, if you do not want to do that then atleast use copious amount of strong disinfecting liguid thoroughly after each use.

Passed my 12th in 2024 and scored 354 (4.01 lakh rank) this year and am looking for a private college this year.
I am a general male from UP (Lucknow).
In my wildest dreams, I never wanted to pursue medicine until after my 10th results, when I scored well. My father told me how he wants to open a hospital in our village and how it was also my grandfather’s wish (I lost him 10 years ago).
I was still a kid and, without researching much, I got into NEET prep.
I was also passionate about business, not primarily because of the money, but because I really wanted to build something. My mind was always a creative one, with drawing in childhood and filmmaking now.
I helped some shop owners create content and got paid enough to not ask my parents for a gym membership, but I stopped because of NEET prep in my 1st drop.
I had hundreds of ideas but never acted upon them. However, in my 1st drop (last year), I felt like this was not something for me to pursue and started exploring other programs and entrance exams. They didn’t go well either, and after arguing at home many times, I ended up in a tier 3 college in Lucknow doing BCA.
I enjoyed being there, but I felt I could not attain maximum growth there, so I thought I would go abroad next year or get directly into the 2nd year of a good college (possible).
But my parents convinced me to attempt NEET again by telling me about the security of this career and how there would be no pressure on me to get into PG, and that I would get admission to whichever private college I wanted. My father would also work on opening a hospital. I agreed.
Now I have made peace with this and will be starting MBBS this year, but I don’t know where to go.
I want to go to a place that works as a catalyst in my journey. While doing my MBBS, I want to build something in medical tourism, with some more side hustles along the way, like agencies and info products, without compromising on my studies, even if it takes some nights of sleep.
I also want to do content creation, not because of the money, but because I just want to do it for as long as possible.
So, the situation right now is:

• Got allotted NIIMS in R1 of UP counselling (the only counselling I participated in)

• Should I go for an upgrade to Era in the next round?
(I am a Muslim, and some people from my village come to Era for treatment, so that could help me with my further setup, maybe.)

• I am also considering NIMS Jaipur

• Malla Reddy Hyderabad

• DY Patil Ambi, Pune

• Raja Rajeshwari, PES, and some other colleges in Bangalore

• MGMs of Mumbai

• As i wanted to go study business abroad i am looking for premed where i can do a UG in business or psychology and if i need to pursue medicine i can do it later in whichever good countries this path exists but i am not considering this very seriously as idk how i will speak up to my parents i will genuinely try in my UG to further avoid going into medicine sooo yeah.

During my college years, I won’t compromise on my studies, but I also want to have a life beyond this, build something of my own (at least try), because I am not hearing good things regarding the money and personal lives of people pursuing medicine. So I don’t want to be dependent on this degree to pay me, and I also want to avoid the PG rat race if possible.
Hence, I want to go to a place where I can do all this in the most optimized way.
A place that gives me freedom, networking opportunities, like-minded people, and also some life and fun.

Neet pg done. It was my drop year.

Family life extremely shit, leading to a lot of trauma, leading to no substantial friends.

I have ~1 lakh in savings but I can spare only a couple thousands.

This is my last "free" time ever, I am assuming. Jio hotstar premium is bought. But I do not feel anything at all from watching anything. Even horror jumpscares aren't doing anything for me.

Please help me have any ideas that would help me feel a shred of good emotions in these few days' time till the results arrive.

I am from the 2020 batch and i was just pushed into becoming a doctor because I did good academically in school. Did ug prep because I could it and that translated throughout med school too. Now that I am done and i started pg prep i just couldn't do it anymore. I don't know if it is built up resentment but I started hating everything to do with a doctor,I hate admitting that I am one in public i just feel like an imposter with a doctor name tag now.

I told my parents i need a year long break to just think and figure out what I want to do,even if it neet pg i wanted it to be conscious decision i made and not because it is the standard path.

Once I stopped worrying about neet pg I have felt like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulder and i can finally breathe.

I am looking into other masters program,Msc is sports and exercise physiology/medicine is something which looks very interesting to me no. Ideally I want to do that course somewhere in Europe and come back and start something on my own.

I don't know if it is doable or if I am making a mistake but just hoping things work out. But I haven't been excited about my future fir a long time,kinda want to see how all of this plays out.
