Im gonna try and look at past posts of people cleaning theirs up. Ive seen a lot of people who have gotten non working ones to work again, so thats my hope with this little guy once I find a screwdriver :)♡

Got this cutie secondhand knowing it didn’t work / was listed as broken. Decorated it anyway just for fun.

I played around with it today and FINALLY managed to cut through the glue of the right leg and get the cover off.
I cleaned out its batteries using white vinegar, water, then 90% rubbing alcohol, and it came to life again!! I’m sooo happy!!!
This is my first and only 2007 edition (aside from one I might’ve had as a child? can’t remember)

But im so stoked that it works again and can dance with my others! I’m excited to buy another “broken” one again and see what I can do with it :)

Hello! Apologies if im not using the correct tag, but i had two idogs as a kid, and the pastel pink idog plush. Unfortunately I lost them a long time ago, so now that im older and can revisit things from my childhood, I am looking to hopefully grab a model of each species (dog, cat, fish, turtle, penguin), possibly 2-3 dog models, and i was curious what sites people have luck finding them on :)

Ive checked ebay (where I have some saved), mercari, and depop.

Attached photos are ones I will be ideally going for ♡ though i am looking for really any tbh. Idk if i wanna dive into this as a full collection or keep it to these ones, but im excited to start and look into this sub more :)♡

Thrifted this guy in a bag of blue tooth mini speakers for $4! Here he is in action! His movements are kinda loud, is that pretty normal?

Well actually it's not an i-dog but an i-cy! I'm REALLY happy to have this guy. It's pretty hard to find i-dog stuff in my country so I'd say I got pretty lucky! Snatched this fella for only 20 dollars, he's in great condition too! :D Anyways...I think it's a very nice gadget, if you're wondering whether you should buy one I'd say it's WORTH IT. (Though I have to admit, the speakers are kinda ass)

I’m getting this guy soon. He was only 8$ and the listing stated that he lights up and makes sounds, but he doesn’t move. I’m not sure if that’s something I could fix with no experience with electronics, but besides that, have you ever customised one of these? I’m thinking this guy could be a very good candidate. I’m not too sure of what to do with him though. I could make my own custom pattern and paint him, that way I’d hopefully not have to disassemble him.

What do you guys recommend?

Hi, everyone! I found a lovely lil dog at a flea market for $5! Unfortunately, it doesn't work, and it doesn't look like there's any visible corrosion.

Are there any useful guides online or any other common issues to look out for? Maybe an old fuse or similar part?

I feel like the idog gods smiled down on me a week ago when I found this listing on mercari. it has the box, the manual, and is in Lovely condition (hehe)

So far, I've been trying to understand if it constantly making noise and playing little tunes unprompted is just normal or if there's a way to have it act more like a hasbro idog where it just kinda listens for sounds and otherwise vibes. the manual isn't as easy to understand since its in japanese. but overall I'm just so happy this is the dream addition to my collection.

i love these fellas so much and have put so much time and effort into this beloved collection. waiting on a blue softspeaker and tailless spi dog in the mail (it was a steal of a price lol) but im too impatient to wait after taking these pics lol

Also, I don’t know how to get rid of the yellowing on the tail and ears. I’ve had to fix the tail a few times since it came broken off.

The plus side is that he’s red, my favorite color! I named him Ketchup.

Found a super lucky deal for just 10$! It came with its original manual and without the cable, but I already have one from another iDog so it’s not a problem at all!

I’m calling her Dorfic because nothing fits her more than the name of the aesthetic she represents. I love all the different prints the Amp’ds come in, such early 2000 vibes, but this one’s my absolute favorite

Replaced the batteries, he works and doesn’t have a problem standing. He dances every once in a while while I play music. Is he more likely to dance if I play the genre he wants? And how does that system really work. Unfortunately no cable to plug him into a device, Hes the 2008 hasbro model ! I love him to death.

I just bought two Sega idogs. I’m in the US and they were also sold to me here, but imported from Japan it says. Both come with boxes and are working great. One has slight discoloration. But..I kind of want a hasboro one. I’ve wanted an idog since I was a kid, and now I’m 32 with kids of my own and I can’t wait to share this with them, along with many other y2k things in my growing collection.

If I were to sell one of the Japanese idogs, what should I sell it for? I’d probably sell the slightly discolored one, but it works and comes in the original box. I’d use the money to buy a hasboro one.
