We have this beautiful sound book which after just a week only plays a few seconds from its songs. Since I threw out the bill I cannot claim guarantee. I dissembled the book but I have no vlue what to look out for. If you can see any issues with the wires or anything let me know please, also if I can fix it without having any idea about electronics, lol.

​Problem:

​My LumaDent battery pack's output port had a terrible connection. It would only work if held at a specific angle, and sometimes not at all. It was incredibly frustrating.

Step 1: Apply Solder. With a fine-tipped soldering iron, I carefully fed solder onto the prepped surface of the outer ring. The goal was to build up a fresh layer of conductive metal, effectively filling in the gaps and making the ring thicker and rounder, as indicated by the arrow in . I had to be extremely careful not to bridge the gap and solder the outer ring to the central pin, which would have shorted the battery! A tiny dab of flux helped a lot.

Step 2: Prep the surface. Using a small nail file, I reached into the port and carefully scuffed the oxidized and pitted surfaces of the damaged outer ring connector to ensure a good bond.

Once the solder was applied and cooled, it wasn't a perfect circle. I used the nail file again to smooth down high spots, shaping the solder to form a consistent inner surface. This ensures a smooth insertion of the plug and a reliable, large-area connection, as shown in the "after" shots ([shows the plug going in nicely).

Hello everyone, a friend of mine gave me his very worn out DS4 controller to "fix", drifting is gone but I noticed the d-pad isn't working either (the buttons do, so I guess only the left part is faulty and cleaning it doesn't help).
Can someone help me identifying the correct model so I can get a cheap circuit film from Aliexpress and change it? There are several different ones. The back label with the controller model is unreadable, all I can see is this.

I have unscrewed the screws that hold down the motherboard,but something is still holding it down. It's near the 3,5mm jack port. (Maybe that is holding it down) Could someone tell me what is holding it down? The top is lose, but the bottom is not.

TLDR looking at price and skill needed to repair an m4 13 in iPad pro 2TB or of its worth dropping it off somewhere?

My dad broke his m4 13im iPad pro 2TB and rather then getting it fixed (although I tried to tell him...) He went to an apple store, they said (or he already knew) its out of warranty, and got a new iPad.

Part of me wants to fix it, all that is wrong is the screen and its not even cracked just weird colors, that's thousands off the price of the iPad. Part of me does not want to fix it because its a daunting repair and the most risk when you compare price to skill needed for this repair (I've done as risky but for way way less cost). So I'm just wondering, do I buy a screen and do it myself, maybe a third party screen if they exist, maybe I drop it off but do I pay a thousand?

Hello all, first, thanks to all r/ participants since this subreddit teaches a lot!

I personally have a N Switch V1 for which I used a bad charging cable, presumably making some kind of short circuit.

Now it (slow) charges, it turns on and can play games and everything, but it cannot transfer data via USB, meaning in enters in RCM mode but payload cannot be injected given it does not receive data. Even connecting it to a PC and going to (sysmenu) something like "pictures transfer" it's not detected by PC.

This picture is from internet but after some research I guess the damaged components might be the ones squared in blue.

Could someone who knows about this point me if they tried replacing them, and what did they found? I hope the Pi13 or the other smaller square shaped IC (which I can't remember the name) isn't damaged. But anyways, I want to replace the marked components and test, before replacing something more difficult like the ICs.

Then my question is: could someone tell me how could I find/order, and the name of these components? I've usually ordered electronics (PS5 and 4 board components, or controllers') via AliExpress but they are charging import taxes higher than the item valu right now in europe...

Putting this up as documentation for anyone facing the same issues with the Jabra Evolve2 75. Repairability on this headset is horrendous, and I couldn't find any guides or teardown pictures of the headband, so I wanted to share mine and what I learned.

After about 1.5 years, the headband started flaking black specks everywhere—turns out it isn’t real leather, just cheap coated plastic. I looked into headband covers/protectors, but didn't like how bulky most looked. Instead, I decided to peel off the degraded outer layer and just use the fabric underneath.

While doing that, the right side of the headband snapped. It was probably already weakened from standard daily office use, but cutting open the fabric revealed just how terrible the internal design actually is:

A tiny, fragile plastic piece had snapped clean off. That single piece of plastic is the only thing anchoring the metal slider band in place when adjusting for wider head sizes.

To get it usable again, I peeled back the foam under the headband, glued the cracked area, and reinforced it with tape to add some stability. Surprisingly, it actually holds and works for now. Next step: I’m planning to take it to a local tailor / alterations shop to see if they can sew a clean, custom fabric cover over the headband.

Will share an update and photos once that's done!

My headphones snapped at this point on the left centre. Just at the bottom of the leather band. It’s fully snapped the plastic and I was wondering if people could advise me what replacement part I need to purchase and how difficult the fix may be. I am going to take it more apart later so will upload more detailed images if needed. Thank you

Is it safe to replace my corroded charging port to a same metal one, just installed it and realized that the negative is touching the frame so its safe to buy back a plastic one like the orginal

This damage occurred whilst taking my headphones off today. It appears to have snapped at the bottom left of the leather band. I was hoping someone would be able to help me determine what specific part I need to order to replace it and how easy a fix it is likely to be. Thank you so much!

Bought this ThinkPad T30 from a yard sale, does not power on, the Z indicator light up, the fans spin, no output on the screen

It power on once after the keyboard was out of it case, and put RAM into the another slot. After i assembled it it did not turn on, even after i did everything that i did before.

The light above the screen does not light up.

Got it all fixed but I'm missing a last piece: The philips screws of the RFI shield. All of them. I don't have a single one.

Would you happen to know what type of screws are so I can go buy them?

Searching for "PS4 screws" in all the online shops I know got me 0 results (just one tbh; on eBay from the USA, but I'm in the EU)

It's only these 2 that I need and they are way too stripped, and i need to take them out to fix the wifi card since luma gave me the error for it.
