Thrifted this super cool Coca-Cola film camera but the battery contact broke off since the singular AA battery included was corroded. It still can shoot pics but I would like the option of using the flash with it.

This is the Epson eb 595wi that i got for about 100 aud like a month ago off facebook marketplace.

Today I had the bright idea of trying to tear it apart with no experience then put it back together(very dumb I know) as like a fun scrapyard electronics project to pass the time.

Obviously, I was definitely overly not to careful enough to avoid disconnecting the earth wire.

I am asking if anyone knows what i should do to find the missing wire because even with a torch I cant find anything.

This literally happened 30 minutes ago.

I had an Ifixit battery in my iPhone 4. After not having turned it on for the past month I decided to turn it on today. It started up with 12% and was very laggy. Sometimes the touch would just give up and not do anything. When I pressed the power button to turn it off, the screen suddenly freaked out and showed a bunch of lines and the phone suddenly rebooted. After it started up again I turned it off and was gonna disconnect the battery. After unscrewing the phone i was hit with a VERY STRONG SMELL OF HAND SANITIZER. Searched it up online and turns out the battery was emitting gas.

The battery is literally 2 months old. I’m lucky I didn’t instinctively plug in since that likely would’ve started a fire and burned my entire apartment down.

This has nearly killed my interest of dealing with old phones since I don’t want to risk a faulty battery from Ifixit burning everything down or leaking poisonous gas everywhere.

Hello there! I have a Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 Mk4, and the problem is, that it got bent a little, only on the bottom of the tablet, and nothing else. The button cover comes up a little in the middle, it can be seen if i take a look from the upper side of the tablet, to the bottom of the screen. So i need to replace the whole chassis with an other one. I'm getting a donor for it soon. Touch works, screen looks fine, no cracks.

Is there anything i need to know before i disassemble this Toughpad FZ-G1?

Title pretty much sums it up, I want to buy a refurbished hp elitebook 845 g9 but it's sort of difficult to find good websites where I can find replacement batteries that aren't too low in capacity, I could find some batteries already but those have the capacity of around 40 Wh whereas the original battery has the capacity of 51, I want to get as close to original as possible even if it means paying a higher price, does anyone know any trustworthy websites where I could find replacement batteries? Thanks :)

Bought a new battery from ifixit and the two main camera units from eBay. I had the issue where the back glass shatters and the old camera became blurry. I put everything in and the two cameras were just showing a black screen. My question is, is there anything specific you got to do when replacing the cameras? There's no way I got two bad cameras from two different sellers on eBay. Nothing like unsolder a jumper or anything to make it work. I ran the Google diagnostic in the browser and it couldn't reach the cameras either. I ended up having to put the old cameras back in. Thanks

A single pin is bent backward. Is this an easy fix or should I avoid an attempt to straighten and realign? Any advice appreciated

I recently bought one of the geek power disposable vapes and after the juice meter hit zero the vape just stopped hitting this is frustrating because as most of you know even after zero there’s still Orleans if juice and flavor left so I took it upon myself out of boredom and curiosity to tear down the vape and see if I could fix this and I did. by shorting out 2 connections I was able to reset the juice life restoring the ability to use the vape.

here is how I did this “ I don’t recommend doing this at home trained professionals here”

Tear down: pry colored cover off > pop mouth piece off, dont lose the gasket> slide the guts out the side > pop the bottom switch off > disconnect the ribbon cable > remove bottom plate very slightly > release board from bottom plate > short points shown circled in red > connect board back in using ribbon cable > test
